Summoner Wars is one of my all-time favorite tabletop games and I think Summoner Wars 2nd edition improves on it significantly. In 1st edition the combos within each faction felt kind of simple and linear, but in 2nd edition I feel like there's so much more flexibility in how you can use every ability and all the units combo with each other in interesting ways. For example you can use the Mountain Vargath's stronghold to fall back to safety or to press an attack, you can use the High Elves' Law of Liberty to attack then move or you can use it to (I believe) attack twice with the same unit, you can use Albus the Wise's ability to negate an enemy common's ability or you can use it to suppress one of your own commons' ability, etc. That's not to say those kinds of multi-purpose abilities didn't exist in SW1E but my gut feeling after a handful of games is that they're more widespread throughout SW2E. Such a great game and I'm glad that Plaid Hat has not only supported the game for so long but continues introducing new factions instead of only re-releasing factions from 1E.
Mastering the High Elves is a whole other level of Summoner Wars - playtesting them was challenging - nevertheless they are in my opinion one of the most satisfying factions to play well (although your opponent will disagree!)
My 2cents on this, it's because Summoner wars have a good layer of complexity, you can play the games in many levels, even on low mode without knowing your faction and combos, they are pepole with some time difficulty, and because that the game can be avoided. But who wants to enjoy a good battle, SW is by far the better 2p game in the market
Hi Dice Tower, has there been any talks of having the extended factions ( the ones after master set) be in a bundle set. Would love to buy have all the factions. Collectors mindset.
I agree, I'd love to see how they implement them in 2E. Fungal Dwarves and Crimson Order prove that Plaid Hat clearly isn't shying away from "gross" or "dark" factions, so I'm holding out hope for a Filth revival.
Such an underrated game. More people should know and play it. How I wish there were more organised plays
More people should get to know about this gem of a game!!

Since my 9 year old daughter wants to play me almost every day, my life has become so much more fun.

Hello! I didn't really understand how to play them effectively, could you give some tips please? Thanks!
Why summoner wars not as popular as unmatched and dice throne? Summoner wars is better than those two

Nothing after the master set and starter set are bundled. Everything is single faction products for people to buy whatever they want.
Best 2 player game on the market
hmm no, but its up there.
I agree. Nothing comes close
@@kelliealanis9485 you must not have played many 2p games...
Depends who you play with. There are 2 player games that are just better when playing with certain people.
Im quite sure that attone adds damage to the attacking unit. Otherwise that unit should be replaced immediately with one from another deck xD
Man i wish they would bring the filth into this edition. I loved that faction from first edition
I have good news - the filth are being play tested right now! they will come soontm

They are coming next September!
Has anyone ordered the deck boxes? If so, how good of quality are they?
I just use Burger Token deckboxes
Have you played the 2 new factions that have come out and if so are you going to review them?
Love joey, roy and tom. :D
