I absolutely couldn't get enough of your comparison segment. This is exactly what I wanted to see. I feel there are enough differences between the two to warrant having both, however, I have to say the Bee Movie Prime is unmatched. I like that it has more red and I dig the more angular design of his upper legs. I don't know, I just get more of the classic vibe from the Bee Movie version. That said, the new one is pretty darn cool too!

I was worried when I saw talk of a new intro. Drummer here…..playing the “air drums” during your intros has become a thing. I can’t NOT do it. Glad it’s still there lol.
I have the Optimus Prime from Bumblebee, a DLX ThreeZero figure. It was superb and my first (and only) collectible. Completely happenstance that I was able to have it. Good to see that ThreeZero has continued to have such high quality and detailed figures.
Very chill and fun review, and the figure looks amazing! I do agree this wasn't my favorite look for prime at first (I'm actually a bay prime fan) but seeing him in motion in the film definitely won me over too. I do LOVE the maskless face design, too! And yeah, it's been confirmed that they did indeed tweak it to be more Cullen-like, which is so very cool to me.
I think once they rebooted the series and set it in the late 80's/early 90's. They finally gave what the fans wanted. A more Generation 1 prime. It's not exact of course. Because it would look really bad. They basically made a real world version of G1 Optimus for both Bumblebee and tweaked it again for ROTB. Both look awesome.
They need to get up their packaging, as I have now multiple DLX figures that are have deep scratches and their heads are fallen into small pieces. For that, these figures are very expensive. I recieved my ROTB Optimus with the mouthplate peg broken and with the head fallen off in the packaging, that had no visible damage to it. I think the problem is that the clamshell is not damping the shock during shipping but being very stiff, it just transfers the force to the figure, that causing i. e the head to pop and forcing the other parts together and creating deep scratches i.e. my ROTF Megatron - inspite of padding the base of the joints with foam. Maybe they should try out the black shape cut foam. Also I would recommend them to step up with their after sales as they would not provide replacement parts for sending them out, and I need to send back the whole figure for repairs. Similar to Action Toys... This experience takes away alot for me, but I like these figures very much.
The new intro is nice. Also, something extremely important, but I do not wish to come across harshly or too callous… I appreciate the chill vibe you’re doing in this video. Your past videos felt “intensely passionate”. This video feels calm, cool, and collected. Long time follower, keep up that phenomenal work!

I want to say that they based this Optimus (and a few other Autobots) on their designs from Transformers Prime. The colors and the bits, if not the vehicle modes (the exception being Wheeljack) and I dig it.
Don’t know if it just didn’t come up well on the camera but the silver paint on primes face seems to make all the separate panels meld together. Once I get mine eventually I think I’ll take a panel lining pen to it to bring out the detail a little better

I’ve both the Optimus Primes from the Bumblebee movie and Rise of the Beast. Although I believe I prefer the more G1 design vibe of the Bumblebee movie Optimus- the look of all the red pieces on that ThreeZero Prime looked too plastic. I’m very capable of detail painting so added more silver dry brush, which helped it look more metallic, but couldn’t shake that plastic look entirely and it bothered me- especially on a figure that had so much die cast! This new Rise of the Beast Prime fixes that issue. The overall paint on this one is much better - the red looks like metal painted red and not red plastic! However, I do believe your sample in this video looks more weathered than mine (my smokestacks have blackened tips unlike yours though) but I can add a bit more weathering if I want. It’s also close enough to a G1 looking OP that it works for me. Bottom line, I am pairing this Rise of the Beast Optimus on my shelf with my DLX Bumblebee movie Bumblebee (prefer him in VW mode) and feel this is my best Transformers display yet.

As someone who grew up on the Micheal Bay Transformers movies, I personally dislike the mouth. Don't get me wrong, I do like Optimus Prime having a face under the battle mask, it's just that shoving the Bay face design into this more G1 fashioned helmet and body just feels so out of place. They should have just designed him a whole new face more in line with the other characters in this reboot universe Edit: You did miss one part on the knee articulation. It bends a little bit further to be almost an entire 180° and exposes some more cool detail at the top of the shin. Not a huge deal, but definitely worth you grabbing it down from the shelf to look at it if you missed it before :)
Ive done the same thing with the Jada cars but getting the 1/16 ver. Obviously the scale is off but i have very limited space. Still like having them to show off the car modes
I just got mine, I was abit skeptical with this design at first. But after having it in my hands, the paint job on this is superior than the Optimus from Bumblebee movie. PS. DLX Optimus from Bumblebee can still feel somewhat plasticky

A real PRO for this Rise of the Beast Optimus is the arm canon. That is an argument for a non-transforming Transformer. I don’t see how there could be an arm canon if it somehow had to be incorporated in one that transforms. I have mine displayed with an arm canon and it looks terrific.
So……ThreeZero do know how to make display bases? Trying to pose Denji in Chainsaw Man mode in a dynamic pose (or getting Denji and Power in an opening credit style dance pose) is a real struggle.
