Thanks for doing gods work!! Being an actual tech enthusiast, your reviews are miles ahead of others who just read spec sheets. Had a question: would it be possible to remotely add a new user+pin with this?
Yes you can, you need the person who's getting their fingerprint added to be near the door lock, and you can initiate and add the person from anywhere.
@@TalkingstuffNet in big houses the bell is on the gate but the door lock is inside after the driveway so yeah it doesn't have range although it works sometimes.
I think it's only one gateway a lock, but I have only one, so can't test it out. It does link the doorbell with the lock too, so it might work. But I can't gurantee.
As of now it's 1 gateway for 1 lock but Qubo support gave an indication that they are likely to release a software update which will allow 1 gateway to connect with multiple locks. Interestingly when I click on Add wifi gateway under the lock settings I see two options to connect wifi 1) Video Door bell Pro 2) Wifi Gateway - though I am not able to connect the lock to my video door bell wifi gateway
If we don’t have the Lock gateway, do we still get the log of Entry events remotely(without the gateway)? My motive is to get the log of entry events remotely without the gateway? Is it possible in this lock?
I talked to their customer care and they mentioned that the ‘Alerts’ get updated from anywhere even if I don’t have a gateway device. Not really sure if they gave me the correct information. I like this device but concerned about getting live alerts of Door access. If I’m not getting it remotely without the gateway, then it is an additional cost for me.
When I first installed the doorlock I didn't have the Gateway, to check the logs I needed to connect via Bluetooth. Once I picked up the WiFi gateway I can monitor the logs from anywhere. Bluetooth has a limitation of 30 feet.
can we turn off all security features and turn on when we want so that elderly people can use it ...that is can it behave as a normal door lock when we want...for eg just turn the lock handle and enter?
You need to add the Qubo skill on the amazon alexa app, and it will be found. You need to setup voice unlock from the app as it is disabled by default.
As per the website they say any qubo Smart doorlock, but I've only tried it with the Qubo select. If you have an existing qubo lock, open settings within the app for the lock and if it shows wifi gateway it can be linked.
@@TalkingstuffNet Thanks for an informative video.. as per customer service they say if we have 2 Qubo locks and we need Wifi setup on both we will need 2 Wifi Gateways.. this is quite a useless expense when Lavna and others can operate multiple locks on the same gateway ... can you confirm if 1 Qubo Wifi Gateway can be used with 2 Qubo locks ?
@@TalkingstuffNet Thanks for the update, helps if you check and update. I'm planning to buy qubo door lock - should I go with SELECT or ULTRA ? any major differences
Tap on the gear icon on the top right and then select change master pin to change admin pin number. To change pin numbers under pin option, just delete the wrong pin or add another one.
Much needed video sirrrr
Wow, didnt know something like this existed!
Waw I was not knowing that last feature thanks ordering gateway now
This is a really good device, I thought it will only work with the door lock.
That integration with the doorbell is really helpful 👍🏻
Nice video 😃

Had a question: would it be possible to remotely add a new user+pin with this?
Yes we can add a pin remotely.
What's the difference in Qubo select and Qubo ultra models?
As far as I understand, only the copper colour. Everything else is the same, even the requirement for the external gateway for wifi access.
@@TalkingstuffNet Thanks, that' what I figured. No other difference other than color
There are other smart locks like the Godrej cactus connect which works without an additional hardware. Why should we use this instead?

Makes the Qubo smart door lock a better option now
Hi, can i remotely add fingerprint via gateway?
Yes you can, you need the person who's getting their fingerprint added to be near the door lock, and you can initiate and add the person from anywhere.
Is this gateway hub has to be with the same smart lock brand?
Yes, this gateway works with Qubo smart door locks only.
How far can the gateway be from the locks?
It needs to be within 5 metres from the door lock and max 20 metres from the wi-fi router.
Possible to detect and use it on xyz brand?
This gateway works with Qubo smart door locks only.
Will this work with any other smartlock?
No, this gateway works with Qubo smart door locks only.
The doorbell pro unlocks without the gateway but what is the max range between doorbell and doorlock ?
Both of them need to be in range of the Gateway, not each other.
@TalkingstuffNet I don't have a seperate gateway. The pro doorbell has gateway hardware within the doorbell
Generally the doorbell and doorlock are installed next to each other. Not sure about the pro doorbell, but my gateway is around 10-12 feet away.

Would it work with all qubo locks? I have the basic one - Essential
Check advanced settings, if you have an option to add a gateway it will work.
Thanks. Nice video. WIth the qubo app, can you leave the lock in 'unlocked' position permanently? and lock it only when you want to?
We cannot, it Locks automatically in a few seconds. Using the Gateway we can at least unlock from anywhere we are, also via voice.
Thanks @@TalkingstuffNet
Thanks.. Is it 1 Wifi Gateway per lock or can I use 1 Wifi Gateway with 2 locks.. (usage scenario is safety door + main door )

Is there any lock, in which existing wifi network would be enough to access the lock??
I have tried out the lavna lock which has WiFi inbuilt. Here's the comparison video

@@TalkingstuffNet thanks, I was looking for this info, and was confused, very informative video
Does this work with 2 locks?
I don't think so, as it is provisioned and visible as linked within the Locks options.

It can sync the log details via Bluetooth, but you will need to be at least 30 feet close to the lock. Wifi allows you to sync the logs from anywhere.

The door lock needs 8 AA batteries ?? How long these batteries last ?
As per use it will drain faster or slower, company states 8 months when using Duracell alkaline batteries.
8 or 4 batteries ??
Much required information sir. Thanks.
Does it require active internet connection?
I will have to check this if it works locally without Internet, but mostly it should connect to the qubo severs to work.
