First foundation is way prettier and suits you more,, might sound strange but you look healthier too
Your brainwashed to believe pale is unhealthy
yea fre
I prefer to be pale it's look like what I use to seeing of koreans
It is not strange. That paper white one makes her look anemic. I used to legit think that most Korean girls are anemic due to some mass ED. Turns out it's just make up.
@@ripsanskrit3609 in media it might look good but trust me in real life it does not look that good
in camera it looks fine, but ive seen girls in seoul and yep… it looks like theyre wearing mask
like it’s clown face paint or a clay mask 😭
They could just use a filter instead
@@EmmaSaikia you can't use a filter irl
@@MughalQueen12🧠🧠
Yep everyone can see the white clown and the borders of their hair is all their real color, looks off
She looks like the main actress of true beauty.
I thought the same
yeah.. moon ga young
i was thinking that too
Omggg u thought the same thing
Yesssss
I prefer one that matches my skin because too light looks like I’m wearing a makeup mask LOL
Whatever blends into your natural skin at the neck and with your hands
That's what I do too. I hate when you approach your hands to your face and then you can see you look like a tomato.
It's the reason I don't wear make ups when I was younger up till my 30s. I hve 3 different shade of face, neck and arms, So I gave up.
@@nurimahrasidz271same 😭😭
the annoying thing for me is that all 3 of those are different colours😭 my face is so different to my neck which is so different to my hands. i suppose thats due to sun exposure on my hands but im not sure about the rest, im rigorous with sunscreen above the chest!
@@chickenfoot2423 The skin on your face is thinner, so it can often look different due to the blood underneath. My face is a lot pinker than my neck for this reason
For a natural everyday look go for the one matching your skin but if you want to have contour then use the one lighter than your own and use a contour that matches your skin. Less work adding the lights and darks and it's easier to go darker than lighter in makeup.
Yess I noticed this after switching to a lighter shade. Contouring has become so much easier!
@@BangtanBangtanBusan Dior forever glow!
Kpop idols do this; light reflects weirdly and the texture of the skin doesn't look like skin anymore, and appears more like some kind of aluminium foil. I personally don't like it and associate it with stage makeup/ costume makeup
That filter doing gods work 😭💀
Right! Not only is she wearing a filter but she’s sat in front of the window on a likely cloudy day to appear even paler.
@@madlie2452did you just make that up
@@Iotuseater How did I make that up when she’s clearly in front of a muted light source? Just say you have no idea how lighting works and move on.
@@madlie2452 so because she recorded on a cloudy day she’s trying to appear paler?
I am tan, I used to try lighter skin one and I felt weird, it’s doesn’t look like me. So I rather wear the one that match my skin. It’s may seem like I’m wearing nothing but I’m more comfortable with that
Natural skin is always better
Am I the only one who thinks she looks like Moon Gayoung a bit??? Regardless, love your content.💕
Not just you I swear I saw a resemblance to someone but I couldn't point out who but your comment just made me realize
Dont you think she resembles Chaeyeon from DIA a bit too?
i wanted to say that too!
I thought she looks like that girl from April that got cancelled!
Yes in the beginning lol
With the history of and ongoing colorism, it kind of sucks to still have people wearing too light of a shade and calling it "being born flawless" in comparison to your actual shade 😬
It's not colorism.
Even queen Elizabeth wore white powder on her face. It's a universal thing where if you are out in the sun, you tan. If you are not, then you are generally more wealthier and more youthful looking (UV rays cause skin aging).
So it's everyone that prefers fair skin. This existed before Asians even knew there were black and white people.
White people don't even have white skin anyway. They have translucent and pink skin.
Get over yourself my god.
@@elmolovesyou2320 no u
Same with the west and tan skin, dark foundation + bronzer
I would use both. The natural on all my face and the lighter in the t area of the face, sort of like the concealer. So it doesn't change much from the rest of my body/ neck and still gives you the light but also it looks more tridimensional.
i personally like a lighter foundation. tho in the west, people prefer darker skin to look ‘tan’
or their color lol
Most people just get their skin tone.
in the west prefer to match their neck color
Colorism is very prevalent in Korea, but it definitely exists in the west as well.
i hate the fake tan trends can we ALL just like our natural color? no hate to the people but it just feels weird to NEED spray tans to be confident😭
not even that, but bronzer looks iffy in person, and i see girls bathing in it, i wish we left the orange face in 2001 💔
I prefer to match my foundation to my skin having already light skin trust me I don’t want to look lighter 😅 I’m from California the land of tan skin and depending on the season I will go darker on my foundation just so I get a more tan skin ❤ just preference I guess … you look beautiful either way ❤
Reminder, this only looks good on camera. In person, this type of makeup (that's too light for your skin and hides your undertone)looks absolutely crazy
i will always think embracing the importance of getting natural vitamin D from the sun (with a sunscreen oc) to get a golden warm tan will ALWAYS make some look so much healthier and more alive! Like they are adventurous and full of energy!
Girl you look exactly the same with that natural foundation. Your skin looks PERFECT
natural one is best the shade match looks more realistic the lighter shade looks fake
Your natural skin colour foundation is beautiful, makes you look alive, healthy and gorgeous
The way the first one was already a shade lighter than her skin
no
@@Shaannooonn yes
foundation often looks like that at first before blending it out
@@katherinegriffinnope
The colour doesn't stay exactly the shade it was when first applied because it oxidizes, plus after you add stuff like contour, colour correctors, blush and/or anything powder it affects the end result
Lighter, because it actually is the one that matches my neck. My face is pale and my skin is thin, so, the slight redness (lessened thanks to my skincare but still present) makes it look darker
But not by much and not anything full-coverage
I think the one that maches looks better. Like waaaay better, more natural and alive.
I prefer whatever you think makes you look beautiful!
Matching foundation all the way
i think both look very pretty on you. it honestly depends on the look you’re going for so i don’t think i have any preference
Both look very nice imo
I personally use a concealer that is a little lighter ( I couldn't find my shade) and it really does brighten your face up
The brighter one looks better specifically on you because it makes your eyes stand out more and contrasts more with your hair colour
You look like Ju kyuong from true beauty...
You look like Moon Ga Young ✨♥️
Why dont they apply it on their neck?
Right??? This is just plain bad technique. If you're gonna be swayed by beauty standards at least commit 😭
Her eye makeup is so cute.
I don’t know if I can see a clear difference when it seems like there’s a color filter in your video
I‘m always confused why people refuse to actually match their shades. The east goes 1,2 lighter. While in the west people tend to go darker. It’s your skin tone nothing wrong with that.
I think it is less "refusing" to match, rather the foundation doesn't have your exact shade. A perfect match is rare, especially if you take undertone into consideration too. Otherwise, you're right, the east would generally rather choose a shade lighter if there's no match, and the west would choose a shade darker - but not everyone, i prefer a lighter shade too, just because a not-so-good undertone match is easier to hide with a lighter shade.
Colourism
I prefer my own skin.
Matching is best for everyday wear, lighter is usually good for glam events/places with strong lighting
I have really tan arms and legs but my face is white so I couldn't go any whiter
She's soooo beautiful 💕
Natural, all tones are beautiful. I don't care where you come from. Your natural skin tone is always top shelf
Id say for everyday, the natural one looks better, but i could see occasions where the lighter would work,, they both look good to me
The one on the right is gorgeous
I think the matching one looks better but- YOUR NATURAL SKIN I AM SO JEALOUS 😭😭😭❤❤❤
I like the one that matches your skintone more.
0N is better by far, I think! Looks much livelier and suits you much more. Isn't it all about enhancing and not covering?
stuff that matches makes coving acne redness less obvious in person generally. All foundations will often crack or rub off in areas where you move your face a lot (like around the mouth) so having something that matches would make that less noticeable.
Idk about china and japan but i saw a video were a girl gives new apdates about korean beauty standards and she said pale skin is not Beauty standard now even if you are darker you will still consider as beautiful
I love Korean makeup because they actually make me shade
It’s distracting seeing it on k drama and just looks weird
I'm from the US, so I was raised to prefer matching foundation, but I also just like seeing peoples actual skin tone. I think when combined with other colors in your makeup that flatters one's natural coloring has more variety in the world if we have foundation that matches.
I prefer a foundation thats slightly lighter, not that much lighter. Wearing a slightly lighter colour brightens the face and also saves you when the foundation oxidises.
It depends for me. I prefer my natural shade for when doing a natural makeup look. But if I’m going glam, like contour, bronzer, blush and the whole shebang. A slightly lighter base actually works better cause of all the other stuff you’re adding to it. But just a little lighter, not a lot.
She’s so pretty bro
Honestly they look identical too
Nah I definitly prefer a base that matches my skin ton. I use this exact same foundation and shade (ON) and it's perfect. My skin is already really light as it is. I'd probably look sick with the second one tbh
I do recommend this foundation tho. It's a bit expensive, but there's lots of product and the quality is really good. It makes my skin looks almost flawless and is really natural.
Lighter one all the way. People are trying too hard to be on trend with self acceptance with this, but lighter face in makeup is a go for many reasons in ALL skin shades. The key is - it has to be a bit lighter but not too much lighter and match the undertone. Has nothing to do with colorism, brighter skin = newer skin, and we like our faces to look young and fresh, that’s what all make up is for (blush makes it look like your blood circulation is young and moving, lips, hair etc etc…). It’s all about youth and cleanliness… People in the comments just say whatever to seem cool and fend for all things natural… but if you use foundation, it’s not natural regardless… might as well use it as it was intended (to brighten up your face).
We Asians prefer lighter foundations because it makes our face stand out, you can see her neck looks darker and it makes her jawline look sharper
And personally for me my foundation becomes darker after a while I have no idea why
So if I use my exact shade I'm gonna look a shade or two darker after a few hours so I always use a lighter shade so after a few hours the foundation changes to my skin color
We also don't use contour or bronzer normally so applying lighter foundations can elevate our features
Yea all makeup oxidizes & will look dark. I’m Latina but we also prefer lighter. Everyone does tbh (but Americans pretend otherwise on social media 😂)
@@scarletsletter4466Who's we? I don't prefer to look lighter than my actual skin tone it looks ridiculous and make the skin looks greyish
@@scarletsletter4466and Americans tend to prefer a more golden or tanned skin tone so they are not pretending
@@milacolman it only looks greyish if you wear a very light shade that doesn't have your undertone or a white foundation
It won't look grey if you're applying a foundation that's only a shade or two lighter and has your undertone and not white
I think the matching one is perfect and much better on a daily basis
You’re beautiful and both but your natural skin tone color and make up is beautiful. You don’t have to go whiter!!
You look like Ju Kyung. From true beauty!!!
The natural one is super beautiful, I think the only way the paler one would pass is if you warmed it up with some blush or bronzer
Matching looks more beautiful
You have perfect skin ❤ if you are going to wear makeup, you might as well go for the lighter shade that makes a difference
That’s what I’ve been doing!!😁
People would obviously say first as they believe in natural beauty (because we’re online.) but imo both look nice
My face is two and sometimes even three times darker than my body and neck, idk why cause i use a LOT of sun protection and i dont have that much of hyperpigmentation or tan but it does so lighter base look more natural for me. When I don't see the sun for a time (like when i travel to not tropical places) my face is the same tone my base is so "lighter" is also can be a match.
Im the same, even my scalp is way far lighter, 😂.. but a make up artist told me to get the same tone as your chest or tummy😊
@@jhingbangayan762 ya, that's what I do, I know my face is like a fair but kinda tan tone but then my chest and neck are really white most of the year so I just bought what match my chest and neck cause I don't wanna look like I tan only my face
We should be proud of whatever skin tone we have. Bumpy skin is also a natural beauty,,,
me who uses a darker shade for drag
Always what matches the skin tone. Idk who told anyone a different face and neck color is ok lol
She looks like moon ga young ❤
I always look like a ghost if I get anything a bit lighter. But for some reason, Korean and Chinese girls can pull it off. The lighter one looked so good on you. 😮
どっちも可愛い~!!美人すぎだしどっちも似合ってるけど、ナチュラルなら右で、バッチバチに決めたいなら左が好きかな。
natural makeup ✨️
I usually go a shade lighter because adding contour, eyeshadow, blush etc brings the tone down a bit. Plus oxidation as a person living in tropical climate yadda yada yadda. If I go for a perfect match, my skin typically looks dull and dark after 3-4 hours
I choose the one that matches in shade but also I got to pick one that's neutral despite my skin being warm bc layering a yellow undertone foundation will intensify the yellow in my skin and it'll no longer match
Honestly they both look pretty nice so I think it depends on preference, but I personally prefer the matched one. It just has a warmer hue and a sense of earthiness that I think makes you look healthy and bright. The lighter one is okay, but it’s a bit too pale in comparison and makes you look a bit dull and cold.
I I prefer lighter shade. Both me and my mum apply powder to get lighter and fresher looking face. It looks more awake and catches attention ❤ A dull face looks sleepy and tired
I like a sliiiightly darker tone, and when it oxidize on me, it looked more natural
When the ears, scalp and hands look darker than the makeup it makes me laugh
Well damn, my scalp is lighter than my face, my hand is darker, my ears are usually red - what should i match my foundation?
Moon ga young
I really thought she did moonga youngs makeup
The natural is more vibrant, healthy and glowing. The white is good if you have a specific look in mind, like if you want to look like a doll or a toned down goth or a serious halloween costume.
You look amazing in both !
The first one is definitely better imo. It looks flawless and natural
I like the lighter one, I can't tell much of a difference but you look positively glowing!
Normally i like toning up but looking natural, I personally think its fine to use tone up products similar to in the us even if someone got a tan or tanning sprays it doesnt mean they’re insecure about there skin they just prefer a lil bronze similar to how i like using tone ups, sunscreens and 3 shades lighter than me but it doesnt mean im insecure i just prefer a nice and bright whitening, so i just use a cushion foundations 3 shades lighter, but i like looking natural like im barely wearing much makeup so i just use a cushion spatula to apply my cushion foudation and blend with the puff and then put on a tone up cream on my neck so my neck color matches my face and it looks amazing, again theres nothing wrong with tone ups it doesnt make you a colorist, if you like tone up and whitening, do it! And if you like bronziness and tanning, do that! But make sure to remember your skin will still always be beautiful the way it is and your skin tone should not be a insecurity and something to feel good about but if you want to tone up/fake tan do it by preference and not by insecurity ❤
you don't even need makeup, you're already beautiful 😍
Actually I usually go for a shade lighter as I have face tan so my face is slightly darker than my neck and other body parts ..but when I put foundation it matches my neck and it looks perfect ❤❤❤😅
You look like the actress who played the female role in true beauty. I forgot her name but you’re so pretty ❤
Maybe like tone down the smoothing filter so we can see better
Natural one looks amazing!
Natural one😊🎉
Girl... you are drop dead gorgeous
I tend to go for a more warmer look. When the water hits my face - Then and only then... do I realize how light my skin actually is. But the warm color foundation makes me feel alive. So I'll always go for the 1-2 shade darker. Idc what anybody says.
The hands give it away
The one that matches your skin is way better! Your skin is already very light, the whiter foundation just looks unnatural like when a kpop fansite makes the pictures so over exposed, it washes you out.
The natural one makes you look naturally flawless, and you look healthier, definitely the natural one.
She looks like im ju kyung from TRUE BEAUTY
That's a hard one, because both looks great, but if i saw you in my day to day i personally would prefer the matching one, the node look is my favorite look
You look like like lim jukyung 😮❤❤
why do u look like like true beauty lim ju Kyung??❤❤
I prefer 1 shade lighter for foundations so I look brighter. My skin tends to oxidize even with just skincare and sunscreen so putting a similar shade of foundation makes it way too orange after an hour 😂
A tad TAD bit lighter than your real skin tone cause the make up oxidise is understandable, but some just use different different tone and shade. It's so obvious when you see their neck and shoulder.
That's why kpop idols looks like their face is a light bulb. I just learned that Thai call this makeup habit 'floating face'
Natural ❤❤❤
