In 1988 I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath. On a Wednesday there was a sign that read Blues Night. Me and two buddies went. There were maybe 30 people there. A trio was playing standards we were ignoring and then this very tiny drunk Englishman and a blonde walked in. He went up to the stage and pulled out a gold top Les Paul. He burned the place down. He played and sang like there were 30,000 people there. The girl sat our table. I asked who he was and she said “Steve Marriott”. I was drunk as was she and I heard “Syd Barrett”. I started telling everyone around us “That’s Syd Barrett!” And she finally said “No, no, love that’s Steve Marriott of the Faces and Pie!” One of my favorite memories of youth. RIP Steve, you were one of the all time belters and a hell of a player.

Hard to believe he is not even on Rolling Stone's list of all time vocalists. Saw Humble Pie with and without Frampton several times. Lucky enough to have been at one of the Fillmore shows they recorded. That band was the best live act I ever saw, and I've seen most of the major acts in their prime from the late 60's on.

He deserved so much more but was ripped off by dodgy contracts from slippery management. I saw him at the Half Moon Putney just before he left us and my girl myself and many friends felt very sad. My deepest condolences to his loved ones. He bought so much pleasure to millions with his fabulous voice and his hilarious, kind warm ways. When Steve Marriott was trying to resurrect Humble Pie, I and a friend saw them in Phoenix in the fall of 2001. They were the headliner for some one-hit wonder. Their new albums were really good and the band gave a powerful performance. After they finished, we left having no interest in the one-hit wonder. On the way out of the Coliseum we walked past the Humble Pie tour bus. Steve Marriott walked down the stairs to light a cigarette. We stayed and talked with him for about 30 minutes. He was optimistic about the new Humble Pie and appreciated our feelings about his music and career. He was gracious and spent time with us interested in having a conversation. I'll never forget that. He was by far the most underrated musician of his time. As time goes on, his talent will be more and more appreciated. I think that already is beginning.

This is just about very slimly accurate but awfully put together with no actual reason for it being made. Why an American who cannot even pronounce Steve’s name correctly ? The main reason for the Small Faces break up being bankruptcy and their bad choice of Don Arden ( Sharon Osborn’s father) as their management, Mr Arden was no more than a thug in the music industry at the time, the SF’s made hardly a penny from royalties and law suits went on for years. This whole thing is really just a load of shite must have been put together by anyone who could gain all these facts from SM ‘ or KJ’s biographies it’s just low grade rubbish

After we all died, our sons & the society are showing us the truth about how we all were! Shocking! Look at this video,it reveals how everyone is copying messages & discussions & analysis of everyone else! Groundbreaking knowledge how tired we all are doing our jobs. Soulless & nearly Bot like. Welcome to the future!😂😅😂

That was not even mentioned....unless I just happened to miss it. Nevertheless, the info. about this great Musician and Singer was appreciated.

If you are going to report then do your research!
The surname Marriott is constantly and bloody annoyingly mispronounced by a yank that has clearly never bothered to listen. His name (and that of his lovely Daughters, Molly & Tonya has always been pronounced MARRYERT.

    • @annaforehan7784

This is one of the worst documentary’s of anyone famous ever . Steve was trying to fight organized criminals who stole the small faces money and humble pie .Tom petty also fought the crooks who run the music industry, and had his house burned down with his family inside.. Steve spent millions of dollars on lawyers to get back the money they stole from him.. he wrote some of the biggest hits in British rock history, back in the 1960s and humble pies music still is very popular, on the internet.. shame on this cats bad documentary
