I fished New Smyrna Beach for a long time, on the south side jetties. I loved catching big jacks, black drum, redfish and Sheepshead out there. Brings back good memories

It's cool you say that the IRL used to get pompano when there were clams in it. Year and half ago there was a huge school of pompano that came up on me in the IRL in Titusville. Wasn't prepared one bit and wouldn't eat my lure.
If you want lots of red snappers go fish the gulf side if Florida. They have a larger biomass ,there for a longer season the Atlantic side has a very short window for harvesting red snappers and its a true cluster when it opens

Everytime I fish that spot mostly all I catch is red snapper and big lemon sharks .
