No Better ! love the porch chat , I started with recurves from my Dad's sporting goods store , later picked up a fred bear whitetail compound , hated it , got rid of it , got a bear , kodiak and a bear montana long bow , never looked back , traditional all the way, many thrilling hunts , but they don't always go as planned, thats hunting , good on ya Brad , keep trying! Great episode guys. My first bow kill was with a Ben Pearson recurve and a Bear broad head many years ago in the early 80's.
I started traditional archery again 3 yrs ago, I've killed 4 deer one was a 11 pnt with a custom longbow. But shooting a doe with trad bows is as exciting as shooting a booner with a compound. Stick with it the rewards a far more than a wheelie bow!

I've hunted 7 elk seasons with my recurve. I have shot at a few but had the same luck.

you guys need to get some Thermocel's for mosquitos, I have hunted with them and it never has affected smell with the elk.
Shooting a recurve like shooting a compound? Who would hold the draw on a recurve like a compound?
I think someone needs to come up with Different sense so it smells like the area your hunting!
Brad when traditional hunting you have to pick a spot. If you look at the entire animal you will miss trust me. It's a little brown spot right behind the front leg on most deer or elk.
Stick to a compound if you don’t have the time to shoot traditional gear ALL THE TIME! Going back and forth between the two really doesn’t work.
I agree and disagree for me whitetail turkey and hogs is trad gear but for my elk bear and antelope I'm taking my compound

Could have thrown the arrow and got closer
