I'm on Brisbane and the op shop prices are insane here too! Sometimes i find kmart stuff thay is cheaper brand new. I absolutely love your outfit you're wearing ❤
I enjoyed this video Jo even though you didn't find anything 😔 I liked how you still uploaded it and showed an experience that didn't have finds. It was nice to see the Sunshine Coast and what they have to offer. Did you get footage of your dinner outing? Will there be a video about this? I know this trip was a little while ago 😁
It's crazy how much the prices vary - even in the one place. I scored a Perri Cutten, made in Australia wool blazer for six bucks a few years ago in Salvos. I've worn it heaps since, but am constantly bewildered by the high prices of certain brands of clothing, shoes and homewares from a well known chain store renowned for its low prices. On the other end of the scale I manage to find things like coffee mugs etc. from the more upmarket homeware brands for a dollar or so.
Jo on a Tuesday morning - hooray! It is okay to not find any pieces. After all, thrifting is the luck of draw. This week I took a friend thrifting because she was in need of some new clothes. She only found one man's hoodie she liked. While she was paying , I was looking at a box of bags of junk jewelry. A bag of old watches caught my eyes. They were selling the bag for $5.60. In the bag, were 4 watches. Three cheap watches that did not work. But one was a winner - a Movado watch. The strap had been changed to a Dakota leather. Someone apparently thought it was a cheap watch. New, these watches start around $550. The only thing the watch needed was a new battery and a slight cleaning. Score - the luck of the draw. lol. Anyways, we always enjoy seeing your lovely face and the beautiful Australian coast. We will catch you in the next video.
There is a Neighbour's Aid opshop a bit further West. I live on the Sunny Coast and prices are way absurd and the clothes are not wirth picking mostly.
Luv.... .whats wrong???...that $5 white shirt, the black cable-like knit & the blue/ green shirt ( versace- like??) Looked amazing on you!!!!.... why Didn't you get at least one???........ anyhow, hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Nambour?..... i must agree that the prices were unbelievably 😮 high in the opshop previous to that one! Omg!!!.....if youre in this part of the world again sometime ( great tip coming up).....Nambour has the best opshops !!
I love Caloundra, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your break. There are more op shops further out from the main drag (a car is needed for them and some are only open on certain days). Although I am more into bric a brac than clothing.
Love your outfit wow those prices still fun to watch guess its a tourist area so they can charge higher I did like the Gucci style shirt on you but for those prices I would have left them all behind as well. Congratulations on your brothers wedding I am sure you will still have lots of fun with your family.
It’s so surreal to see the streets in Caloundra since I live in there for years on kings beach Yeah I know they are bit overpriced in shops there. I am not a thrift person myself but I love watching your videos while you thrift thanks for sharing 😊
Try Lawton area if you'll have time. It's on a way to Brisbane but it has 6 dif op shops all on one street in walkable distance and it's so great. And if you'll have even more time, pop in to Lifeline in North Lakes. It's so beautifully made, literally a piece of art ❤
Wow Jo Caloundra used to be our family's favourite holiday destination when I was still living in Brisbane but now that I've moved back to my little country hometown we haven't really been anywhere yet for a holiday except for Hervey Bay just recently At least the prices here at the op shops are fairly reasonable Hope the wedding went well Thanks for sharing once again Take care lovely 😘💕
I can understand higher prices (within reason) for some designer labels but in the rural area with a low socioeconomic profile where I come from, it's cheaper to travel to the nearest Kmart or Big W than it is to shop at the op shops here.
It’s always a bummer when you have one of those days where you just don’t find anything worth buying. Never mind , it’s a great reminder of how lucky you are to live on the central coast near so many great (and well priced) op shops! 😊
Still really enjoyed the vlog..just to see the Beautiful scenery and the op shops😮..I volunteer in a uk shop and prices are mad…some good pieces do not even get put out as it doesn’t meet the minimum price levels….it’s ridiculous..think the shops have lost the way😞
There was another 2 op shops one down further another just off Main Street, always a bargain there plus 2 on the way into Caloundra are good too. Google then can you know where they are and not go into the ones you don’t like.
People must be paying these prices or they wouldn’t all be still priced this high 😮 it really saddens me that they are doing this…. Its great you show the reality of what it is like most of the time 😢
I'm past the western suburbs of Brisbane and I'll say that the standard now seems to be $8 - $25 here for regular items and anything they remotely consider nice is through the roof ridiculous. I did somehow manage to score my perfect black denim mini skirt for $3 last week though so there's the occasional win :)
@THEJODEDESAESTHETIC I know! I think they're trying to compete with resellers, but it really ruins the point of op shopping completely. If you're literally selling free donations, don't be greedy 🙄 I hope you enjoyed the coast though! 💕
Its a long time since Ive opshopped in Caloundra. There are 2 good ones nearby that have nice things at a reasonable price: the one at Caloundra Hospital is awesome, and there is a huge Vinnies a few blocks away. Lifeline is always overpriced.
Live in brisbane op shops are so expensive went to auckland and found a pair of chanel reading glasses for 8 dollars, its sad in aussie as used to love op shopping but things are so expensive and there isnt much good stuff as people are selling good stuff on line. I feel sorry for people that shop in op shops as they cant afford anything esle. Cheaper to go to sales now
@@THEJODEDESAESTHETIC I know its preety sad. My son and I were really looking forward to op shopping in Caloundra, my son actually looked them all up for us before we got there. The best op shops are the ones you find that are small and you don't tell ANYONE about them.
@@THEJODEDESAESTHETIC keep doing your videos because alot of them need to be named and shamed for getting free stuff and ripping people off. I took my op shop money to Kmart yesterday for end of year sales and got $54.00 worth of clothes for $24.00 because unlike most op shops Kmart does discount their products.
😵😱😱😱😱😱💔💔💔💔💔Oh my goodness these prices are criminal!!! $7 or $8 or even $10 should be all they have to be! I used to volunteer for Vinnie's for over 2 years sorting clothing and pricing!!!
