Spanish-Style Bangus, SIMPOL!

  • Different way to prepare your favorite bangus? You will surely love this recipe! So easy to do and you can even start a small business with this!
    INGREDIENTS:
    Set A:
    1 kilogram small bangus (milkfish), cleaned with heads and tails cut off
    2 tablespoons rock salt
    Oil, for frying
    Set B:
    1 piece carrot, sliced into rounds
    1 head garlic, peeled
    1 teaspoon salt
    4 pieces laurel leaves
    6 pieces clove spice
    1 tablespoon whole peppercorns
    6 pieces dried or fresh chilies
    ½ cup pickles, cut into rounds
    ¼ cup olives (optional)
    ½ cup vinegar
    2 cups canola oil, add more, if needed
    3-4 cups water

    Kahit na po. Di pamdin healthy ang canola oil. Olive oil po kasi di namumuo sa sa ugat at masama aa puso. Healthy po sya dapat pure olive oil.

    I tried this! Wala nga lang pickles and olives..
    Then mackerel fish ginamit ko hindi ko na binabad ng matagal sa salt pero masarap pa din!!

    Help! 4 hours na ung spanish sardines ko ndi pa nababawasan ng tubig,maybe because sa stove lang ako nagluto tapos nakatakip? pero 4 hours na eh.. tnry ko tanggalin ung takip baka sakali maubos ung tubig 🤦‍♀️😩

    4 cups of water po ba ay baka napakarming tubig, baka po maging nilaga ang kalabasan? Sa 45 minutes po i think di kayang mag evaporate lahat ng tubig.

    I'm a bit annoyed at Pilipinos calling the BANGUS sardines due to ignorance or worse lack of education. Bangus is NOT sardines . Stewed style bangus Spanish style ! Come on !

      Napapadali lang sa pressure cooker. Kung wala ka nyan matagal ang paggawa pero slow cooking kaya hindi magastos sa gas or sa kuryente.

    I bought your book and I loved all the simple recipes. But right now, this is what I want to try. Can I use a cast iron pot instead of pressure cooker. If yes, how long and how strong should the fire be? I'm craving this for dinner, hope you can reply here. God bless.

      Anyway, yes masarap to sa cast iron for as long as walang bakat ng rust ang cast iron mo. slow fire lang kasi cast iron is a good heat conductor. As to how long, it depends on how many you’re cooking. Check mo lang every now and then

      I think no need to add preservative if you will pressurized the packaging like in a glass bottle kc masseal n cya 😉

    Hi chef... Is it preservation is possible?
    If you put that spanish sardines in "Garapon" during Cooking in pressure cooker it will be preserve within 12 months? Isn't? ... Pls confirm, if it's possible... because I wanted it to be my business... Thank you
