  • In this video we wrap up our time in LBL. We find an area with lots of dispersed camping and then jump over to the East side where we find some more camping and some other interesting sights, including the home of the last resident of LBL. We also discover a Google Map Fail!

That's the old Ginger Creek Cabin area off 208 back in at least 1955 according to the old maps. Looked to have several building back there then. It didn't show on any maps starting in 1956.

@@tmar23 that's interesting! I'll have to do more research and check out some of the older maps. We love seeing what areas used to be. Thanks for sharing that info!

@@HEKNBAK You can look up USGS historical topographic map explorer. It allows you to overlay historical maps over a current map.

Another good one. Ya' went right by 209...great little spot. At the end of 208 there's a nice place but too many big tires the last time I was there. Lots of places to camp along 174,204,203,214. Another place fer me was at 11:30 Pryor bay turn left just before 201. Find the gravel on 204... nice camp also. ZZ.

Thanks for sharing that! We can't wait to get back out there again and keep exploring. So far we have only been out there in winter and early spring. We are betting it is gorgeous in the fall! We really appreciated you sharing your experience and knowledge with us!

Pay close attention to those maps. Most of the roads don't actually go all the way to the water's edge and LEO are now enforcing this with $180 tickets.

Good to know - thanks for sharing! Google maps can show roads that are no longer there or that the forest service has closed, so always a good idea to check the mvum.
