Damage/DPS: is like killing anything but mostly focus on others dps players and also get support players. Focus on Tanks when you are competent but stick with your Supports: heal your team but also poke at enemies sometimes but you are meant to stick in the back lines or mid lines with DPS Tanks: you are a meat shield either way with abilities but you are in the frontline like DPS to kill but tenderize your enemies so your team can pick off whoever is there This is my take on the roles when playing them
Okay thank you this was super helpful! I’ve been maining Soldier 76 (DPS) and Mauga (Tank) so I’m def keeping this in mind. When I play Mauga I’ve been tending to make sure I’m in front to take the most damage and protect my squad, and when I play Soldier 76 I focus on straight kills while keeping a bit of distance such as overlooking everyone.
Ehhh, Focusing the Tank is very situational and honestly can be a big mistake in a fight. Sometimes it's easier and faster to deal with the Supports, dps then the tank. But this is game sense and they will form with time.
I know u just started but once you get a little bit more comfortable with the mecanics and everything I'd recommend going for role queue instead of open queue because it will just feel more organized having one tank 2 dps and 2 supports instead of like 5 tanks in one team. Also going in the practice range and testing out all characters would really help knowing some stuff that can catch u by suprise like for example genji's deflect ability which deflects ur ammo's when ur shooting at him which backfires cause now ur damaging urself by shooting at him. Also u should be moving more when ur shooting cause that can be easy kills for a widomaker (sniper in the dps). But yeah enjoy the game.
Thank you so much! Yeah I noticed that I tend to stand still when shooting so I definitely have been working on that, especially considering I got lit up by a sniper earlier today. 😂😂😂 and alright I will definitely start going into role queue and test out more characters in the practice range.
@lxvejalen throw all your precondition habits for "FPS" out the window. Overwatch is more about being able to actually hit your targets, and tracking enemy Ability cooldowns and countering when you have time. Now this is a very oversimplified explanation. I'd suggest watching High Level players and try to figure out why they are doing what they are doing.

@@devinaschenbrenner26835vs5: hardcounter the other Tank with your team: you mostly win the game
