Yeeep. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised about this flick. The moment the fourth gal showed up, I had a nervous chuckle of "Ahaha, but the cat doesn't count right?". The moment the smith put on the armor and made the fifth was an immediate "Oh, someone's gonna fucking die tonight". In the end, it's easy to ignore the cat, but counting it there were exactly four survivors. _Yeah..._
To be fair, siedges take well over 4 hunters. And in Frontier, Raviente's fight takes like 8 hunter slots. So maybe they were just misfortuned enough to die (or didn't bring enough potions)
Yeah, and somehow the animation style gave me somekind of nostalgic feelings, It brings back memories that never existed before, like in the past I ever watched it on TV after playing the original first MH on PS2. Maybe I felt familiarity because the animation style make me remember Starship Troopers animated series and Hot Wheels Acceleracers animation which was my favorites when I was a kid I really adore this masterpiece, sadly they not planning to continue the animation😢 Atleast I can reimagined this netflix animation as a lost media which was originally aired when the first game launch to promote the game.
I'm talking about the netflix animation not the NCH's parody though. But, I love this video too because it show me that NCH and other MH fans like the netflix adaptation too.
@@prasmahendra4172 For my part, I did not like the film. It's definitely better than the live-action movie, but the length of the movie doesn't help. To quickly summarize what I don't like: the ubiquitous puns, a very bad fan-service (saying full names of monsters just to say "look, we're quoting monsters to please the fan!" it doesn't work) , and above all: the rushed scenario, which makes some characters anecdotal (especially those who die), and other small problems. Otherwise, this reanimated version is super nice!
@@vcdlucario43 thats just ace cadet. He always was obnoxious with the puns we learned his name was aiden in world. Besides it is infinitely better than their take on Dragons Dogma
Fun fact; 1. Mae and Ravi straight up died because the hunt is not officially backed up by the Guild proper and thus they dont have the felyne carting service with them. 2. The party in the Lunastra hunt consisted of *six* personals instead of the maximum four, a big no-no according to in-universe Guild hunter SOP (before Rise retcons this). According to the Kokoto Village Chief when he was a young hunter he always go in a team of four. But when a Lao Shan Lung starts stirring shit up his fiancee begs him to allow her to join in because they are going to need all the help they can get against an elder dragon. The fiancee died during the hunt, and so the Chief made the rule to never hunt in a team with more than four people. I noticed a lot of people dont really have a positive opinion on LotG, which is a shame. It manages to capture the feel of those sick intro cinematics that all MH games prior to World has. It tells a decent story while being meticulously respectful to the established lore in the source material, like the aformentioned 2 above, the fact that the only repel Lunastra because killing EDs is something that literally never happens outside of the player character, and tons of little "I clapped when I saw it" things, etc. Do I prefer a nature documentary in the world of MH? Absolutely. Would I be down for more LotG? Definitely.
I personally didn't enjoy the movie as much because of the kid's overly can-do attitude. He never lost it throughout the flashback segment of the movie, and never really reflected enough that his own ineptitude caused 2 people to die (stemming not properly setting up the trap). I always thought he was a Handler hiding as a Hunter. I know it's a trope, but it's rather annoying.
Also, I think realistically even on Guild-approved Hunts, there is still the risk of death even with Felyne insurance/rescue services. Given the sheer amount of destruction most large monsters can put out, there's no way a human (even one as super-strong and buff as the Hunters) would survive some of the 1-hit KO attacks due to the sheer force or elemental hazards behind it. But gameplay wise it would be annoying to have to make a new character every time you get over-killed in the games. But you were right in that they did show how hunting in a group larger than 4 is considered bad luck for Hunters, which is why the Guild only allows for more than 4 Hunters when the expected destruction and loss of life is so much worse than the possible Hunter casualties, such as repelling the Jhen Mohran from tearing through a city, or attempting to capture and repel Zorah Magdaros before it causes a natural disaster.
I didn't have high expectations for the movie as most video game movies aren't good but it was good enough and respected the lore. I would be down to see a 2nd or similar kind of mh movie.
@@ForcedHandleName Aiden only acted like that given this was a past version of him, he shared that same attitude in the games he appeared in but that attitude got better with each future part of the series. I also think Mae and Ravi dying had to do with it being an elder dragon. and the danger involved.
