The risk of injury from a weapon with serial numbers is no less than one without. If someone files off the serial numbers, does that logically imply that the weapon is somehow more dangerous than before? Obviously not, and that means it isn't a "public safety issue" but instead "it makes the job harder for police in some extremely rare cases." I doubt that is justification enough for banning the practice if we view it objectively and don't allow rhetorical arguments to seep into the debate. @goldenglowmaster8510 You can't have a weapon if you are on parole. It's a bit tricky, really, but it is possible for an ex fellon, but many factors play into it. For example, many non-violent felonies allow for ways people to once again be allowed to carry a weapon. Did you know you're not allowed to vote either, I think that one is so stupid. After some time period you can file a motion leaking to exspung the crime, it normally requires a fairy large chuck of cash, if different per sate and also by how serious your crimes were, on average I hear it's around $2000, you sent it in with paperwork, and I think it's part judge and possibly theirs who look it over, see what your total crimes are and if not that many or that bad, then you get paperwork restoringvyou rights to have firearms again. There is a smaller simmer process to be allowed to vote again as well. Of course, the fee I don't believe is anywhere as high as the firearm. He won’t get pardoned by trump because he is black. Let’s see.
You mean the guy who instituted the bump stock ban turning hundreds of thousands of Americans into felons overnight for owning a piece of plastic? Trump is anything but pro-freedom.
Unfortunately that would do Dexter no good, because the president can only pardon people for federal crimes. Dexter was convicted under New York State law and thus can only be pardoned by the governor of New York.
@@armadillolover99 That is deeply frustrating, and seems like it was designed to be a work-around.
Me to
Free that man. His right are being infringed on.
He's in the wrong state for that
Damn hope he gets home soon 🙏🏾❤️
Hes right. Our rights are higher then any law put in place to hinder them.
Bro in the wrong state
He's that intelligent you was welcomed in Texas brother
Imagine if a judge said " The 14th Amendment doesn't exist in this court." Would you be so willing to give up someones rights then?
Agreed...or the 1st...it's CRAZY.
He’s going to prison for exercising his constitutional rights! Free him!
Absolutely disgusting how they treated him in that search.
Both parties were respectful and dignified. Try again
@@blahblahblah-fo6xn why don’t you explain how they were respectful and dignified? They arrested an innocent man.
yet they do nothing about all the illegals robbing people and all the people with glock switches which are illegal.. but this dude is the issue
@@sheldoneuos He stated in the interview that the police were respectful during the search. When they have a warrant they don't knock.
Hopefully TRUMP pardons this American, Patriotic Man and puts the Judge and those responsible for violating an Americans rights in the same prison he was in, but for 2x the time he’s was sentenced for, because that judge and law enforcement should know better, it’s their job to know.
"The right to bear arms shall not be infringed" that means no limits
“Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited. [It is] not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose.” -- Justice Scalia in writing for the majority in the Heller case.
soooo...nuclear weapons? IED's? What is YOUR interpretation of the 2nd?
@@Callsign_Sturm People often forget that it's all interpretations, and they often fail to include the entire text of the Second Amendment. The actual Second Amendment clearly mentions militias, but the U.S. Supreme Court in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008) interpreted that the right to bear arms is an individual right, not contingent on service in a militia. So, is the "random appointed person" interpreting that it isn’t contingent on militia service correct, but somehow the interpretation that it is not unlimited is wrong? Is that your interpretation? Is your interpretation somehow more correct than the U.S. Supreme Court’s interpretation, and if so, please explain how it is.
To be clear, I personally don't see anything wrong with what he was doing. If it was illegal, then there is something wrong with the law. They cite "increased risk to police" often as a reason for making what he was doing illegal, but that is simply a rhetorical argument.
Still, I think people should actually read the Constitution and try to understand it in context. Don't just take what other people say and assume it's true without critically engaging with what is being said.
@nomenclature9373 "The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." That is pretty clear. I don't see anything about limits in that statement.
I respect and appreciate this man for standing on his beliefs and his RIGHTS. To hear an officer say “ keep a gun on him” when he surrendered peacefully is crazy. If he was not a threat and peaceful why keep the unnecessary use of force? Hopefully he is released as soon as possible.
The police have no HONOR.
Sadly enough we apparently only abide by the constitution when the government says its fit to lol. I commend this man for standing up for 2A rights.
Shall not be infringed? So any gun control law is infringement that’s it
Building your own guns has never been illegal in the United States. Selling them is.
Selling them shouldn’t be illegal either
Not even selling them is illegal, you just have to make sure they retain a serial number and the manufacturer has an FFL (which granted shouldn’t need one)
@@AppalachianMountaineer1863 I should be able to make and sell guns without a serial number.
@AppalachianMountaineer1863 I am pretty sure self-made guns can not be sold to anyone but the government. Anyone is allowed to build guns. To sell them you have to get the ffl. But that only covers serialized guns, which a homemade gun won't have. With the ffl, though, you can apply for an expansion that allows you to build automatic firearms for R&D. In that case, you can submit your guns for government contracts bids. That is my understanding, anyway. Still seems my right to bear arms is pretty infringed. And all my tax money is used for corruption
The man is totally right...but when the law is lawless,....well here you see what happens.
keep crying LOL
At least they didn't shoot his dog and kid. Yall sure do forget so easy. At least it wasn't you so oh well, back to your phones
Shall NOT be infringed. What is unclear about that?
Calm down, you can still do it
It was never meant for blacks, they use guns crimes or sell them to criminals, not for self defense.
Poor man they locked him up for nothing.
If this man has a clean record, never caused trouble. He has every right to own and build a firearm. Look at the weapons that being sent to Ukraine. A lot of those weapons are being ending up in bad people’s hands. Does that mean the federal government should be investigated for doing that ?
