Oppo find X slider mechanism is a genius move I feel if ip rating is not an ideal for u. 2nd screen on the back by Nubia is the best move if u can make a case for it. Notch is the worst move by any company even tough essential started the concept but this guy never mentions that and claims apple invented notch. It's not what other OEM follows that matter it's what Samsung follows matters if Sammy copies apple it's a shame According to me and not what these Chinese OEM follows. Samsung got iris scanner before apple Apple just copied Samsung but their implementation is better then Samsung. So it's innovation vs implementation. My XR is holding up really good and I updated from a 6 so the bezel doesn’t really bother me and I can get FaceID, 4K at 60fps, and a super fast phone that doesn’t cost $1,000
Alex Lamping I have a XS MAX but if your upgrading from the 6 then it’s obviously going to be worth it. You get the features that matter for $200 less, I say that because you should get the 128gb if your gunna have the phone for a while

Talks of Tech It’s been great, I really enjoy the animations and attention to detail. There are only a few things that I’m not a fan of, such as the fact that you need to go into settings to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth, you can’t do it from the control centre. Also I’d love to have some sort of a split screen multitasking option but features like Face ID and 3D Touch are actually really nice!

I came from an iPhone SE and I recently got the xr and I love it but like u said it depends on what phone you are coming from and since I came from an SE the xr is a huge upgrade
Drew, I think you miss the point with the XR and prices of iphones internationally. Here where I leave, the Xs costs around 1300 bucks for 64gb version. Where as average salary is only 700-800 dollars a month. And when it comes to XR, it costs around a 1000 usd. So I think internationally there’s a huge market for Xr.
There is just so much small things that Apple gets right that almost nobody else does, that makes such a massive difference. Some examples, 1) no time limit on recording videos in 4K 60fps, 2) the colour and image processing between photos and videos are exactly the same and consistent, even when using the telephoto camera. This cannot be said about competitors. The Pixels photos are vibrant, but their videos have a tendency to become washed out. The LG V40 cannot even take consistent photos (in terms of colours) between its three different lenses, and Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 handles low light way better in photo mode, but can get grainy in video mode. 3) The ability of iOS to react instantly and even join/interrupt gestures to create a wonderfully smooth and user friendly experience. The list goes on.
Upgraded to the Xs from a 7 and boy, do I love the Xs! The camera is superb and 4K at 60fps is a dream. The biggest change must be FaceID and gestures, but I love how intuitive they’ve been implemented. I always thought FaceID was going to get in the way, but I basically use the phone as it didn’t have a password and it just works lile magic. People get too hung up on the little of an upgrade the Xs are, but for everyone coming from a non-X, this is a major upgrade.
I love my XR and it's not difficult to justify. No burnout from google maps, 128GB for less than the XS with 64 and the software portrait works with external lenses which is the biggest plus of all. I'd only love it to be smaller, but that's about it.

I love my xs max. It's my first "big phone," and I definitely can't see myself going back. Any time I pick up an iPhone 8 (or similar form factor), it looks & feels shockingly small. But all around, I'm extremely happy with it. I do disagree with you about one thing, though. iPhones will definitely change more in the coming years than you say they will. They'll need to- Samsung is coming out with their foldable display phone next year, not to mention that they'll probably include an under-the-display camera in the galaxy s10 (as they recently demoed the technology for the press). That kind of pressure will force Apple to respond with further innovation of their own- which is a good thing. But no matter what, I think the next few years will bring all sorts of changes with them.
Did the same. Pwm is a huge problem on iphone oleds. Besides, battery life on xr is much better than on xs max. And the size, xr size is so much more confortable and pocketable.
Went from a X to a XR it’s the perfect size and I like the clean look of one camera lens, I also like the feel of the aluminum frame vs the stainless and the battery life is excellent.
In New Zealand a 64GB Xr will cost us $1399 (NZD) ~ $930 USD... as opposed to a 64GB Xs $1899 (NZD) ~ $1260 USD... My point is that, the difference is suddenly even bigger in international markets and for many it will make a lot of sense to purchase the Xr over its more pricey siblings
I was at the at&t store yesterday picking up a XR and saw it next to the XS/XS Max and couldn’t hardly notice a difference between the pixel density or even the bezels for that matter
People who are quick to scream “overpriced” (who probably have a Pixel product in their pocket or home) clearly don’t understand the concept that it’s not overpriced when you like what you get in return. Even if the specs are “less” than other phones which isn’t true but whatever, it’s still about the experience you get. A lot of people have called this years upgrades boring, but just because the design hasn’t changed it doesn’t mean it’s boring! IMO the Xs and Xs Max are the best all round smartphones released this year! Top 3 in camera department, 1st in video, top 3-5 in battery life, one of the best screens in a phone, top 3 for speaker quality, best video audio quality, much more durable, fastest phone in the world etc... no other smartphone released this year is as consistently good in every category
Plenty are happy with the XS Max (including myself), but yes...some will find the size too big. The same thing happened when the Plus phones came out. I heard of people returning them for the standard size phones since they are a lot easier to manage. The XS Max is even more so a 2 handed phone cause of the lack of bezels. Most can use the X/XS comfortably with one hand. I prefer the XS Max because especially in landscape, the XS has a noticeably narrower screen. The Max width and form factor is similar to the Plus phones.
@@kingkunta9505You are right, that is true, phones with 2:1 screens will fit their own aspect ratio quite nicely, however, my point was more that on those phones the youtube app allows you to pinch in and crop out the top and bottom to gain a "full screen" experience. On 16:9 devices you can not pinch in to crop off the edges and "full screen" a 2:1. It is nice that more and more phones are adopting a "new standard" of screen ratio but that doesn't help other devices. TVs, laptops, computer monitors, most smartphones on the market have 16:9. iPads and Pixel tablets are ~3:4 so you are literally losing half of the screen space to black bars that you can not crop away from. I guess my point is that in 16:9 users of 2:1 can crop in. but if the content is only 2:1 then users of 16:9 are stuck with black bars and no way to remove them. hope that made sense.
Tbh i prefer the xr cuz I went to look at it in the at&t store today and I love the thickness of the besles idk why I just do and I'm planning to get the iPhone 10r 128 GB soon as possible

I think a lot of people are wrong about the Xr. I've had mine about a week now, and I've gotta say I love it. I've used other peoples' X, XS, and XSMax's and while yeah they were great....the Xr just seems like the perfect combination and size but at a smaller price. Would the telephoto lens be cool? Yeah. Worth an extra $250...nah. OLED is cool, but also subjective and hurts some people's eyes (like mine). Overall though, everyone I know that's upgraded to the new 2018 lineup have loved whichever they purchased. But I've gotta say, I think the Xr wins, and will win this cycle in the end. Love the vids Drew.
my only problem with the XS Max is that the battery COULD be much larger and not just a tiny bit. And the second point is no landscape support at all... Not only that there is no landscape homescreen, but also many Apps don't support landscape like the Plus models in the past... But I still can't wait to get my XS Max at the end of the year!
I definitely notice the much less sharp xr display BUT...I on a personal level love the enormous boost this gives to the graphics performance, so its a net win to me
I bought the IPhone XR on launch day and its the perfect IPhone for me at this time. The cheaper price for what it gives is perfect for me! Although I did not use 3d touch and disliked it personally, I think Apple should instead of removing the feature make it so you can turn the feature on or off, giving those who don't like it an option to not have it, and those who want it, the option to have it.
Apple did say that it was pretty costly for manufacturing the pressure sensitive hardware into the phone itself. Probably why the XR can be quite a bit cheaper than the XS.
Watching this video in 2019 and his thought process of buying that phone was what I was thinking. I couldn’t wait for the xr to come out so I went with the Xs max. No issues with the phone and speedy. I waited for the s upgrade year when the first x came out. The size, increased 🔋, improved 📷, and increased water resistance. The software as well has gotten better.
I have small hands, but I will always tolerate how I have to use my phone in order to have the biggest iPhone screen. I get the biggest and baddest and use it for two or three years. A comment about Apple battery and RAM: I feel like Apple never has to boast a huge battery and massive RAM, because iOS just has better battery and RAM management. A joke I make about Samsung is “when your device needs a 4,000 mAh battery and 8GB of RAM just to function normally.” 😂
i got an amazing sprint deal and bought the iphone XS Max. and ok whatever it's done. But I do question if apple can continue raising the price. Their behavior of price increases across the board is getting too obvious. I hope they watch out.
After upgrading from the 6s to the Max, I'm almost positive I will not be upgrading again until this phone is, like, 6 years old (or until they come out with a purple iPhone) The Max is so future-proof, it's gonna take half a decade for it to feel as dated as a 5s and I'm fine with that
Depends on what new tech is introduced to mobile phones, you never know if some breakthrough in smartphones will come along and make your Xs max feel and look like a potato. 🤣
The next big upgrade we should at least be hyped about is MicroLED iPhones. It would be interesting to see how Apple manages to mass produce the MicroLED screens and if they plan on using it for all their products.

I know I’m super late, but I’m hopefully soon upgrading from a 7 Plus to a XS Max. I’m super excited for having the best of the 2018 iPhones. I’m willing to spend so much because I know it will last me super long :)
I think you missed some of the bigger updates the 6s brought. The 6s brought live photos, 12mp rear camera, and 5mp front facing camera. The 6 only had a 8mp rear camera and 1.2 front facing. I'll admit I'm one that has forgotten about 3D Touch, but I use the camera stuff all the time and is the main driver of my upgrades (as well as storage). Live photos are great as a parent to capture those moments the little one does. 3D touch is cool, but if they got rid of it, it wouldn't bother me at all and I probably wouldn't notice. I think one reason to get rid of it though is it is not on the iPad so it kind of left iOS disjointed.
Loving my Xs Max on 12.1, side by side to my X I can see how fast the Max is but not in all my apps but in normal use I can’t tell that much of a difference. The big screen but still smaller than the + size iPhones then that’s nice for me because + is too big for me. I still think the X/Xs is a perfect size for me since it was in the middle. The speakers on the Max omg make my X sound quiet and I’m really loving 512gb, I really hate iCloud except for when it’s transferring notes and contacts. To make the upgrade I had to get the Max and 512 because 64 would be a downgrade from 256gb lol and since I was spending over a thousand already I’m like just go all out who cares. I love the size of this thing as well, I use 3D Touch a lot and especially on the keyboard
As someone who works for one of the major service providers. Trust me that $250 price difference is a major thing for customers. Even those who pay for their device monthly. A lot of people aren’t comfortable paying $1000 for a phone.
I just "upgraded" from the X to the XR. Screen difference doesn't seem huge, too me. And I NEVER used optical zoom. Saved $23 a month on my phone plan.
I've never used the cursor thing cause I use the Swiftkey keyboard. Swiping keyboards are much faster for typing. I've never had an issue with moving the cursor around the other way. All the ways I use 3D Touch are still available on the XR.
I love my iPhone 9. Don’t even begin to miss the display of my Galaxy S7. Plus my battery lasts about 10 times longer now. My phone isn’t a snail crawling through molasses. And I don’t have to play hot potato with it randomly for no apparent reason.
In Germany the iphone XR costs 1040$ in 128GB because 64 is not enough for me and the Xs is not an option because of the small display and lower Battery . My other Option was an iPhone Xs Max with 256GB witch costs convertet 1620$ .... 580$ was to much to invest. As result I got an iPhone XR and an Homepod a nice Case and saved money. In the US I probably got the XsMax but here in Germany the prices are absolutely insane. And I love my XR and the Homepods sound qualities are amazing. I accept the minor downgrades. For the XR I really hope they went for the same capsule-shaped camera bump and put the flash inside the bump too. At first I thought the round camera bump was better, but then after using cases on my XS Max I realized how distracting the empty space around the flash could be with cases on.
I have many years of experience with iPhones and my XR is the best iPhone experience I’ve had since my first iPhone 3G. I love this phone. I also like the Samsung Note 9 and the Galaxy S9+. I don’t believe in being a phone snob because there’s a TON of great smartphones out there right now. Rock on people and buy the phone you like. It’s all good.
I truly love my iPhone XS MAX! I think it’s the ultimate iPhone in a long time.. now that I’ve seen the body design of the new iPad Pro.. I now which Apple will bring this iPhone 5 boxy design to the next iPhone’s in 2019.. I really liked the iPhone 5 body design and I think it would look amazing in an iPhone X style.
So I got the iPhone XR as it would be the first iPhone I ever got and was upgrading from a galaxy s6. I’m not a power user, I just need good battery life and a phone that worked well. I love this phone and I expect to hold onto it for 4 years. If it makes it to that point than I consider it an amazing investment 😁 for those wondering what if it breaks , I have an otter box defender on it so it’s gonna last lol
I love my X S Max. I'm watching this on my X S Max. The battery life is amazing. It lasts me anywhere from 8-12 hours sometimes even surpassing that last 14-15 hours which is insane
Just for the record the 5S brought the first 64bit processor to market and is why it is still supported today. It may of seemed like a minor upgrade over the 5, but the iPhone 5S was truly ahead of it’s time.
I can't even have either (or even any) iPhones. :/ My family dislikes Apple just because they sell their products very "overpriced". And probably because it has the Apple logo... ._. But for me, the iPhone XR or this year's iPhone 11 is kinda worth it for the price.
Two words: Product Red! Coming from an iPhone 6Plus 128 Space Grey (which I included Apple Care +). I could have a new release iPhone of the same capacity with Apple Care + and most of the flagship features of XS for less money than I paid for the top of the line phone back then! I must say when I actually saw that Product Red XR in the Apple Store I was absolutely blown away and it didn't even occur to me that I would be sacrificing anything with that display! It's so beautiful I would consider rocking it naked! That phone would be a significant upgrade in every way over my existing phone at a cheaper price point without feeling like a cheaper phone! On top of that, My iPhone 6Plus is still in excellent condition. I would get top trade in value. And that is my dilemma. Am I being impractical to want the new shiny object when my current device still works well? It's a question only I can answer. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I have always found 3D touch to be an unnecessary expense and screen technology when a “long press” could do the same thing and it doesn’t need that layer in the display for the 3D touch feature. I do not “preview” stuff on instagram with 3D touch. Might as well open the post. If apple would get rid of 3D touch in the future and replaced it with a long press with haptic feedback, I wouldn’t mind it all. I doubt it’ll lower the price of their devices though.
Dude finishing at 30% battery on Xs Max with a 3174 mAh battery at ‘heavy use’. Either you have a magical battery in there or mine is worse since I sometimes even end up coming home from school at night with an empty battery.
You are supposed to know all things Apple but you don't even know the obvious reason as to why the XR had to have larger bezel? It's a LCD, and they cannot fold an LCD behind itself around the edges and corners like they can with an OLED, so they cannot make it reach completely flush to the edges as they would with an OLED. The LCD in there is completely flat and straight, with a tiny bit of overlap on the corners to allow for pixels at the roundest point, but no folding, so bigger bezel. The OLED is folded meaning it can reach the very very edge of the casing.
You saying You took many pictures And you use iCloud 2T option. In my case, I got 100gb photos and videos. And i use iCloud 2T option too. How you handle that many pictures? You don’t use iCloud photos? Could you make a video about Opimize iPhone storage option?
I think the iPhone XR is the iPhone 8 of the time. My friend bought a 8 plus 256gb and after he realized how much he was spending (more than 900) He felt kinda stupid for getting the 8 instead of the X. Same thing here for most of the market. I can save money, but it’s not that much especially considering monthly payments. Like you said. I really wish we would know how the XR does.
Idk about in the US or the rest of the world but I live in Tijuana Mexico, and I go back and forth between San Diego and Tijuana for work, but sadly people here do buy IPhones because of the brand, they really care about having an IPhone just to fit in with certain groups

I just picked up an iPhone XS Max yesterday, and It really is a fantastic device, but I do have one complaint. My max drops frames quite frequently, which is odd considering my 6s on iOS 12 is completely lag free. Perhaps this is due to the more complex animations that come with gesture controls? I didn’t own an iPhone X, so I can’t speak on how that device performed with its older a11. Does anyone else notice more lag than usual on their xs? Maybe this is an issue regarding my specific device.
Hey man just thought I'd let you know that your videos lag when playing in 4K. I originally thought it was my wifi but I'm able to watch 4k lag free on basically every other video. It seems like just your videos aren't optimized for 4K. It honestly doesn't matter 1440p is just fine plus a macbook pro doesn't have a 4k display but just thought I'd let you know. Great review though!
I really can’t figure out why everyone is hating on the Xr bezels. Yes, they are bigger than the X, but they aren’t big. A year or 2 ago, everyone would have been raving over the screen and the lack of bezels, but now everyone has the X and Xs to compare to. The bezels are still extremely small on the Xr. I just don’t see them as big like all of the reviews are saying.
I have the Xs Max but I got the XR so I can have RUclips playing while still doing stuff with the Xs Max. I didn't want to get RUclips Premium because it was ¥1,500 a month. And once RUclips is open, you cannot do anything else on an iPhone. I also use the XR to play music while I'm on the go because of the good battery life.
It's like buying a car...the upfront cost is only the beginning. You've got wear and tear (breaks and scratches) and upkeep (cases and screen protectors) to pay for. Then you've got the ecosystem. iCloud costs money. A $750 phone turns into a $1000 investment very quickly. I'm going Xr. Besides, I bet next year's Xr (Xq?) will probably start at $1000.

The Xr is a really good phone with an amazing battery. I couldn’t recommend it anymore. One of the best phones I’ve had so far.

Talks of Tech It’s been great, I really enjoy the animations and attention to detail. There are only a few things that I’m not a fan of, such as the fact that you need to go into settings to turn off WiFi and Bluetooth, you can’t do it from the control centre. Also I’d love to have some sort of a split screen multitasking option but features like Face ID and 3D Touch are actually really nice!

Drew, I think you miss the point with the XR and prices of iphones internationally. Here where I leave, the Xs costs around 1300 bucks for 64gb version. Where as average salary is only 700-800 dollars a month. And when it comes to XR, it costs around a 1000 usd. So I think internationally there’s a huge market for Xr.

There is just so much small things that Apple gets right that almost nobody else does, that makes such a massive difference. Some examples, 1) no time limit on recording videos in 4K 60fps, 2) the colour and image processing between photos and videos are exactly the same and consistent, even when using the telephoto camera. This cannot be said about competitors. The Pixels photos are vibrant, but their videos have a tendency to become washed out. The LG V40 cannot even take consistent photos (in terms of colours) between its three different lenses, and Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 handles low light way better in photo mode, but can get grainy in video mode. 3) The ability of iOS to react instantly and even join/interrupt gestures to create a wonderfully smooth and user friendly experience. The list goes on.

Upgraded to the Xs from a 7 and boy, do I love the Xs! The camera is superb and 4K at 60fps is a dream. The biggest change must be FaceID and gestures, but I love how intuitive they’ve been implemented. I always thought FaceID was going to get in the way, but I basically use the phone as it didn’t have a password and it just works lile magic. People get too hung up on the little of an upgrade the Xs are, but for everyone coming from a non-X, this is a major upgrade.

I love my XR and it's not difficult to justify. No burnout from google maps, 128GB for less than the XS with 64 and the software portrait works with external lenses which is the biggest plus of all. I'd only love it to be smaller, but that's about it.

I love my xs max. It's my first "big phone," and I definitely can't see myself going back. Any time I pick up an iPhone 8 (or similar form factor), it looks & feels shockingly small. But all around, I'm extremely happy with it.
I do disagree with you about one thing, though. iPhones will definitely change more in the coming years than you say they will. They'll need to- Samsung is coming out with their foldable display phone next year, not to mention that they'll probably include an under-the-display camera in the galaxy s10 (as they recently demoed the technology for the press). That kind of pressure will force Apple to respond with further innovation of their own- which is a good thing. But no matter what, I think the next few years will bring all sorts of changes with them.

Went from a X to a XR it’s the perfect size and I like the clean look of one camera lens, I also like the feel of the aluminum frame vs the stainless and the battery life is excellent.
In New Zealand a 64GB Xr will cost us $1399 (NZD) ~ $930 USD... as opposed to a 64GB Xs $1899 (NZD) ~ $1260 USD... My point is that, the difference is suddenly even bigger in international markets and for many it will make a lot of sense to purchase the Xr over its more pricey siblings

A lot of people have called this years upgrades boring, but just because the design hasn’t changed it doesn’t mean it’s boring! IMO the Xs and Xs Max are the best all round smartphones released this year! Top 3 in camera department, 1st in video, top 3-5 in battery life, one of the best screens in a phone, top 3 for speaker quality, best video audio quality, much more durable, fastest phone in the world etc... no other smartphone released this year is as consistently good in every category

The girl who sold me my iPhone XR said that some people are returning their XS Max's because it's too dam big. That's right from a Best Buy employee.
Plenty are happy with the XS Max (including myself), but yes...some will find the size too big. The same thing happened when the Plus phones came out. I heard of people returning them for the standard size phones since they are a lot easier to manage. The XS Max is even more so a 2 handed phone cause of the lack of bezels. Most can use the X/XS comfortably with one hand. I prefer the XS Max because especially in landscape, the XS has a noticeably narrower screen. The Max width and form factor is similar to the Plus phones.
The XR itself is already pretty if you put a case on it. Lol

@@kingkunta9505You are right, that is true, phones with 2:1 screens will fit their own aspect ratio quite nicely, however, my point was more that on those phones the youtube app allows you to pinch in and crop out the top and bottom to gain a "full screen" experience. On 16:9 devices you can not pinch in to crop off the edges and "full screen" a 2:1.
It is nice that more and more phones are adopting a "new standard" of screen ratio but that doesn't help other devices. TVs, laptops, computer monitors, most smartphones on the market have 16:9. iPads and Pixel tablets are ~3:4 so you are literally losing half of the screen space to black bars that you can not crop away from.
I guess my point is that in 16:9 users of 2:1 can crop in. but if the content is only 2:1 then users of 16:9 are stuck with black bars and no way to remove them.

I think a lot of people are wrong about the Xr. I've had mine about a week now, and I've gotta say I love it. I've used other peoples' X, XS, and XSMax's and while yeah they were great....the Xr just seems like the perfect combination and size but at a smaller price. Would the telephoto lens be cool? Yeah. Worth an extra $250...nah. OLED is cool, but also subjective and hurts some people's eyes (like mine). Overall though, everyone I know that's upgraded to the new 2018 lineup have loved whichever they purchased. But I've gotta say, I think the Xr wins, and will win this cycle in the end. Love the vids Drew.
my only problem with the XS Max is that the battery COULD be much larger and not just a tiny bit. And the second point is no landscape support at all... Not only that there is no landscape homescreen, but also many Apps don't support landscape like the Plus models in the past...
But I still can't wait to get my XS Max at the end of the year!
It's believed that the reason for this is because Face ID doesn't work in landscape mode.

I bought the IPhone XR on launch day and its the perfect IPhone for me at this time. The cheaper price for what it gives is perfect for me! Although I did not use 3d touch and disliked it personally, I think Apple should instead of removing the feature make it so you can turn the feature on or off, giving those who don't like it an option to not have it, and those who want it, the option to have it.

Apple did say that it was pretty costly for manufacturing the pressure sensitive hardware into the phone itself. Probably why the XR can be quite a bit cheaper than the XS.

Watching this video in 2019 and his thought process of buying that phone was what I was thinking. I couldn’t wait for the xr to come out so I went with the Xs max. No issues with the phone and speedy. I waited for the s upgrade year when the first x came out. The size, increased 🔋, improved 📷, and increased water resistance. The software as well has gotten better.
I have small hands, but I will always tolerate how I have to use my phone in order to have the biggest iPhone screen. I get the biggest and baddest and use it for two or three years.
A comment about Apple battery and RAM: I feel like Apple never has to boast a huge battery and massive RAM, because iOS just has better battery and RAM management. A joke I make about Samsung is “when your device needs a 4,000 mAh battery and 8GB of RAM just to function normally.” 😂
i got an amazing sprint deal and bought the iphone XS Max. and ok whatever it's done. But I do question if apple can continue raising the price. Their behavior of price increases across the board is getting too obvious. I hope they watch out.

I think you missed some of the bigger updates the 6s brought. The 6s brought live photos, 12mp rear camera, and 5mp front facing camera. The 6 only had a 8mp rear camera and 1.2 front facing. I'll admit I'm one that has forgotten about 3D Touch, but I use the camera stuff all the time and is the main driver of my upgrades (as well as storage). Live photos are great as a parent to capture those moments the little one does. 3D touch is cool, but if they got rid of it, it wouldn't bother me at all and I probably wouldn't notice. I think one reason to get rid of it though is it is not on the iPad so it kind of left iOS disjointed.
Loving my Xs Max on 12.1, side by side to my X I can see how fast the Max is but not in all my apps but in normal use I can’t tell that much of a difference. The big screen but still smaller than the + size iPhones then that’s nice for me because + is too big for me. I still think the X/Xs is a perfect size for me since it was in the middle. The speakers on the Max omg make my X sound quiet and I’m really loving 512gb, I really hate iCloud except for when it’s transferring notes and contacts. To make the upgrade I had to get the Max and 512 because 64 would be a downgrade from 256gb lol and since I was spending over a thousand already I’m like just go all out who cares. I love the size of this thing as well, I use 3D Touch a lot and especially on the keyboard

As someone who works for one of the major service providers. Trust me that $250 price difference is a major thing for customers. Even those who pay for their device monthly. A lot of people aren’t comfortable paying $1000 for a phone.

I just "upgraded" from the X to the XR. Screen difference doesn't seem huge, too me. And I NEVER used optical zoom. Saved $23 a month on my phone plan.

I've never used the cursor thing cause I use the Swiftkey keyboard. Swiping keyboards are much faster for typing. I've never had an issue with moving the cursor around the other way. All the ways I use 3D Touch are still available on the XR.
I love my iPhone 9. Don’t even begin to miss the display of my Galaxy S7. Plus my battery lasts about 10 times longer now. My phone isn’t a snail crawling through molasses. And I don’t have to play hot potato with it randomly for no apparent reason.
In Germany the iphone XR costs 1040$ in 128GB because 64 is not enough for me and the Xs is not an option because of the small display and lower Battery . My other Option was an iPhone Xs Max with 256GB witch costs convertet 1620$ .... 580$ was to much to invest. As result I got an iPhone XR and an Homepod a nice Case and saved money. In the US I probably got the XsMax but here in Germany the prices are absolutely insane. And I love my XR and the Homepods sound qualities are amazing. I accept the minor downgrades.

For the XR I really hope they went for the same capsule-shaped camera bump and put the flash inside the bump too. At first I thought the round camera bump was better, but then after using cases on my XS Max I realized how distracting the empty space around the flash could be with cases on.

I have many years of experience with iPhones and my XR is the best iPhone experience I’ve had since my first iPhone 3G. I love this phone. I also like the Samsung Note 9 and the Galaxy S9+. I don’t believe in being a phone snob because there’s a TON of great smartphones out there right now. Rock on people and buy the phone you like. It’s all good.
I truly love my iPhone XS MAX! I think it’s the ultimate iPhone in a long time.. now that I’ve seen the body design of the new iPad Pro.. I now which Apple will bring this iPhone 5 boxy design to the next iPhone’s in 2019.. I really liked the iPhone 5 body design and I think it would look amazing in an iPhone X style.
So I got the iPhone XR as it would be the first iPhone I ever got and was upgrading from a galaxy s6. I’m not a power user, I just need good battery life and a phone that worked well. I love this phone and I expect to hold onto it for 4 years. If it makes it to that point than I consider it an amazing investment 😁 for those wondering what if it breaks , I have an otter box defender on it so it’s gonna last lol

I love my X S Max. I'm watching this on my X S Max. The battery life is amazing. It lasts me anywhere from 8-12 hours sometimes even surpassing that last 14-15 hours which is insane
Just for the record the 5S brought the first 64bit processor to market and is why it is still supported today. It may of seemed like a minor upgrade over the 5, but the iPhone 5S was truly ahead of it’s time.

Two words: Product Red! Coming from an iPhone 6Plus 128 Space Grey (which I included Apple Care +). I could have a new release iPhone of the same capacity with Apple Care + and most of the flagship features of XS for less money than I paid for the top of the line phone back then! I must say when I actually saw that Product Red XR in the Apple Store I was absolutely blown away and it didn't even occur to me that I would be sacrificing anything with that display! It's so beautiful I would consider rocking it naked! That phone would be a significant upgrade in every way over my existing phone at a cheaper price point without feeling like a cheaper phone! On top of that, My iPhone 6Plus is still in excellent condition. I would get top trade in value. And that is my dilemma. Am I being impractical to want the new shiny object when my current device still works well? It's a question only I can answer. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I have always found 3D touch to be an unnecessary expense and screen technology when a “long press” could do the same thing and it doesn’t need that layer in the display for the 3D touch feature. I do not “preview” stuff on instagram with 3D touch. Might as well open the post. If apple would get rid of 3D touch in the future and replaced it with a long press with haptic feedback, I wouldn’t mind it all. I doubt it’ll lower the price of their devices though.
Dude finishing at 30% battery on Xs Max with a 3174 mAh battery at ‘heavy use’. Either you have a magical battery in there or mine is worse since I sometimes even end up coming home from school at night with an empty battery.
You are supposed to know all things Apple but you don't even know the obvious reason as to why the XR had to have larger bezel? It's a LCD, and they cannot fold an LCD behind itself around the edges and corners like they can with an OLED, so they cannot make it reach completely flush to the edges as they would with an OLED. The LCD in there is completely flat and straight, with a tiny bit of overlap on the corners to allow for pixels at the roundest point, but no folding, so bigger bezel. The OLED is folded meaning it can reach the very very edge of the casing.

I just picked up an iPhone XS Max yesterday, and It really is a fantastic device, but I do have one complaint. My max drops frames quite frequently, which is odd considering my 6s on iOS 12 is completely lag free. Perhaps this is due to the more complex animations that come with gesture controls? I didn’t own an iPhone X, so I can’t speak on how that device performed with its older a11. Does anyone else notice more lag than usual on their xs? Maybe this is an issue regarding my specific device.
They only thing that I don’t like about the XR is that there is not 3D Touch... I agree with you, they should really keep that feature.
Hey man just thought I'd let you know that your videos lag when playing in 4K. I originally thought it was my wifi but I'm able to watch 4k lag free on basically every other video. It seems like just your videos aren't optimized for 4K. It honestly doesn't matter 1440p is just fine plus a macbook pro doesn't have a 4k display but just thought I'd let you know. I really can’t figure out why everyone is hating on the Xr bezels. Yes, they are bigger than the X, but they aren’t big. A year or 2 ago, everyone would have been raving over the screen and the lack of bezels, but now everyone has the X and Xs to compare to. The bezels are still extremely small on the Xr. I just don’t see them as big like all of the reviews are saying.

I have the Xs Max but I got the XR so I can have RUclips playing while still doing stuff with the Xs Max. I didn't want to get RUclips Premium because it was ¥1,500 a month.
