It's like punk rock meets jazz improv. I can't get enough of Leo P. Just awesome. I like Lucky Chops too. The horn player there puts a Mexi-tint to the music.

Kelvin Grant Hey Kelvin, my setup was very simple: Sony A7R II + Sony ECMXYST1M.CE7. The venue „YAAM“ just got moved a few blocks from their original location to make space for new offices/appartments/whatever ... Their sound system looked way too good, too massive for this mid-sized venue, so I assume they‘ve got paid a little extra to make their move a little easier. But anyway - this tiny little Sony mic is really awesome for concerts. No matter the loudness / sound volume.

Leo's stamina and control is amazing. (the percussion man, omg talk of physical stamina!.... I could never even in my 98 pushup in 2 min days... well maybe, I was in the military, lol)

Leo is among the best bari sax players. He's made the bari sax great again. He's inspired many new bari sax players.

@@lildiq9989 I would have to save some money first, they're known to be expensive. I know I could go for an alto or tenor but I'm so drawn to the sound of the Bari, that's what I want to learn.
The Lewis go on eBay, type bari sax, buy either tashin or mendini, those are the best cheap baris, although you will need a new mouthpiece for them
It is HARD to play the baritone sax like that. That dude has a crazy set of lungs

I always feel like TMZ are playing electronic dance music, only manually.

@@1madmaxx80 I have tried listening to jazz several times, and it just doesn't do much for me. TMZ are the jazziest type thing I like.
these guys and lucky chops got it goin on. dont get enough love. just a matter of time. Leo P is generational, nothing he cant do with that sax, soft and smokey lounge, classic big band, funk, house music, dude is legit, and dances how he feels to boot. hope they come to KC some time.

Don't get me wrong, I love Too Many Zooz. I've been following them for years, but everything they play starts to sound the same after awhile.
Hi End Moraine, I totally get what you mean. When I went with my friends to this concert, it was their first time seeing TMZ. I told them: “If you like this special type of music, it will be GREAT - if you don’t, you’ll get bored real quick”. When Leo was still part of Lucky Chops - a bigger group with more instruments, playing well known pop songs, it - of course - was something completely diffent and way easier to listen and understand. But look what David is carrying - he has his entire drumset on his knees and hips. I’d say you can’t handle much mure than that over longer periods. TMZ is equally special and limited due to the selection of their instruments. If they’d add some more or a singer, it may gets less repetitive, but they may also loose their special, distinctive sound. 😃

these guys exhaust me, how they play is unbelievable. Takes a lot of wind to play any of these instruments.
Trumpet detractors have the wrong perspective and have never played brass, played brass hard. He, the trumpet would not be there, with them, if he was not perfect. He is.
