Thanks to Nancy for her persistence in bringing this story to light. It makes a difference! I’m a cancer survivor and relied on friends and family to be there for me. So now I’m curious about what the husband knew. Guess I’ll have to listen to the podcast.

Yeah unfortunately lying is not illegal, as messed up as it is. It was never his personal bank accounts or online activity to constitute the wire fraud :/ I also believe her mother had to have known at some point too

I hope it all comes out in this podcast . She was my sons principal at his christian school. She had manipulated all of us and these little kids were praying everyday before class for her recovery for this fake cancer that kept coming back.

@@HelloHello-zf2svshe lied about having a masters degree (it later came out that she dropped out) and that she was enrolled in a PhD program in Stanford and I guess they just took her word for it… Also in private schools they don’t really require the same credentials.
As a survivor of Hodgkins lymphoma, this makes me sick and angry. What an insult to those battling cancer and their caregivers. I feel awful for all those kind and generous people who gave her in so many ways. I'm glad she's going to jail but it should be longer.

She just robbed the lives of all the cancer victims who could have at least lived longer if they received the donations.

When I heard this podcast being promoted on another podcast, I kept thinking they were saying “Scumanda” so that’s the title I searched for without luck. After eventually finding the correctly titled podcast and listening to the first 3 episodes, I actually think ‘Scumanda’ is more appropriate. 😒
complete psycho. how she can manipulate all those people is beyond me. To me the worst part was staking the biological daughter from the mom and making the mom look crazy when she was actually the crazy one.
This gives me secondhand embarrassment. I hope her & the others who’ve done this shit, are blasted on every platform. If scammers are gonna scam, it’s only fair to keep their name & photo out there for everyone to see😊
Seeing something so sickening and callous such as this makes me literally sick to my stomach, knowing that I lost my grandmother to terminal lung cancer during my senior year of high school and losing my godfather to prostate cancer. If you want money, get a job. That's simple. But don't use something so serious and sensitive like cancer to take advantage of the generosity of strangers 💔

My dear sister and best friend passed a month ago from non-Hogkins, she fought so hard and left my beautiful nephews behind. It breaks my heart that anyone could use this misery as a money making scheme. Sadly, Amanda has proven herself to be a truly sick person but her illness is mental.

There is a special place in hell for this horrid scammer. 5 years in the slammer is not enough. The only reason she was nice to people was so that she could continue to scam & was particularly nice to actual cancer patients & their families so that she could mimic the behaviors etc.

This disgusts me to no end. My neighbor is battling breast cancer and could use the resources this woman got. I will never understand sociopathic people.
Just finished season 1 and I am literally sick to my stomach. Not only did she manipulate and exploit people’s kindness, generosity, and faith for her own narcissistic greed - but in doing so - she NEGATED every person’s lived experience who is actually fighting cancer, who has actually gone through something life-changing. How many other cancer fighters have gotten a whole community of support, 100+k, and act of kindness after act of kindness?? Every single REAL survivor and fighter deserves the love and support and she stole.
Being someone who tried to put a positive spin on my own life-changing disability (from covid not cancer) who she is and what she did contaminates anyone else’s effort to turn something horrific into a positive. I am repulsed and disturbed by her. Hopefully this podcast will remind us all to keep our eyes wide open, and to do so with humility. Don’t drink the coolaid. It sounds like in this community a lot of people did.

Just listened to the podcast. Riveting. The manipulation and damage Amanda did to her family and her friends is staggering. Friends bent over backwards for her. Amanda is a narcissist.

I feel like anyone who has suffered from cancer or lost someone to cancer should all go protest for her to be in longer. 5 years just isn’t enough and she’ll most likely not even serve the whole 5 years.
The max she could have gotten was 20 years but the judge said most get 18 months but she wanted to give more & settled on 5 years or 60 months
Glad she was charged. As a cancer survivor I am disgusted by her behaviour.

In my country you are not reliant on funds, there’s something called healthcare… I know that’s not the main point here in this story, but still important to add. Fraudsters wouldn’t even have a chance.
It’s funny, we call it “healthcare” too in the US and when you really think about it that label is not always appropriate. I’ve heard of so many cases of people being booted out of the hospital because insurance ran out, children not getting needed meds and treatments because their family can’t afford it. A lot of wonderful drs and nurses and staff but our “healthcare” isn’t very caring.
My god this is some sort of trend where people scamming others for cancer fraud.. thus probably my 7th video about this.... Very alarming

This podcast is excellent quality and I’m hooked only on the second episode and I’m so curious to know if her husband knew or was deceived also.& 5 years is nothing and I bet she gets out in 3 for good behavior 😑

Does anyone know if her husband was in on this, as well. I can’t find any information re: him.
He hasn’t been charged, but his daughter said she felt like he knew about all along and he seemed to be empty inside and just going along with it. In the podcast he also told a couple of people, including his daughter that Amanda had cancer. To me that indicates he is pushing the lie. Plus he ate the free food, went to all the charity events and free shows. He took advantage of the gifts and freebies just as much as she did.
Of course, he knew, as well as her mum

Perhaps prepare before an interview so you are aware that one of the people you are interviewing (Nancy) is the one who discovered and developed the story, and is the one who was sued. SMH

I've been seeing more and more cancer videos pop-up, and some of these cancer people I hate to say it. I'm a little skeptical that they even have cancer , never show a hospital, some never show doctors with them, the women talking the husband and then all of a sudden. Oh, well, there's no more treatment, and they bow out. Without any parents involved, it's just a sister and a brother. How do you know if it's half these people, and there's people giving them money? Oh, my gosh, they are go fund me there. Always talking about. Oh, what this person wanted to do in their life It's really scaring. There's more and more videos of cancer popping up. And I don't know how you even know if these are real people you dont I know
