  • Jack Grealish and Harry Kane on Manchester City would be unfair - Shaka Hislop | ESPN FC
    Julien Laurens, Nedum Onuoha, Shaka Hislop and Alejandro Moreno break down what it would look like if Jack Grealish and Harry Kane signed with Manchester City.
    0:00 Juls discusses how the Jack Grealish to Manchester City rumors has picked up over the last couple of days.
    1:36 Juls says Manchester City could go after Jack Grealish and Harry Kane.
    2:31 Onuoha discusses how high he rates Jack Grealish as a player.
    4:00 Moreno explains he would rather have Harry Kane than Jack Grealish but if the team can afford both, by all means they should sign him.
    5:04 Shaka breaks down how Grealish signing with City could muck up the Premier League saying it’s almost unfair.
    6:06 Onuoha goes in depth on why he doesn’t see Grealish and Kane making Manchester City the overwhelming favorites in the Premier League.
    9:00 Juls says there’s a 7/10 for Grealish to sign with City and a 5/10 for Kane to sign with the club.

      @@bobby5161 It is pretty well known that all English players are overrated to some degree with regard to the transfer market values. Don't believe me? Just look at the past 20 years of transfers. It is very rare that Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, etc. are ever willing to spend 100 plus million (or even close to that) on English players. To be clear, I am not saying English players are not good (they obviously are), but their prices are overinflated in the transfer market. It is why English players tend to stick around the EPL, they get paid higher salaries in the EPL. EPL teams pay both higher salaries, and higher transfer prices for english player that many of the other elite teams simply would not spend such prices on. Who knows though, maybe this isn't true. Maybe Madrid, Barca, Juve, Bayern etc. would all have been willing to spend close to 100 million on Harry Maguire to play CB lol.

      @tcdesports5673 2 года назад

      I was reading about this stuff one day, and it's not like traditional top teams get all or most of the money. Every deal a league makes is aggregated together this year it was around 800~850 Mills. Then prize money is distributed as follows: 15% to 1st place 12% to second place and 10% to third place. Then 20% money is distributed equally to rest 17 teams. Another 10% distributed to all the teams in 2nd tier and rest goes to the league for its expenses.
      So yeah what you're saying is correct but not because they ar traditionally big teams. It's because they generally finish in top 3.
      Also, clubs generally have deals for themselves lined up too. It's not like they are only dependent on league and obviously clubs like RMA and Barca will command higher fees in any deal.

Also Dias is good but not as great as you’re making out to be. City as a team with a younger Fernandinho, Silva, Aguero, Kompany, Sane etc on top of it being Guardiola’s “prove himself” period. UCL isn’t the same as the league I hope you know that right. There’s a reason why City can win the league with ease but not the UCL. The UCL is a knockout competition where any team can win the league is about who’s is the best over 38 games. Even if Chelsea does beat City twice City can win the majority of the 36 games. So unless Chelsea are going to go undefeated the whole season then I doubt they will win the league

  • @seongthongchuah8356
    @seongthongchuah8356 2 года назад

    My mind is thinking the same thing as Onuoha, but also the dressing room atmosphere, Sterling and Foden both play at LW a lot and with Grealish coming in, all have to fight for the spot and also for England call up. Kane is replacing Aguero but also is he the captain of the club now? I mean Sterling was like what 3rd choice captain after KDB and Fernandinho? Now Kane come in and become 4th choice and Grealish 5th choice? Both coming in expecting to start every game is not good as we all know Pep will ramdomly rest key players against "smaller team" in the prem and Kane who love to fight for golden boot and Shearer record won't be happy.

    • @cbscboys8784
      @cbscboys8784 2 года назад

      Absolutely. There will be unrest in the dressing room as each players have individual ambitions as well. Having too many superstars in one team don’t always work.

    Don't get me wrong Harry Kane is a great striker on his day. But with his current performances in the Euros for England and his Big price tag id be a bit concerned.

  • @kpwand
    @kpwand 2 года назад

    Going for 2 players at once can also be a negotiating tactic against Daniel levy. City are basically telling him two things: 1) That Kane and Grealish are worth the same amount, and 2) that if they don't get Kane this season they have an alternative purchase (given they don't play a 9 anyway) and won't be bullied into paying a crazy price. City know that once kane turns 28/29 and has 1 year left on his deal he will go for half of this price. I'm almost certain that they will drop the Grealish deal if they get Kane.

      People not grasping this. NSWE have as much money as the Sheik. Villa have had a club-wide development project in the works. Building around Grealish by attracting young internationals and bringing 18s and 23s into the first team. They know that Grealish with Watkins, Buendia, McGinn, Luiz, possibly Ward-Prowse is a formidable attacking side.
