your video was so relaxing to watch, I'm subscribing hoping that your other videos are like that as well. Of course I appreciate the workmanship as well, but consider this, I work in a highly stressfull environment. This video was like ASMR for my mind. (I'm not into actual ASMR though, I don't understand it and don't like it, I'm just trying to draw a parrallel).
@@lollerich I am in the middle of switching this channel over to just this type of video. I have a second channel Wood By Wright 2 where I will be moving all the how-to talking videos. it will happen over the next month or so.
Pete Peterson 1 second ago I have an Idea for A project but a question first how many times have you or someone had a chefs knife and then put it down to go after a paring knife what if the paring knife was inside the handle build it if you dare
I like project videos. I like projects videos that teach techniques. I like projects videos that teach techniques that produce a beautiful piece of work! Congrats on the trifecta here....
You do beautiful work. The knife handle is exquisite. The added ebony "slice" brought the whole project together. You both collaborate nicely...more collaborations, please.
I love this project. My buddy is a metal worker and I am a woodworker. I hope we can make one of these as good as yours. Thanks much for this video. It is very inspirational. 👍🏻
It’s more than obvious the respect other creative channels have for you, you always seem to be at the top of the list for collaborations. Of course you didn’t let him down, the knife looked stunning. I’ve never seen or heard of an Ulu knife as I’m not a big knife person, I buy what I need to do a job and that’s it. However, that doesn’t stop me appreciating something so beautiful. Another great video, thank you.
very nice job bro! came here by blackbeard btw. i like that you work with the oldfashion tools and ways, if you keep doing like this i will be back to your channel for more! freetz from the netherlands :)
Thanks. That means a lot. This channel is all about hand tools. I do occasionally bring out a power tool for one thing or another but 99% of everything done here is just with hands.
Just watched the first part of this project earlier today and wondered how it was going to turn out... Then, this video popped up on my recommended videos. Presto, now I know how it turned out. Fantastic job for both of you guys! Thanks for sharing!
I really like BBP work and I have seen him make the Ulu and I'm watching you make the handle by the way very nice and now I'm also a new subscriber great work.
Every one of those tools has a video showing how to make them. I think I have a playlist of all of the shopmade tools. There's probably 30 or 40 videos on there.
Thanks for audio skills of having the music lower so I don't have to up my volume to hear instructions, You as some think I need to hear power tools "Notice I've plenty of garage and BlackSmith noise at home. Great video and a pleasure Thanks Your audio was awesome and good music. Just thought to let you know good job was noticed Sir
Super beautiful and Black Beard also did great! I'm now building 4 more after building 3 others of 2 different types. They "rock" as a vegetable slicer and less fatigue than knives and faster for cutting anything less than 4 inches diameter. As for the medium size which I feel is most useful for most things. Shure beautiful handle ,I've been using cheap soapstone, It has a great fit but wood will be more beautiful. Thanks for the teaching Sir ( or was it showing ? But enjoyed it)
Okay. Not quite sure how you managed to do all that work without protecting the cutting edge. I would have lost all my fingers by about minute four. Just amazing.
If you and blackbeard projects have seen a show called forged in fire, the finale part is usually a historic remake of a weapon. If you both could make one of those im sure they would turn out way better than the ones in the competitions.
Thanks. Surprisingly once you get to know files and rasps they can't be much faster and more accurate than doing it with a power tool. In wood that is. But it is a skill that is hard to learn.
First time seeing your channel, I'll be watching a few more. That handle turned out really nice. I liked your usage of all hand tools (excluding the vacuum chamber, that would have been some feat.)
Beautiful work mate and love watching someone using hand tools maybe you guys can come up with another kitchen or multi purpose tool maybe something really old just a thought keep up the great work you guys are doing.
Treadle powered scroll saw, I've got the plans, I will gladly give them to you, being as how I have an old 40's/50's era Rockwell that still works perfectly
Very nice work and a good colab. I'd prefer to see the ebony insert either completely away from the pin or exactly centred in the middle of it. My eye sees it as 'off centre'.
That drove me bonkers when I had to enlarge the hole and it didn't enlarge straight away it just grew on one side. Initially it was dead center and looked great lol. Oh well.
Really great results. Love to see more collaborations; BB has got me interested in leather work so wonder if there could be a leather/fine woodworking project in the future; leather carved sheath carved wood handled knife comes to mind. Or what about a sword with a wood and leather sheath? Or a shield or both?

that furniture vice bench is awesome my great grandfather made one and we still have it almost 100 years later
A good bench is the first tool in the shop! I love one with a story.
BEAUTIFUL......... With no power tools that handle is a work of art.....Like I said......BEAUTIFUL
Thanks Anthony. This is a fun one.
Истинные творцы!!! Очень уважаю эту деятельность!!!
Большое спасибо. Это много для меня значит!
Good to see you using all hand tools rather than power tools Respect
Thanks. I do enjoy slowing down and enjoying the process.
Dude! Mad props for laterally hand sawing the spacers!
Thanks. It's fun to just pick up a handsaw and cut a nice straight line and create two thin pieces wood
That curly white oak is gorgeous
Love that stuff. Some of my favorite.
Nice to see a craftsman using only hand tools.

Thanks to you both. I enjoyed the program. Also learned what an Ulu is.
Absolutely beautiful. Congrats to you both. It is impressive that you did all that without power tools. Simply beautiful.
Thanks.
The look of that handle was breathtaking beautiful
Thanks. That was a fun one for sure.
Beautiful handle, what a lot of work without power tools, great work.
Thanks Steve. I have a full power tool shop but this channel is all about hand tools and teaching how to do that.
You handled that quit well. Great job brother.
