I feel like it’s Nanno fault things got out hand, and she wasn’t really doing her job. She let rapists go lose, she also didn’t do anything when yuri killed K (Or the others) Also she wasn’t really teaching people a lesson it was more like teasing and messing with people’s brains ? She also did absolutely nothing to stop Yuri, it was like she was just going to different school’s leaving Yuri with people knowing she’s dangerous and out for revenge and killing people for her own aesthetic and entertainment. Like she was playing with her food “Yuri” her purpose was to go to Yuri’s school and to teach Yuri’s friends instead she got twisted into Yuri’s lies and got sent to that place. ( I can see why she did it, She was fooled I was to lol) But that could’ve end in a differently path. She knew Yuri is a blood thirsty but her revenge on other people Nanno did absolutely nothing regardless the situation. Now to go on “Junko” ( I think that’s how you spell their name) Now there’s two ways this could have gone 1. ( Getting rid of Yuri you know why) 2. Exposed the mom, Because exposing her would also stop Junko from becoming a monster it’s the mom fault so what ever she says is not important and because she knew she was in the wrong she let Junko kill innocent people just for her own aesthetic and entertainment for her “Anatomy” phrase the mom saw it was getting out hand but did absolutely nothing but poison her which is also a dumb reason ( Of how she thought she could stop her )which made Nanno feel bad for the mom because of the mom’s sob story of how she tried to stop Junko. Nanno could have alert the authorities before she did things her own way. I was typing to fast and made error sentences (that I’m to lazy to fix 🙂) how I see things (I’m also gonna copy and paste this because I’ve done so much for it to not be seen)
Nanno was initially annoyed by Yuri, but she slowly came to the realization that while karma always comes back, revenge also finds a way. Although Nanno was always surrounded by crowds of people, she was alone in the sense that she couldn't stay or connect with anyone, fated to wander through time and space while humans could only ever pass her by. But now they're bound together. She can evade Yuri's presence, but they always end up coming back to one another. The annoyance grew into despair, and soon Nanno longed to be alone again. To go back to what she was used to. But she made Yuri into who she was, and like it or not, they're tied together by that red string of fate and hate. I really hope the writers continue their storyline in any possible future seasons, that dynamic has a lot of potential

I love s2 because it’s not just nanno going to schools and no one knowing where she comes from. I love that in s2 it shows that this power can be passed and nanno and yuri are connected, also we are getting closer to knowing who nanno is and where she came from. We also know she sleeps because she had a nightmare so maybe that’s how she sees what schools to go to, through her dreams

A big point to this series is that Nanno literally points out in almost every episode on how us “humans” work out on doing bad things. Both the cause and effect of our problems, and justices to doing them. We either do it for revenge, vengeance, living, or hatred.
Funny enough on how she doesn’t depict herself as a human too, especially since she literally comes back to life all the more by her choice of time. I think this points out the title of the series being, “Girl From Nowhere.” Where she is from a girl from nowhere.
She comes, and goes. Similarly like a nobody. A fake yet real person. This brings a realization to me that the whole point of the series is for people to understand that the things we do comes with a price from our own actions. Life is its own medicine. Nanno is life to what our cost in evil is.

I think Nanno brings herself back by creating more of herself while yuri just naturally regenerates. We've seen multiple Nannos before, all hurt and has injuries and the episode Liberation clearly shown that, while Yuri just comes back to life out of nowhere not hurt. Maybe Yuri didn't knew how Nanno's regeneration work so she assumed that she became human in the last episodes in S2.

It makes me kinda sad that Yuri was just a normal girl with a loving family before Nanno interfered. Nanno in a way created a monster that has the potential to be her own undoing
Well, not quite. Is already implied that Yuri was already broken, and would've done something alike either way. She was just acting. Even in front of Nanno, she just acted, including the act with her mother, it looked quite staged. Yuri could've bought her mom a phone any other day, and it was the last model. It made no sense giving that to her. And the mother didnt even know that her daughter was getting any sort of money up until that point, so is safe to assume Yuri never did help her and did everything only for herself. She even looked displeased when giving the phone to her.
As another comment said, Yuri is "revenge" and Nanno is "karma". Yuri can be seen as the result of what happens when "karma" is "too late" and the victim becomes the new villian.
Karma is the result of one's own actions. Revenge is senseless and reckless, without rules and with the sole purpose of hurting. Regardless of who is innocent and who isn't. It can consume not only the intended person, but everyone around them. It contaminates them. Just as what happened with Junko. She became the "new" Yuri.
The end line of the second season also makes sense with all of that. "In a world where people take justice in their own hands, am I even needed?", meaning that in a world where revenge exists, is Karma even necessary?
The response is that sometimes, revenge is a part of karma. Just as Yuri is a part of Nanno, and as she said, they're like mother and daughter. But Revenge, more often than not, is more damaging than deserved.
I honestly love the symbolism of this series and I'm very sad that no one is actually that much into it and not making any theories - probably because the series itself are quite heavy for the heart.
Huh, that actually would make a thematical sense. The way i see it, is that, Is the people Nanno punish deserve it? Yes, but who gave her the *right* to enforce her own version of Karma trough her own means. There is no precise point when justice became revenge and by punishing people who deserves it, she might also, perhaps deserves a punishment.

I feel like it’s Nanno fault things got out hand, and she wasn’t really doing her job. She let rapists go lose, she also didn’t do anything when yuri killed K (Or the others) Also she wasn’t really teaching people a lesson it was more like teasing and messing with people’s brains ? She also did absolutely nothing to stop Yuri, it was like she was just going to different school’s leaving Yuri with people knowing she’s dangerous and out for revenge and killing people for her own aesthetic and entertainment. Like she was playing with her food “Yuri” her purpose was to go to Yuri’s school and to teach Yuri’s friends instead she got twisted into Yuri’s lies and got sent to that place. ( I can see why she did it, She was fooled I was to lol) But that could’ve end in a differently path. She knew Yuri is a blood thirsty but her revenge on other people Nanno did absolutely nothing regardless the situation. Now to go on “Junko” ( I think that’s how you spell their name) Now there’s two ways this could have gone 1. ( Getting rid of Yuri you know why) 2. Exposed the mom, Because exposing her would also stop Junko from becoming a monster it’s the mom fault so what ever she says is not important and because she knew she was in the wrong she let Junko kill innocent people just for her own aesthetic and entertainment for her “Anatomy” phrase the mom saw it was getting out hand but did absolutely nothing but poison her which is also a dumb reason ( Of how she thought she could stop her )which made Nanno feel bad for the mom because of the mom’s sob story of how she tried to stop Junko. Nanno could have alert the authorities before she did things her own way. I was typing to fast and made error sentences (that I’m to lazy to fix 🙂) how I see things (I’m also gonna copy and paste this because I’ve done so much for it to not be seen)

I still can't imagine them as friends or lover. Nanno character is much alike tomie. In the manga, tomie could never get along with another tomie. They would kill each other whatever it takes. Only one tomie can exist. Its hard for me imagining them make peace and be girlfriends 😂 Hope the writer can provide a good plot for them being peacefully together at the end
