Its true, Jesus died on the cross for us to save us.I would say it is pointless to be a fan taking things for granted instead follow Jesus.

If your an atheist, then why are you watching christian video's? If I don't believe in something I sure wouldn't waste my time watching anything about it. So, evidently something about christianity interests you, your just not ready to admit it. I Pray God will soften your heart one day.

Why are you Christians forever trying to beat up yourselves and each other? --always finding fault, always afraid you're not a good enough or committed enough Christian? Why the constant self deprecation? What does a "heartfelt commitment to follow Jesus" actually mean? What does it entail and why should any one be so disposed? Does it mean to parade around like an raving obsessed, zealot? What specifically do you expect people to do? And what do you think god will do to those who don't live their lives with your level of commitment?

I'm not a "fan" of the first two and a half minutes. Believing in Jesus, and making a "heartfelt commitment to follow Him" are two totally different things:
The Greek verb for "believe" is "pisteuō" which means either "to believe" or "to be persuaded of," and hence, "to place confidence in, to trust." It signifies reliance upon, not mere credence or commitment. The Amplified Bible translates "pisteuō" with: "to trust in, cling to, and rely on;" as in for example John 3:16. In other words, we are to rely on Jesus to save us (from Hell).
Yes, Jesus uses the phrase "follow Me" a lot in the gospels, but NEVER is that phrase associated with salvation. And, as opposed to the usage of that phrase being a mere 20 times, the word "believe" occurs 248 times in the New Testament (many times, in the context of receiving salvation), and the words "believe" and "faith" are specifically said to be the way to gain eternal life over 50 times in the New Testament, not "following Jesus." Following Jesus is definitely tied to believing in Him, but in the sense that it is the FRUIT of our trust in Him, NOT the root. It happens as a RESULT of faith. They are not one in the same.
"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" - Acts 2:21
This verse clearly indicates our need to trust in Jesus and not the need to make a "heartfelt commitment to follow Him." As if we could commit to being perfect:
Jesus said, "Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." - Matthew 5:48

***** That would be insane, and we should follow Him, but that's not the point. The point is that literally following him (a.k.a. works) does not save you.
"for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure." - Philippians 2:13

Christianity is insanity. We accept that. We are called to give everything away and trust a God who calls us to weakness. This is based on faith which in our case means God is who He says He is and that He will do what he says he will do. You can believe it or not you can be sane and deny it or crazy and accept it.

Why would you think this video is remotely convincing to a skeptical rational mind? I'm an atheist young person and videos like this only confirm the insanity of Christianity.
