Quick tip for Captain’s shield is that you can switch to another gun after you toss it. The shield may take a while to return mainly when you miss your target so it’s better to use your main gun while it’s returning to you.

@@thecatalytic since zero builds addition it is way easier, but the learning curve might be the same since 2018 for builds as it definitely takes some time to learn how to build and edit fast.
I think the addition of bots and improved matchmaking has made it way easier for new players to learn the game, which is great! I honestly wish there were some bots in my first games because I was terrible

This is actually so fresh and fun to watch! I’ve only played Fortnite in VERY BRIEF moments over the years (like literally one evening or 2 every 6 months then not at all for the last couple years) so this season is the first time I got the battle pass and dove into it properly, and it’s so much fun! Seeing you going through a similar experience to me is really fun and chill to watch, great video 😎 I’ve seen some people complain that the first few games you play for quite a while are very much bot-filled but I didn’t even mind cause it was very satisfying to actually do well lmao. It definitely helped me hone my skills though for when I start levelling up and playing more with friends in bigger tougher lobbies

the medallions arent just for show, mysterios medallion has a power where if you crouch for a small amount of time you can temporarily go invisible. emma frost's medallion can mark the location of players around you, and im pretty sure the 3rd boss's medallion is gaining health upon shooting other players

I think this video really shows the magic of playing Fortnite for the first time. You drop in and start getting a feel for the game as you fight off some totally real people. A baffling collection of characters are seen fighting each other, from Batman to Goku and Shaq to Jack Skellington. Over time, you learn what weapons you like and- hey is that a (insert licensed weapon from a franchise you know), that’s cool so you pick it up. You (likely) win one of your first matches by sheer skill. You go to the shop and see a character you like. You don’t have to get the skin but it would be really cool if you did. I don’t think there’s any other game that does it like Fortnite. Call me a glazer all you want, but no game has given me this much joy for as long as Fortnite has.
Fortnite has heavy skill based matchmaking. As a new player you will only play against other new players, bad players, or AI players. That's why nobody was drinking shields and why you won your first game etc... If you get SUPER good and play build mode you will start to come across some real fortnite action. You seem like a natural. Glad to have you in game.
The Marvel season with the first Wolverine skin is what hooked me into playing Fortnite. I regretted not starting when the first Deadpool skin came out.

I started playing Fortnite about a year ago when the OG map was back and lots of people playing, so I decided to play with my brother just for the memes, but I ended up having so much fun compared to playing other shooters that it eventually became my main shooter game. I used to play CS and Valo but I just have constant burnouts and I wasn't having fun anymore. I really love how Fortnite always has constant updates and new things being added, it just add more fun to it that it's very difficult for me to get burned out playing the game. I had fun when I win, but I also had fun when I lose; I often don't get that feeling when playing other games.

9:07 That's Mysterio's medallion. It makes you invisible for a few seconds when you croutch. The invisibility also goes away when you stand up or shoot. Like Mysterio, other bosses located all around the island have their own medallions with unique powers and abilities. You gotta be careful though, as medallions allow enemy players to see your hypothetical location in the map It's really cute to see a new player enjoying their first matches. Fortnite gets way more hate than it deserves, it's honestly a really fun game.
