    Sorry if this is on the thread but might be a silly question what is the benefit of doing this, I was aware that the flap was to help with low down torque when at low revs? Cheers neale

    If I wanted to put something like this ONTO my bike to give me more control over when it’s loud Vs not, would you recommend a complete system that has a valve in it or do you just install a valve and motor into an existing exhaust or something else entirely?

    Thanks, it would be good if the aftermarket offers a dongle similar to Rottweiler so the servomotor does not have to be reinstalled.

    Great video. I'm looking to do a full removal of my exhaust headers to rewrap them. Do you have a guide of the right torque settings for each of the bolts or do you have a video on full header removal?

    On my 2023 when I remove the flapper valve my engine stutters on cold start ups. Is this something the servo buddy helps with?

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  2 месяца назад

      This is correct, when you remove the flap on a Gen3 model you will get the cold start splutter. As part of our electronics package, part of the remap has been developed to eliminate this. The servo buddy is there to eliminate the fault light on the dash after removing the flap.

    the servo buddy don’t you think that could be avoided by simply disassembling the OEM unit black plastic box, then disconnecting the 2 wires that opens and close the servo flap and then reconnect back the connector to his original black OEM unit instead of connected to the aftermarket Servo buddy?

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  Год назад +4

      Sure, but then you're left with a horrible black box attached to the bike for no reason, when you could remove it and fit a Servo Buddy to clean up the lines of the bike.

    Hi, I just have a question. I bought a 2021 rnint and you can’t remove the flap as it’s welded in.
    Can I just take off the cables? Will that leave them open or closed?
    Cheers

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  2 года назад +2

      You might be able to disconnect the flap from the exhaust by removing the cables, in all honesty we haven't tried it ourselves yet.

    Are you saying I don’t need to plug-in that servo motor back in on my 2014 roadster? Will it not throw error on the dashboard?

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  3 года назад +1

      In theory, you don;t need to for the 2014-16 model but I prefer to use one on my own bike for neatness.

  • @roverroko306
    @roverroko306 3 года назад

    Hi again guys can you tell me will this also reduce, at least a small amount on the engine braking? Not that I don’t love the R9T engine braking, I do. But I am planning to change the headers for SS open straight through pipes, a high flow air filter, something like K&N. Together with this removal which at that point obviously I must do, will it reduce the engine braking just a bit, or buy how much.

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  3 года назад

      It will make negligible or no difference to the engine braking.

      Hi. This is for the 2014-20 models, the 2021 has the exhaust flap fixed as part of the header pipes. As such, you will need to replace the headers to remove the flap.

      @@PierCityCustom ok guys I know you’re busy, no problem. Just one question, so the only way to reduce engine braking would be by altering the fuelling map. Either the way you guys do it with rapid bike evo or Bren flash?

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  3 года назад

      @@roverroko306 The EVO won't allow you to change the engine braking, this is possible on the RACING version of the Rapid Bike but only with additional units fitted and it won't make massive changes. In honesty, the engine braking is completely different on each of our bikes (same year, same model) so you're better off working with what you currently have and adjusting your riding style rather than chasing for a fix.

    • @roverroko306
      @roverroko306 3 года назад

      @@PierCityCustom Well that’s easy enough to say, and I have no problem with my 2014 roadster engine braking. But as you should first understand since you do this for a living, there’s always a way to improve individual aspects of one’s ride to become as perfect as you can imagine it to be. So I know Rapid bike Evo or racing allows a bit of play with Fuelling ARF then there must be a way to alter the affect of engine braking. Even though so far in my studies of this particular improvement on our amazing bike, I believe a good remap is the way to go. Since I don’t want to endlessly alter certain behaviours of the ECU, instead I need one or 2 great maps to download and flash my ECU to get rid of lean factory fuelling and just by a small amount reduce engine braking. That’s what I believe would make my bikes ride more enjoyable. I am aware you guys don’t use this on your builds but I would appreciate your opinions about the Bran tune with a handheld and 3 + OEM software maps to use as you see fit. How good in your opinion is this tuner?

    • @PierCityCustom
      @PierCityCustom  3 года назад +1

      @@roverroko306 We don't use Bran Tune and have never worked on a bike that has been used with it so I'm not in a position to give an honest and experienced comparison. Sounds like you've done the research so I'd just go with whatever makes you happy, bud.
