As someone who lives in the UK and can freely travel between Scotland, England and Wales without border crossings, this is such a strange thing to watch. Granted, if I'm honest, the UK isn't a great place right now and is rather fucked up due to COVID, Brexit and the Conservative government at Westminster doing their best to pillage the country's coffers, but still seeing this is still a bit of a head fuck for me, especially for what is an invisible border. Yes, I'm aware that the border crossings have been tougher to achieve due to border closures due to COVID in the USA and Canada, but even before COVID, USA and Canada had invisible borders that could be crossed over in which you'll get in deep shit if you don't cross the border at official checkpoints. While in Scotland we closed the borders to England, which meant that people from Scotland couldn't leave Scotland and no-one from England could come through, this was only because of COVID and wasn't normal procedure i.e. normally people can cross the Scottish/English border with absolute freedom.
