Whether a kid plays hockey for fun and/or aspires to play college or pro, I sincerely believe this sport brings out the best in him or her. Hockey teaches kids structure, hard work, develop thick skin, compassion for others, and brotherhood (and of course sisterhood for the girls). Also, hockey players seem to be the most well mannered, respectful, athletes and humble too.
Funny thing hockey paid the a large portion of the salary of Wendy, Peter and everyone else at the CBC (along with taxpayers) so complaining about cost is ironic
Haha that would make for some good schadenfruede wouldn’t it. Sadly no. Mitch is in the NHL and is arguably a top 5 player at his position. Worse, Paul Marner made an absolute ass of himself during the contract negotiations when Mitch’s ELC was finished.
Sadly no. Both of these kids were first round picks and Marner himself is one of the top wingers in the NHL. That said, Marner is as good as he is because he’s Mitch Marner. Not because of the pressure Paul Marner put him under. Kid had the talent to make the league regardless.
Oh so crazy! We all know parents can cross the line no question! But when you are investing 10s of thousands of dollars a year at that level people want to make sure that the investment(kids) :( are actually out there playing not out for a Sunday skate

I can guarantee you not any of these Kids sitting on a pro team care now that their parents were so tough. They get to play a game for a living.
Definitely prefer how Michael McLeod's mom handles things than Mitch Marner's dad.
Contrast this with Crosby's dad, McDavid's dad, or Gretzky's dad.
don't know much about Crosby's or Mcdavid's dad but i do know about Walter Gretzky and that he was a positive influence and would gladly autograph and take pics with kids at events also
McDavids dad was guaranteed worse. Dead give away to an over bearing father is a child with no emotion or personality. Ie..John Tavares, Connor McDavid, Mitch Marner,
4:46 “he’s talking to his son, not the ref” lmao even if it was the ref’s fault and made a clear bad call he would still be yelling at Mitch.
12 year old Mitch I feel bad for you ☹️
Poor mitch, i can see the ptsd in his face when hes on the bench hoping for a goal, his dad is yelling over his back shoulder
in the finals when Michael mcloud lost to the team from detroit they probably had dylan Larkin
Bruh
Chel TV nah. they played compuware and dylan larkin spent the majority of his youth hockey career with belle tire
sofia actually Larkin played for Lakeland AA
Michael McLeod?????
I was so lucky growing up and my parents just let me play. If I had a bad game my dad would just work with me to get better. He would never yell at me like that. Some parents are just assholes.
Tough look for Mrs. McLeod
feel bad for any kid with parents like this. especially with the kids without the talent as marner and mcleod
Saw the McLeod kid play in Junior. He was a hell of a skater and stood out.
I am a AAA player parent. I always repeat to my son "you have to WORK HARD to have a chance to achieve something but if you are not interested then just give up and try to do something that you really want instead of wasting YOUR time.
I can't believe that one month ago I was playing in the same rinks and I'm from the Omha! That's crazy!
Poor Mitch Marner, his real dad is up in Pittsburgh without him.
Played in that tournament it was great
he is our son. we can't trade him. he is our son in TO. it is more than the cup.
oddly enough mitch is a leaf now
Paul Marner (and his insane contract demands) single-handedly took down this supposed Golden Generation of Leafs. It’s a damn shame for everyone...except for Mitch and his Dad. 💰
He couldn't even carry his son's bag for him after the game because he didnt want to spill his drink. The hockey bag was bigger than Mitch for crying out loud!
honestly sickening that these psychos get that intense over a fucking hockey game.
I feel bad for Mitch. The way his Dad pushed him led to him being a 1st round pick in the OHL Draft, multiple 100 pt seasons in the OHL and being a 1st round pick in the NHL draft.....
Ray Finkle yeah what a dick....
Ray Finkle man, damn I'd be pissed.. being in the NHL in all, I don't think it was worth it
Dedicated parents cause their boys love it.
He almost quit in Jr. Left the team for a couple of weeks
@@gordonbgraham no he didn't
at least carry his fuckin game bag! i never knew mitchs dad was this bad.. damn
Wasn't he in the Anvil! The Story of Anvil?
Mikey plays for the devils and Mitch plays for the leafs
can someone tell his dad that until mitch learns to take a decent slapshot, he's not earning more than 9m a season. does he think he's better than kucherov or something?
Kuch should make 10.5 or 11, but he took less due to no state income tax in Florida. Mitch should demand more money since Ontario and Canada takes a ton from him.
@@JHockeyFan Mitch is in no position to demand anything since he's an RFA. He will be moved for 4 firsts if his petty childlike father doesn't hold his mouth
@@b.o.4469 Anyone can demand anything. Especially Mitch, he just scored over 90 points. And he should use the tax argument all day.
@@b.o.4469 If he gets traded, good for him, go to the US, make more money after taxes.
@@JHockeyFan Mitch can make more money through endorsements in Toronto. Way more.
Mcleods mom seems nice in the interview then turns into an obsessed insane person at the rink...lol
4:49 funnily enough a lotta Leaf fans would agree with that assesment of Marner this playoffs lol but jeez dude is like Tiger's dad
but at least Tiger became Tiger
How many kids would make it in that level. Nothing like one per team right?
More like one per league
Well I think he’s in the nhl for the Toronto maple leafs…
This is why it is so hard to sign to sign this kid, parents... what a shame these parents can't do something themselves and living your life thru your child's success, Paul marner sucks. What a shame.....
I don't get the hate for this guy. Sure, he yells, but he's not really abusive.
A lot of the dads that I knew in peewee were worse than him. And that was just AA not tripple
John Doe 1 eating chicken wings while watching the act....
i’ve been trying to find the court docs, does it say that somewhere i can’t find it
@@cleopatrabeyblade Athletic recently reported on it...
@@cleopatrabeyblade its the 2nd one in 2024 as the prior pc they had was released Summer 22 named "One Night in London"
No snack bar snack for Mitch?
You caught that eh? lol Those scenes in the arena (and later in the car) could've been from a scripted TV show/movie. That's the type of "show don't tell/actions speak louder than words" subtley and subtext that makes for good dramatized media lol
3:24 did he just drop the N-bomb?
No
Oddly enough nobody on that mission team is in the show
Fr
You might think he's a "sick parent", but Mitch Marner is going top 10 in the NHL draft this year
as if the two correlate?
and for every Mitch there are 10 players with “sick parents” who didn’t go anywhere
I wonder if those kids ever paned out
Mitch Marner is an NHL star for Toronto Maple Leafs. Mcleod boys not there yet, Michael is just hitting the AHL (2nd tier for the NJ Devils) and Ryan is in the draft for this year and he's projected to be a late first round pick. Matt Mcleod is in college hockey and went undrafted.
Genius!
Is this a satirical report
3:24 tf he say
5:05 for sure about to the berate Mitch before this
Runt still looked the same.Fuckin Hobbit.
That's my life! 😜. I need to get that hat.
This what u gotta do to ur kids for the big bucks woo
“$12,000,000 MITCH!!!!”
What's that?
I dont think so. 8-9 million Mitch.
Funny thing hockey paid the a large portion of the salary of Wendy, Peter and everyone else at the CBC (along with taxpayers) so complaining about cost is ironic
Make it to the nhl
Clearly the parents want the big pay day.
Looks like Mitch's shot hasn't improved.
Mikey McLeod didn’t age well!
innocent until proven guilty
I guess this is what happens when your son is going nowhere but straight to men's league
Paul made a great investment
4:35 till 5:10 gold no wonder the kid is a wreck in the corners
Oh so crazy! We all know parents can cross the line no question! But when you are investing 10s of thousands of dollars a year at that level people want to make sure that the investment(kids) :( are actually out there playing not out for a Sunday skate
Kids are not a fucking investment
@@smokesletsgo2374 Kids are an investment in how to go broke.
Found Paul Marner’s burner account.
Kids are not a fucking investment. This kind of parenting tends to cause kids to burn out more than help them. I know because I’ve seen it first hand with teammates.
They should have found brian n Connor McDavid, mcdavid skated better mitch at 9 than mitches 12
“That we lost, I don’t care”. SMH
Typical "Coach Dad" from Paul Marner lol.
Marners Dad, big case of LMS.

sick parents its all about fun for the kids
Scott MacDonald I think the kids are thankful for it, both of them got drafted first round in the NHL draft. I think it's worth it
Sam Barnes
Yea i love if my dad cursed at me after a game. There's other ways to motivate your child.
Paul Marner is a goof.
that hat
How many times have I told you, not to wear that shit kicker hat here? Huh, how many??
Canadien clowns
Awesome video. Mr. Paul Marner knows how to raise a kid....obviously! Much respect to Paul.
dumbass lol
Grate dad. Respect from 2019.
