- Who is this man with the red face that most Chinese folks worship as a god? Find out here with me on who this very man is and what kind of a god is he.

I know who he is. He is a character who has the second highest atk stat under Lu Bu.
I’ve always considered that we Chinese treat him more like a Saint than a true God.
He is not a mere saint.. he is but a war god
If you look closely you would would see that medieval people would pray to saints much like how people prayed to specific gods; like for example praying for St. George in battle or praying for Mary for childbirth, much like how people prayed for Athena or Hera in Ancient Greece.
There are actually another major reason why he is worship.
Many later Emperors/leaders of china from different dynasty and age wishes to extol the virtues of loyalty among the common folks, and who else to use as the prime example of that virtue, Guan Yu. So he was consistently celebrated, while other deities might fade away, or lose importance, every next leader will bring him up because loyalty is something they all seek among their men
All paladins would view Guan Yu as their inspiration!
3:11 is not Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, but Guan Yu and his follower Zhou Cang (quite similar to Zhnag Fei with his short beard and big eyes)
I heard of Guan Yu from Maplestory :D There is a weapon called Guan Yu polearm and I used it when I played as Aran class. It was probably my favorite weapon to use. The polearm looks similar to the actual Guan Yu polearm :D

2:20 quan yu is shown to be on his knee bowing and then get executed. But my version is he stood and used his sword, ran it on his neak and ended his own life. He died standing straight.
One thing I know for sure is that his head was chopped off. He doesn’t use a sword though. Either way, he does die an honorable death. The video in the background was just a version of what Dynasty warriors interpreted his death.

Maybe he means Boddhisatva , his name in mahayan temple is Sangharama Bodhisatva
Han buddhism and Tibetan buddhism made him a buddha. Taoism also made him a god.

He killed himself. He was not on his knee
kimnguon lim, he was executed when he refused to surrender to Sun Quan because of his pride and honor. He lead a final escape for his troops and deceived Sun Quan, but in the end he was trapped with a few remaining troops and was executed afterwards. In a way that is suicide, but most Chinese would regard it as sacrifice.
