I'm in love with AT mics for years.😘

Perfect timing, Carter! I’m mic’ing up my studio kit for the first time this month, and your demo/review (including the technical details) sells me on the AT gear. As ever, your feel and subtlety provides a lifetime of inspiration to me, a clunky amateur. I aspire to sound even a hundredth as musical as you.

The 5045s are great! Engineer Al Schmitt was using them a lot for drum overheads later in his life. I love pairing mine with ribbons on sources

@@cartermclean where is the second mic located? Could only see one microphone on video.. maybe not paying attention enough) Sorry for mistakes, English is not my mom's language
P.S subscribed for about a year, you are my absolute favorite musician on drum set on youtube! (And One of my absolute favorite besides youtube, now that i think of it.) Watched most of the stuff from your playing before you were invited on Drumeo, but that Drumeo lesson is my absolute favorite for musicianship -- feel, sound, groove, technique -- well, all of it.
Thank you so much for posting these videos, very inspirational for playing, recording as well, Just -- Huge Thanks!

those heads were the first ones i bought from evans and i put them on a MIJ kit from like the 60's that my friend's dad had in the attic for like 30 years. to our surprise they sounded freaking tasty from the get with minimal tuning. that's what sold me on evans heads.

What are those heads, exactly? What Evans models? Thanks in advance!

@@m4drums for sure, bud. I should add that I would avoid using them on the snare if you're a hard hitter. I use a heavier duty head for my snare.

@@jdion79 I'm not such a hard hitter, ( I mean, when necessary I could, but usually don't)) But - huge thanks for the info, brother! Couldn't figure those heads out - what these were. I mean, I follow Carter for some time now, and sometimes it's hard to tell which Evans heads he's using. Big than You!
(Absolutely love Carter's playing though, one of my absolute favorite musicians on a drum set, and not just on youtube)

Carter's playing is always nasty. Everything he plays has a hard dose of feel that causes stank face. But his videos also tell me that the majority of people treat recording/engineering as an afterthought. Not taking anything away from Ludwig, but he could make a $30 garage-sale set sound like a high-end kit costing thousands.
