Was he not going a bit too slow? I don't have a lot of experience navigating bars like this in power boats. But it seemed like he was actually overtaken by waves a few times, and I am pretty sure that is the worst thing that you can let happen. I am sure he had plenty of power available to go faster.
@@mckenziekeith7434 Instead of plowing through the waves and chop he instead modulated his speed to stay perfectly between them... if you watch most of the other boats they are clearly being slammed by the waves regardless of their speed or pitch.
@@FAKE-NAME lol..."flawed"... From what I saw the boat was overtaken by its own wake. Not a wave. Seems sorta petty though, can't say I care enough to debate about a boat and how it managed to navigate its way through haulover inlet.

Those Boston Whalers are pretty dang impressive , especially the smaller ones they take the waves better than a lot of the bigger boats out there….👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Why don’t you try riding in one of those before you make a statement like that! Those boats basically have a flat bottom, No flat bottom boats take waves well!
Tipsy my ass he was almost too drunk to stand. His girlfriend was a little tipsy. One good jolt and they both would have been down. Watching these boat channels there's more lunacy than there is common sense! Everybody wants to be a poser. The bowriders don't have sense enough to sit down. That's okay, mother nature will sit you down one way or the other. You can do it the hard way or you can do it the easy way. Your choice!
He’s the best captain in southeast FL I can garuntee you that, him and I (the “bow rider”) work on the boat and have a good understanding of how to operate safely even when standing in less then considerable conditions, I am not saying that sitting down as opposed to standing is unadvisable, I completely agree that it is safer. But I assure you neither I or the girl were in any danger.
04:38 The center console grab bar is not designed to support the full weight of an adult male. When the bar fails, he will be in the path of the boat behind him.
I've noticed the wave "surfing" coming in, but in a smaller boat (mid 20s and shorter) what's the best way to handle incoming waves? It seems 90° is prone to dipping, but sideways in bad news. At a slight angle?
They are dipping when they come off of the throttle (or lose speed by not throttling up a bit) as they go up the wave. It lets the wave roll under them and the bow comes down in the trough of the next one. You need to maintain speed up the face of the wave so the bow stays up with the stern sliding down the wave. You need to keep your bow up. The biggest mistake people make is pulling back too much and letting the front dip. You either need to fly through and take the pounding or stay on your throttle to keep your speed up the wave face. Just my experience from doing the inlet at Southwest pass at the mouth of the Miss. River. We have standing swells like that when the river is flowing heavily.
Where is everyone watching from today? 🌎
Still in Houston, texas.
Next month visiting Florida

Two regular old American girls in a clapped out 40 year old Boston Whaler beats a youtube millionaire hands down.... Every time.... No competition.
I'm surprised the 2 drunks standing on the bow of the Colleen Marie didn't fall overboard.
Hopefully they'll see this video and figure out how stupid they look. Possibly change their drunken ways!
notice they came in when there was no waves. lets see them try that when there are some. maybe then id be impressed by anyone on that boat...lol

At 4:09 am they're very, very smart to get back to dry land! For such small boats, it is preferable to change course !!! 😀😉👍
Glad to see those plumbers out there enjoying the water at 1:02
