You have to machine the housing for the upgraded thrust collar? I think that takes the process out of the realm of most garage mechanics.

I´m not so convinced of your Wastegate adjustment method, I`ve never seen that before. I thought you are supposed to adjust them with a vaccum pump. They should be closed at 5,91 Hg (200mbar), but the wastegate valve can be turned by minimal force.
Besides that great video, keep it up!

Hey man! Nice work. But dont you need to balance out the cores after you reassembled them? Hope to hear from you!

Not if you marked the compressor turbine...nut and shaft properly. However New rotating assemblies need balancing yes and I did mention that in the video.

It would be a good supplemental video to show the alignment mark process. Every separate component requires alignment markings. I've seen a video where a "tech" used a sharpie lol. Not nearly accurate enough, and the marks vanish when you clean the parts.
I use a micro-file to make small grooves on the housings and non-rotation components, and a sharp pick to make scratches on the compressor and turbine wheels (files remove material, upsetting the balance).
Mark the compressor wheel at its base where it mounts to the shaft, not at the outer rim. Then mark the shaft. That results in the turbine wheel and the compressor wheel being restored to OEM alignment. Mark the nut as well so it can be "clocked" to the OEM balanced position. I also recomment Lock-Tite red on the nut. I've got 40K on my rebuilt units with no issues.
TurboLabofAmerica products are great btw. The wastegate flapper & sleeve replacement is an absolute must-do

How did you clean the turbine wheel? After disassembly of one of my sets i discovered a large amount of burnt oil/carbon on the back of the turbine. Any info would be much appreciated, thanks.

I media blasted the exhaust turbine with glass to clean it up.
