It always seemed to me that Grimm “powers” were a base of physical ability and fighting, but primarily what made them so dangerous was that they adapted and evolved to whatever Wesen attacked them so they would grow stronger and be able to more effectively battle them in the future
This was after the Zombie bite.
8i9k
So true I agree very powerful the Grimm
they honestly did a very poor job of showcasing his powers. Like it seems evident that in order for a Grimm to be an actual threat he would need more than just eyes that see Wesen. He engages in hand to hand combat with strong wesen so a baseline increased strength and speed makes sense
the show just never give him a power up montage, showing him learn that his abilities had increased. we got training over the series to showcase new powers and his abilities, like when he learned to fight blind or his zombie power up.
but missed opportunity to see him go to the gym and learn what he could bench
@@stevesmith1383 you want an anime training montage?
guy gtf
Nick's super power is his ability to hear what regular people cannot. This is from the zombie experience. He also transforms into a deathlike(zombie)state which allows him to extend his life force.
The hearing ability is from when he was attacked by the (fly eating tears guy) and lost his sight and then his hearing became super
His hearing came from the "sandman" episode and the thing where he turns white is cus of the zombie
No its not. He gained super hearing way before that. The ability came during episode 15 from season 2 when he lost his sight due to the fly creature that fed off of peoples tears. Ffs
I don’t think they ever talked about his deathlike state
@@MiracleSanfordcould nick be a zombie wesen but way stronger than renard
They should have gone deeper into Nick's zombie side and his post Jinamuru Shunte abilities too.
It's been a while but if I recall it was only shown once after he lost and regained his powers.
Zombie and jinamuru ability? I haven’t watched the entire series yet.
@@teodora2979 In some episodes, he is attacked with certain things and he recovers, but he gains special abilities and they suggest this is a Grimm specific thing. The Jinamuru was a Wessen that blinded him, but he eventually recovered and got Daredevil-like hearing abilities. Another guy used some Wessen zombie poison on Nick. He recovered, but then he was able to tap into a sort of undead state where he could go without air for long periods of time/slow his heartbeat.
@@cylontoaster7660 and gain superhuman strength
@@aprilhippie8752 this was already part of the Grimm pack of powers (2 extra cones in the eyes, superhuman strength...) but Baron Samedi did give him even extra strength when in "zombie" mode....Nick is pretty much a superhero at this point lol
Known superpowers: super hearing, “combat ability and Martial art”, technical super human strength (stronger than regular people), endurance and agility, heightened reflexes and sharpened senses, “Grimm mode”, weapon expert, somewhat résistant to magic and witchcraft ( a tiny Bit), ability to see Wesen, combat shooting🤷🏿♂️, the show wasnt always superclear but thats what came to mind
I feel like most of his powers can be summer as 'able to deal with whatever wesen he's facing'
They didn't used his new found powers at all.. I've waited a lot to see him go berserk super grimm mode or something. Never happened.. It was a letdown
@@mohammednihals2809 but he also lacked the lifetime of training in his powers that other Grimms had
Yeah he’s pretty much a Superhuman with enhanced senses. The John Wick of the Wessen world.
For what I can remember and theorize (yes, this a theory of sort), some of Nick powers are:
1) True Sight: Nick can see the truth regarding wesen, he can see them even when they don't want to, and as explained in an episode, the wesen see infinite darkness in his eyes which reflects them and shows them who they really are. (Canon, though the name comes from D&D)
2) Enhanced Combat: Nick acquires improved proficiency with weapons of all kinds and his fighting skills are improved at peak human. (Also canon, as we have seen him being a great fighter as a Grimm but not so good when he lost his powers)
3) Enhanced Senses: Nick as a Grimm as better sense than a regular person, which allows him to notice details that easily pass regular people, senses at human peak unless further enhanced. (Canon, though barely mentioned)
4) Enhanced Instincts: Along with his senses, Nick's instincts also seem to have some sort of boost, though these instincts seem to kick in mostly in combats, probably due to him being an apex predator of wesen, he still uses his improved instincts in his regular job as a detective as well as in his job as a Grimm. (Canon, thought barely mentioned)
5) Enhanced Physique: All of Nick physical capacities are peak human, whether it is strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, stamina, etc, everything is enhanced as a whole. (Canon, I don't remember if it was said, but it was definitely shown)
6) Adaptability/Grimm physiology: It's mentioned many times over the course of the show that as a Grimm, Nick's body will react different than normal to wesen substances and even potions, and although some effects still have a negative effect on Nick, it seems that, following the quote "what doesn't kill you make you stronger", as long as Nick survives and recovers from certain (though not all) wesen substances, he can develop some sort of new power/ability as a side effect of it, probably in order to adapt and become a better predator of the wesen and be able to deal with the same kind of enemy and/or substance in the future (remember that Grimms are apex predators of the wesen world, if they couldn't get stronger in order to kill every wesen, they wouldn't be so feared) because of this "ability" of him, Nick developed abilities exclusive of him. (Semi-canon, as it's mentioned but never further explained how it works and why it happens)
Those would be the general "powers" of a Grimm, which only make them peak human level, over human at most, but not straight up super human, we see this same powers in Kelly (Nick's mother) and Trubel.
Now, Nick specific "powers", would be those he acquired thanks to his "Grimm physiology".
7) Super Hearing: After losing his sight due to a wesen substance, Nick senses seemed to improve, but his hearing in particular, quickly became so good that Nick could practically "see" with it, practically reaching Daredevil levels of hearing, and to a point that it was better than even the senses of some wesen, practically super human hearing.
8) Zombie/Undead Mode: After being affected by a "zombifying" substance and surviving, Nick's general physical capacities were enhanced even further, with his body changing in order to survive and resist under certain situations that regular humans wouldn't be able to handle, but going even beyond that, now Nick had developed his own version of the zombie/undead mode in which he would have higher pain tolerance and his physical strength would finally reach super human levels, but still would remain conscious opposite to the state of "zombification" he went through the first time.
U ar genius
Wish they'd make a continued series with Kelly, Diana, and the Triplets!
Question are their any book series of Grimm?
I always saw Nick/Grimms as Superhuman since they’re able to go toe to toe with Wessen in hand to hand combat
@@mijanhoque1740 I mean, strictly speaking the power of wesen is very variable from one type to the other, if you watch closely, most wesen are peak human or above human at most, even Hank, being a regular although big and strong human, can fight and even overpower some wesen, of course there are some wesen that could be considered low superhuman level, but they would be a minority, and we have seen Nick struggling against some enemy wesen fighting on his own, so yeah, I give Nick peak human or above human, at least initially, eventually he got more physically powerful, but it required him training and constant fighting, plus his Grimm physiology at work.
This always struck me as a particularly disturbing dynamic for Wesen. The males are controlling, treat murder as a natural part of their life they’re entitled to and the females pick men up knowing they’ll be killed. And that’s not even getting on to issuing the threat of mutilation as punishment. Physically their not too unusual for Wesen, but their behaviour always disturbed me
They're monster
"females pick men up knowing they’ll be killed." i don't think they were doing that. the females have to breed outside their species but the ones in the episode tried to protect the humans.
the best series I have ever seen, bring it back.
Superpowers? The only powers he got is scaring the hell out of wesen with his eyes
After he was attacked by the Puffer motherfucker and went all zombie rage monster, whenever his skin goes pale like that, his abilities are heightened quite a bit. Able to hold his breath for long periods, stronger, better stamina, etc. more permanent abilities he got were, greater hearing, and much better fatigue resistance. There may be more, but I don’t remember.
Nick was blinded got super hearing and then cured. But kept the super hearing. He has the zombie mode obviously, aswell as his advanced strength, stamina, and athletics. Grimms are pretty much highly adaptive super humans... Which is why they are so hard to kill and can destroy Weson and other people in fights. I mean have you seen all the ninja moves Nick has done in fights. The sick black eyes are just a bonus. Grimm's are feared for a reason my guy...

Just realized Nick the only male Grimm we seen on the show with exception of that older man forget his name. According to his mom his grandfather was also a Grimm. Might have been even more dangerous than Nick. Obviously, he would have been elderly and too old to fight during the show had he lived longer but as a younger man he could have been. Nick only kills when he has to but his grandfather could have been a nonsense Grimm . Maybe he killed a zaureabeist with his bare hands lol. Grimm could do a spin off that takes place in the past. Dose look like Nick son might be a Grimm. Seemed to leave it open for a possible future spin off.
man, swimming in jeans is a superpower in its own right
They can do a sequel that shows the life of his kids grown hunting and saving. Then they bounce back to him raising his kids. So it's both. Plus a prequel on the keys and the other world. How the resistance came to be against the royals.
Yassz
That is suspicious light and clean water, just saying
Also, we want more !
I think that it would have been so cool if Nick's appearance changed when fighting the final boss in the series final episode. Think about it the bad guy and Nick grab each other and in order to adapt Nick's body goes super pale and eyes goes black. (We actually get to see Nick's black eyes). Also, as an added bonus he starts to speak German. He goes full Grimm.
I call this ability reaper, he gains strength and endurance. In this mode his body showed no change even after an extended period of physical activity. His eyes are black and his skin pale white, he literally looks like death to wesen which is why I call it reaper mode Grimm reaper
Greatest show ever currently rewaching it fir the first time
I think it's cool that nick protects the good wesen and kills the bad ones
Nick's like the TV version of Venom. "You can only kill (or eat) bad guys!"
No, usually he jails the bad ones. Because that's what a cop does. Deaths are less common.
2 counts of assault police three counts of attempted murder. Oh I’d say their going to jail.
I think the point was that if they go to prison they would die. the Naiad need to be in water, they can live on land but not forever as they still need acsess to a body of water
Like Nick said they should’ve thought about that
I love this series and I saw this every day until it disappear from Netflix

It's on Netflix?
@@nejitenfan not anymore. Well the Australian version anyway bud
Telegram is enough for me 🙌😂
What I love is how they portray the adabtive abilities of the Grimms.
Grimms are supposed to maintain the balance between the Wesen and normal people. And in order to do that, when a Wesen attacks them, they immediately adapt to it so they always come out on top.
For example, when Nick was sprayed by Baron Samedi, it only enhanced his Grimm abilities afterwards.
Or when his eyes were sprayed with those worms by that one Wesen. He lost his eyesight, but his hearing became so incredibly effective that it basically replaced his eyes.
What are grimms super powers I never understood that through out the entire series
The ability to see wesen when they look human to everyone else and super strength
To kill fricken vescent
They have Keen senses, hearing, smell etc.

@@MusaDays808 they didn't
There's a bit more to it. These kind of Wesen, Naiad's, in the show all the males are sterile. Female Naiads can only reproduce with other people, then the children from those unions are raised by their mother and step-father. The guys in this scene are possessive and self-loathing, or angry about how they have to raise somebody else's kid. it might be a situation they can't get out of, but that's no right to physically torture another Naiad since Elly actually cares about a boy instead of just out of obligation.
@@geoffreyedgson7875 That's what makes them losers they already intimately know about the situation of their people yet they are killing people because they are upset and jealous. They wouldn't have existed if their mothers didn't do what these girls were doing and their species would cease to exist. They know that but they prefer to hurt innocent people.

Edit from present me: I really wish they addressed Nick's zombie powers more the writers only let Nick use it like twice and then just forgot about it.
Then they tease it two times and that's it.
Would've been great if they explained it more and we got more use out of it.
I mean it reduces his respiratory needs and vastly increases his strength. There are so many circumstances were that probably would've come in handy in the later seasons.
The grimms don't have superpowers . But nick was attacked by the jinamaru xniute and crathcar mortal that spat zombie slime in nick 3 times
yes they do, grimms have super speed, strength and reflexes. but its not like superhero level, like 1.5x better than average. Also, nick goes beyond that and its considered an unique case.

Enhanced strength and stamina, enhanced senses (since he was attacked by Mr. Brundlefly) and then that weird thing from his encounter with Mr. Fugu. Wnd witch-killing kisses, apparently.
Grimms exist to save normal humans from evil wesen so it make sense that they have such abilitys
