Question - are there any strikes or kicks in judo? Having that option could be very useful in certain circumstances (especially if there is more than one opponent.)

No, not really. It's a grappling art
But I mean, multiple opponents, stricking or not you're kinda fucked

@@crep757 I hear you. I figured if there were any strikes or kicks in judo, they'd be something like what you find in jiu jutsu - a very limited repertoire, but still something in the 'toolkit', so to speak. I'm thinking in terms of being confronted by multiple aggressors and, if possible, fending one off with a blow and feinting or pushing another so I get a chance to escape encirclement and run like hell, but grappling one of them would just expose me to assault from whoever else is attacking. Hence the question.
Perhaps a video about how to quickly deal with more than one attacker might be helpful. Not a 'bruce lee flying spin kick knocks out 5 guys' thing, but something about 2-3 quick moves that open an opportunity for escape.

There are. Atemu waza. But they are not used in competition and mistly not taught

@@eliasschneeberger1337 Interesting! I would enjoy seeing a video that demonstrates some or all of these techniques. Sports Judo is interesting in itself, but I find myself increasingly curious about Judo as a complete martial art. So far what I've seen is impressive.
