Found your channel today and ran down your rabbit hole. Great content, learned more since I woke up than I have known my whole life about saltwater fishing. Thank you.
I am amazed at all the different ways you catch fish. Not only do you catch them, you show how you catch them, the equipment, how you clean and how you cook them. I used to own a 25' offshore boat at Orange Beach nearly 30 years ago and I never even tried to catch fish from the inland waterway. I wish I had been able see your videos back then. I wish I could go back down there and fish. Watching you do it is the next best thing.
You can open up the entrance holes in your minnow trap if you want larger bait. The smaller ones can swim out easier, but if you don't want them anyway it means less sorting. Another entertaining and informative video. When you can't get to the water as often as you'd like it's great to watch videos like yours. Thank you.
Depending on where you're at, there might be a restriction on the size of the entrance to the trap. Used to be one inch here. Best to always check your local laws and regulations
Another great video Stephen! Probably my favorite you’ve done! Great cooking segment. I like the idea of showing more about what goes into prepping for a successful trip, like catching your own bait. I think you could make some videos just on that facet that could potentially bring in new viewers. The right way to spool a reel. Matching line size and reels. Matching reels and rods. Explaining rod sizes, weights, speeds. Best knots for different applications. When to use a swivel. When to use a leader. Hook types and their pros and cons. How much and what type of weight for different rigs and conditions. Etc. It’s all stuff that you touch on in every video, It would just be fun to see you take it more in depth with the why’s, when’s and how’s.
I love the fishing exclusive videos but MAN.. This was one of my favorite videos you've done. All around content and information from gathering the local bait to eating your catch. And we learned a bit about your life growing up.. AWESOME
It's always a great video, I imagine being there with you fishing like a boss. I've been a 100% service connected disabled veteran after my 12 years experience in the US Army. Thanks, and God bless yall!
Steve, just wanted to tell you that you have reinvigorated my desire to fish. I have logged more time on water than 99% of people out there but have been surfing a lot the past several years and not fishing as much. I still have a bass boat but no good for saltwater, I live On Padre Island CC, Tx. Anyways, your offshore/light tackle vids have me looking for a boat so I can get back out there. I got real into offshore stuff few years back. Took lots of business customers out on charters and learned great deal and got my own equip for it. Cant wait to find right boat and go after some king, spanish, snapper, Mahi, tripple tail, other. Thanks for motivation. Also, just like to say how cool it is that you use so much of the fish you keep. You seem like a very respectful guy and I hope that shows up as success in your life. Good luck to you!
I remember using a minnow trap like that as a kid growing up in Missouri. They work great! Great job educating folks on how to use them Stephen. I love the idea of the rechargeable aerator!!! Nice Spotted Sea Trout 👍
I always used chicken liver in my minnow traps. I'm going to start using dry dog food since it's not as nasty or smells terrible. I know the wife won't let me use any of our Blue Buffalo dry dog food. I don't eat fish, but that plate looks delicious. Nice job on creating it. We go to the Indian buffet every couple of months. I love the butter chicken and naan the best. It's so delicious when both are hot.
WOW Steve I love your channel and how calm and precise you explain everything from catching to cooking great job ,you sure bring us into the moment .Thanks for sharing.
Nice looking redfish and trout love redfish looks really good the way you cooked it I from south Louisiana bout 10 miles south of New Orleans I like my redfish on a courtbillion that's nice little spicy red sauce with the trinity in the sauce, and some creole seasoning, nice video for your minnow trap to keep your dog food and minnows separate get a small mess net cut the bottom out to your desired size to fit in your trap put your dog food in it tie off top of net and it won't get dog food and minnows mixed together
I use a little can of cat food to bait my minnows. Just crack it open a little for the juices to get out. Then all you gotta do it remove it and dump your minnows in the bucket. Love the vids!
Y'all are running lawn mowers and weed eaters while I'm blowing out the snow in my driveway. Man. I'm a little jealous. I love curry and that looked delicious. I'm gonna try this with some sheepshead (gaspergou) in the Spring. I always get a few while jigging for walleye during the run. Your content is awesome sir. One Vet to another.
HELLO BAMA SALTWATER..UR GADGET IS VERY NICE..AND UR TRAP FOR BAIT IS AMAZING.WATCHING HERE IN PASIG PHILIPPINES.STAY SAFE ALWAY'S AND GOD BLESSED UR FAMILY.
That food looks great! I had a neighbor from India in Sarasota Fl. Who cooked curry type foods for her church. I was an offshore captain and brought home fresh fish quite often and she would make curry grouper and snapper for us. It was so good! That brought back some memories. Great job man!!! Be safe!
That curry looked good! Never tried or even heard of curry leaves, sounds fun. Wish I could have tried your dish. That was a fun video from start to finish. Fun you lived in Kenya for a couple years, too. Tell us about that next time. And I wanna hear some of your military background, too. 🍛
Wow love these catch, clean and eat videos. U need ur own fishing show. Come local gulf shores/ orange beach. Ur local guide to everything fishing here is ur guy.
Salivating like crazy brother! American born Indian man here with ancestry from Goa and Mumbai. We cooked fish curry with salmon. Blown away by the wild fish here. You go man!
@BamaSaltwater I'm sitting in the desert preparing for a class. Retired from the Army few years back. I love saltwater fishing. Brother is in Florida. We have got to use the popping cork on inshore Indian River reds. Thanks a ton for the information and the insight on boating. May buy a similar boat for Florida.
Love me some Indian food too. My second favorite/cultural food. Could eat it every day. I like village traditional style eating, it’s even better when you eat it with your hands
Boy you know how to make a guy hungry for fish curry that's my favorite dish yummy, haven't tried using red fish only had it with salmon which i think its to over cooked but had had it with tilapia which is moist, next time i catch a red I'll have to make it, thanks
