Dr Luttwak is an extraordinary military and political strategist with an international reputation. Go to Amazon, and there are more than twenty Luttwak books available. One of his more interesting books, Coup d'État: A Practical Handbook, was made into a movie. Luttwak is one of the few military strategists who has the rare distinction of being played by the British Actor Peter O’Toole.
Fluent in five languages, Luttwak was born in Romania and has been a Senior Associate at CSIS and Chairman of AP Fleet (aircraft leasing) in Dublin, Ireland. He attended the London School of Economics (B.Sc.Econ), Johns Hopkins University (PhD), and the University of Bath (LLD Honoris Causa). He has served as a consultant to U. S. Government organizations, including the following as well as Treaty Allies of the U. S.:
The Office of the Secretary of Defense,
The National Security Council,
The U.S. Department of State,
The U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force
He founded and directs a conservation cattle ranch in the Bolivian Amazon. Before ever writing of strategy and war, he was combat-trained (Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and fought as a volunteer or a contractor in several countries on two continents. The Rise of China vs the Logic of Strategy (Harvard University Press) is his latest book, and his books have been published worldwide in twenty-two languages.

"He (Edward Luttwak) he was combat-trained (Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry) and fought as a volunteer or a contractor in several countries on two continents." Pull the other one. EL was not in the Royal Green Jackets, and the Ox & Bucks ceased to exist while he was a schoolboy at Carmel College. It became 1 RGJ in 1958. He went to Israel in 1967 as a 'war volunteer' but he was never in the IDF and certainly didn't fight in the Six-Day War which was over before he got there.
Relevant, Rational & Pragmatic

One of my favorite dynamic with Europeans, but obviously Brits in particular is how when its anything good about the US of course the US was started by Brits/Europeans. When its anything bad that they want to distance themselves from it's "those dumb Americans and their Revolution and independence, theyre not European anyway." Lol
"Let us begin with this evident fact: Muscovy does not belong at all to Europe, but to Asia. It follows that judging Muscovy and the Muscovites by our European standards is a mistake to be avoided."-gonzague de reynold, 19501 In methodological terms, one should de-Europeanise any analysis of Muscovy policy.- thomas gomart, 20062 "
Balázs Mártonffy needs to stay silent
bravo 😀
Moscow horde´s war record :-

1905 defeated by Japan
1917 defeated by Germany
1920 defeated by Poland, Finland, Estonia and all Baltic states
1939 defeated by Finland
1969 defeated by China

WW2 won USA/Britain , meanwhile Stalin's officers were shot or sent to the Gulags. Millions went to the Gulags, including Solzhenitsyn
Moscow's only victories come from invading smaller countries :-
a) Hungary 1956
b) Czechoslovakia 1968
c) Moldova 1992
d) Georgia 2008
by this logic britain never had an empire (they 'lost' all those properties) and the usa isnt a military power (vietnam/ korean/ afghanistan etc etc)!!
The big brain on the left needs to read his intro to a mirror and not crack up. You can;t relate arbitrary insights to a real-politic analyst like Dr. Luttwak. Make a bold point or stay silent. But I do wonder what the good doctor says today about the solidity of the Ukraine forces.
This guy is one of the guys that created the Iraq war. He talks big.
1991, yes. 2003, no: luttwak was vocally against the war and even more against how it was conducted
