Pretty funny story from M. Shadows about this song on one of the recent videos they've been doing where they go back and break down their older songs instrument by instrument. Shadows said this was the first time he heard himself and Avenged Sevenfold on the radio and the DJ on whatever station it was immediately said "that drummer needs to chill out, he's overplaying" after the song ended, and Shadows was like "Overplaying? That was Jimmy barely even trying."

@@methoril It was recorded after his death yes, but he wrote all of his parts on the album before he passed. So when they recorded it Mike Portnoy played the drums exactly as The Rev had written it.
The music video does not have the full song, it cuts some parts of the album/full version. I suggest listen to the full version on your own :D The same thing happens with Afterlife and The beast and the harlot videos.

Yes, please. Chapter Four is my favorite song but only because it was the first song I memorized and it has the right amount of screaming and melodic parts.

Just as an aside, the video is a reference to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...makes a bit more sense if you have seen the movie.

The harmonized high parts are usually all of them singing, but the rev does have alot of backing parts

Another great singer that has great harsh and clean vocals is Spencer from Periphery. They are heavy but he has great melodic moments. Matt and Spencer are my favorite singers
This is my favorite music video of theirs! The Fear and Loathing aspect is so well done. This song also happens to be one of my favorites of theirs especially when it comes to Syn's amaaaazing solo and then when him and Zacky are doing their dueling part. Talk about an eargasm!!!! This song was off their 2005 breakout album, 'City of Evil'. They sounded kinda different, especially Shadows' vocals, although still great. It's changed throughout the years.

The official music video for Unholy Confessions was shot at a live show so you could see Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan in action there while still getting studio quality sound. Also you can get feel for the sound of early A7X before they were on a major label. Darkness Surrounding off of their first album still has my favorite drumming from any A7X song especially the part at about 1:30 in for the next thirty seconds.

That’s the wrong version of the song. The actual song from the album is longer than the music video is the real song that sounds better everywhere.

A7x fukin legit! In my personal top 3 bands. Started off with listening to iron maiden, black Sabbath, metallica and dead Kennedy's 31 yrs ago, GD getting old. Everyone has their own tastes and that is beauty of the world. Good video ! You are very knowledgeable.
