John McLeod don’t worry. He’s got a .38 tucked in his waistband, a .45 in the mid console, and shotgun concealed behind the seats... Nah, he’s from New England, where he’s more likely to have concealed CBD oil and pot brownies than carry a firearm (which only comes out in fall for hunting season to get ethically sourced organic meat!)
this video is big! "As big as my coffee was this morning" - Si. Excellent ride, gorgeous scenery. Jeremy is a great addition to the GCN crew. Can't wait for more
For the first time watching a GCN video, I get to say "I've been there!" So happy Jeremy has joined the team. Looking forward to more rides in Western Mass and Vermont
Si/Jeremy, if you get the chance you should come to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. You can do a ride here and hit all of our 29 covered bridges within the county.
Love to see some more stuff from the USA. I mean, I'm from California and one of the reasons I watch GCN is because I love the British sense of humor and stuff, but this was gold! Please keep it up!
Si and Jeremy are fantastic together. I realize that geography poses a bit of an issue, but I would like to see more from this pair. Both of their ride videos are really spectacular and maybe this could be an idea for a series.
Brilliant vid guys, idilic locale. I doubled the enjoyment by watching the UK ride that preceded this USA one, both excellent!! That Jeremy chap is a jolly good bloke! And as for the bridge of flowers, puts the planned London Garden bridge in the shade, it was beautiful!! I’d even warmed up with the epic Poland ride, some top top content from you lot (as ever!!), keep it up!! 👍👍👍😀
My home state on my home roads! It's a bit strange to see Shelburne Falls and Colrain mentioned on GCN. I spend part of every summer in Montague. Incredible riding, incredible views, good people, good coffee, good beer. One small nit: the Western Mass soundtrack is Dinosaur Jr, acoustic folk and Polish polka, not blues, harmonicas and slide guitars. Western Mass is a few thousand miles from Texas.
This is such a fantastic ride. I live in NYC which isnt that far from MA and I would love to explore it. I was'nt so sure about Jeremy Powers joining the GCN family before but he's growing on me now. A tremendous personality. Thanks GCN for a representation on this side of the Atlantic.
All of the older buildings and cute little shops that the USA embraces in small town living. I would love to go cycling there. Considering Si was trying Dunkin donuts, when you come to Canada, you have to compare with Tim hortons!
While I’ve loved all of GCN’s content for years, I’m very excited for some New England based videos where I might be able to get out and ride those routes myself!
One of the best travelogues I've ever seen, via any channel or format. Massachusetts looks beautiful. Note to TV producers - watching people who get on and have a joint love is entertaining; there doesn't have to be any conflict or false jeopardy.
a few weeks back I did the GFNY and was staggered that only 50 miles from the middle of manhattan you can stand on bear mountain Tain and just see rolling hills forests and lovely countryside have to admit my preconceptions about the Staes took a big hit that day
Friends and I did this ride this past weekend....It was absolutely terrific! Thanks Jeremy for mapping it out and posting it. We plan on doing it again in the fall when the area is in full color of the fall. Thanks again!
I watched this after back from work, and done some bike maintenance. My body quite tired, but it is paid after watching this. It is so relaxing. I am ready to sleep now...
Man, I recognize huge chicks of this from the D2R2, and there are some amazing roads you guys hit. Green River Road might be one of my favorite roads I've ever ridden, dirt or paved, and Patten late in a ride is the sort of climb that just makes your legs hurt to think about. As I sit here the week before the D2R2 should have been run, it's just awesome to see uyou guys tearing it up in a part of the country I always look forward to riding. One of my favorite places to ride - thanks for filming this!
The place looks stunning, and with Jeremy's history lesson makes cycling and swimming around the place very appealing. Great video.....as always thanks guys! All the best Andy
Absolutely, The BEST 18 mins. on GCN. I live in Easthampton, ride that area a lot, but no gravel (don't want to scratch my bikes). JP, you should have introduced Si, to the Rootbeer Float. This part of Mass. is very popular for cycling. Many clubs. As a senior, I belong to the Cyclonauts, ride 4-5 days a week. Well again, thanks JP , for introducing Si to New England, hope he returns. KB.
Welcome, Jeremy. As a fellow New Englander, I am very pleased to see our piece of the world highlighted on GCN. Admittedly, it's not the Alps or the Pyrenees but has its own charm. I've been riding the roads and passes throughout the White Mountains in preparation for the Haute Route Pyrenees this August and count myself lucky to have this beautiful and challenging area right outside my door.
Just finished this route, amazing! That climb right out of Shelburne Falls killed me. But it was worth it. Definitely doing this again. I’ve cycled the first third of this along the Green River a bunch of times but never continued further west into Colrain. Thanks for putting this together! Mesa Verde burrito back in Greenfield was the perfect ending! Great day today
Seriously amazing ride!! but on another note Why would 40 people not like this video? Jealous? Trolls? Sad.. Another great video and bucket list visit. Thanks
i feel a little bit cheated that i can't give this a double thumbs up - so i've broken cover and added a comment instead - bloody brilliant / lovely video Si+Jeremy - thank you
We're doing those roads on 23rd of June Billy Mitchell's grandfather kept his mail box inside the covered bridge in Green Village, as did all of the residents in the 1940s. Jacksonville Stagecoach Rd is a Cat 3 climb Why not do the full D2R2? It utilizes the same roads.
Cracking ride, thanks JPow! Si is like Jeremy's uncool cousin who visits the States, tries to act and sound cool but fails, like all us English people do. But still got a lot of love for you Si! 😂
Excellent video! Really captures the essence of riding in New England. Don't need to call it "gravel riding". This represents touring anywhere In New England or The Adirondack Mtns or the Finger Lakes of New York. Good job!
I love when you guys film the epic rides.. it looks like such an adventure. I always imagine myself taking it with you. I’ve been looking for a riding mate for two years and no luck.. everyone over here in canada is too lazy and unadventurous.
The part where you swam reminds me of when my father sister and I would go swimming in the 34° F northern Saco river after long rides in the white mountains. Nice job showing Simon the works, Jeremy
Had no idea that Jeremy was a fellow Masshole! So glad to see Massachusetts and New England getting some good cycling air time. Warmed my heart. Hope Si enjoyed the Dunks experience!
Gaimon and Pearce (Vegan Cyclist) have the West coast pretty well covered. Except, less for gravel and more for road. Show us the B-roads, fire roads, and undiscovered places.
the usa is so damn huge. It's crazy how many different climates and zones there are. Riding bikes through the countryside anywhere can truly be the best way to see things.
Powers has so much to bring to the table. Awesome signing. Hopefully he can do some work on GMBN, too, like that video he did with Blake. Good work GCN! I'm excited to see JP's contributions.
This makes me super happy. I live in Northern CT (5 minutes from the MA border) and after 30 years, trying to get back in to cycling. Looking forward to learning about some local terrain!
Are you a fan of root beer? Does this resemble the type of gravel riding you do? 🇺🇸
I'm in Kansas so we have plenty of gravel, hills, and good pubs, but we are severely lacking in the lush forest department.
Root beer - isn't that what we in the UK call Domestos??!!
Love a good root beer. Actually just had one (at a draft house where my cycling buddies were drinking beers) during a 76 mile ride on Friday.
Nope 😁
Root beer rules👍
I’d love to see how your film crew works. A behind the scenes of the GNC film crew would be awesome
LOZUPONEJ seriously these guys are wizards
same! cameras everywhere at the right moments.
Yes please, behind the scenes would be excellent
I agree. Stellar film crew indeed
Great idea, give the behind the scenes guys some love.
Maybe even Lasty...
"no it's not I actually drive a Prius, I borrowed it" had me in stitches. Really looking forward to more content with Jeremy!
That opening 30 seconds has instantly made this one of my favourite GCN videos
Here here, gents.
Powers is cool. Racing cred. Dad jokes. The whole package. LOL.
Jesse Haaksman lol me too
He better not knock dunkin donuts again, or waste those donuts!
Remains my favourite GCN video.
Yes! Adding Jeremy to the team was an incredible signing - so excited for more content. Oooooooow
So are we, cheers Zach!
If anyone has lost motivation to go out on a ride, they just need to watch some these videos. Top lads and fantastic content!
Cheers Lino 😉
Exactly
Having lived in Boston quite a long time I laughed out loud at seeing Si in DD
I had to laugh, too. My wife's originally from the North Shore. I know about the DD love up there! 🤣
Brilliant video guys. Look forward to seeing more of Jeremy's rides....he seems like such a nice guy.
Except for when he knocked the dunkin donuts.
Love seeing this USA content! Beautifully shot, very entertaining
Woohoo, cheers Sean
JP showing up in a Ford pickup and cowboy hat by itself is worth 10 thumbs up. Great video!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
JP ... You forgot your gun
Can't wait for more
Of course a ride in New England starts at a Dunkin Donuts!
Pretty much every ride in the northeast starts with d&d lol
Ya not locally sourced organic rubbish coffee with almond milk you would have been beaten up for that crap in my Boston neighborhood 😂🤪💪🏼
Mmmm.,... donuts.
Rhode Islander here, all my rides start at a dunkin lol
@@LaughingSaint66 Laughing at the idea of locally sourced coffee in Massachusetts. Use your head!
Pausing after the borrowed truck intro - I just LOVE Jeremy Powers! Bestest hiring ever and together with Si just beyond awesome!
Cheers bud, we're stoked on it too!
For the first time watching a GCN video, I get to say "I've been there!" So happy Jeremy has joined the team. Looking forward to more rides in Western Mass and Vermont
One of the best GCN videos so far. Beautiful and inspiring scenery. Looking forward to more of Jeremy's content. Great work, guys. 👍
GCN in my backyard! Great riding all over western Mass.
I'm moving out to Greenfield in the next few months. Lets grab some rides!
Great to see J Pow in a GCN kit. Awesome that you guys brought him to the channel.
That was a tremendous video. I'm so glad that Jeremy is part of the GCN team now. The two of you are the coolest guys ever!
Si/Jeremy, if you get the chance you should come to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. You can do a ride here and hit all of our 29 covered bridges within the county.
@matthew Do you have a route for that ride? I’d love to do it!
This video has one big flaw ... It's not 1h long. Seriously, it absolutely amazing video. More of this stuff please. Cheers.
Aww cheeers!
Yes, their Patagonia video especially was very disappointingly short.
We have a longer one coming for you very soon...
@@gcn you guys remembered this comment from a year ago? Damn.
Saw this video at 9 o'Clock in the evening.
Had to go for a ride right away.
The atmosphere in this video got me hooked.
Thanks.
Woohoo, great news!
Love to see some more stuff from the USA. I mean, I'm from California and one of the reasons I watch GCN is because I love the British sense of humor and stuff, but this was gold! Please keep it up!
Jeremy is awesome! Such an infectious personality! Great addition to the team and I can't wait to see further videos!
So true !!
5:28 - If Si presents audiobooks, I'd listen!
Zeph Ng
For real! 👍
Another quality delivery from GCN. Enjoyed seeing Simon living his best life.
I’m a power lifter with no interest in riding a bicycle but still watch these videos cus they are just so well done and entertaining
"It's me man! In an American truck. a Ford! 450 stallions under the hood.." 😂
Si and Jeremy are fantastic together. I realize that geography poses a bit of an issue, but I would like to see more from this pair. Both of their ride videos are really spectacular and maybe this could be an idea for a series.

Considering Si was trying Dunkin donuts, when you come to Canada, you have to compare with Tim hortons!
I miss those epic rides in GCN. Probably the best videos of all. Hope for more of those after the pandemic
J-Pow is so cool, loved him on the GCN Cyclo-Cross coverage and doing these epic ride video's, enjoyed this one immensely.
Thanks Edwin, plenty more where this came from?
a few weeks back I did the GFNY and was staggered that only 50 miles from the middle of manhattan you can stand on bear mountain Tain and just see rolling hills forests and lovely countryside have to admit my preconceptions about the Staes took a big hit that day
Wouldn’t Oliver Bridgewood have been better doing this one...you know because of all the wooden bridges....
you just won caption of the week! The empty bottle of Sam Adams is on its way!
haha
And with his American accent he would fit right in.
Friends and I did this ride this past weekend....It was absolutely terrific! Thanks Jeremy for mapping it out and posting it. We plan on doing it again in the fall when the area is in full color of the fall. Thanks again!
Awesome, nice one Gary!
Jeremy is a natural presenter. Glad he's joining the team!
Great video, Si showing how very British he is by lying about the cider just be polite 🤣.
Better than west country cider 🤣 I have heard it all now
We don't export the good stuff.
I watched this after back from work, and done some bike maintenance. My body quite tired, but it is paid after watching this. It is so relaxing. I am ready to sleep now...
Fantastic! Old England meets New England.
Jeremy is Amazing and he has super charismatic personality !! Great addition to GNC channel !!
What a beautiful part of the world

So weird hearing someone on GCN without a British accent! Nice to see Sigh had a nice time on our side of the pond.

Proper film making lads. Genuinely entertaining.
Yay JPow finally an amazing American presenter
I love J Pow! Thanks for adding him to the team.

Hi! I've been wanting to do it but I only have a road bike. Is it doable with a road bike or do you absolutely need a gravel bike? Thankd!
What a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing this amazing experience!
Love the friendly atmosphere on these videos. It looks like two nations are one. Great job and great inspiration as well. Thanks, guys!
The production quality of GCN continues to climb.... this one climbed a hors catégorie!
Frazer Goodwin definitely raised the production values but I think it came at the cost of feeling overly scripted and unspontaneous
Cute, goodspirited comment 👍
Seriously amazing ride!! but on another note Why would 40 people not like this video? Jealous? Trolls? Sad..
Another great video and bucket list visit. Thanks
J-Pow is awesome! He brings such joy and positivity. Great addition to GCN and fantastic video!
Thanks for doing something close to home, look forward to this ride!
Fantastic video guys. Jeremy is a great addition to the show. He is as mad as a box of frogs but brilliant all the same.
i feel a little bit cheated that i can't give this a double thumbs up - so i've broken cover and added a comment instead - bloody brilliant / lovely video Si+Jeremy - thank you
Bless, thanks Matthew!
Yup, this is the everyday American gravel ride. This what I love about living and riding in rural America. 😍😍
Great video. Loved it and kudos on the terrific production
We're doing those roads on 23rd of June
Billy Mitchell's grandfather kept his mail box inside the covered bridge in Green Village, as did all of the residents in the 1940s.
Jacksonville Stagecoach Rd is a Cat 3 climb

Brilliant video once again. Love cycling in MA. You should see it in the Fall, even better...
Jeremy Powers is fantastic! What a brilliant addition to the team. Look forward to more American rides. Also Root Beer is the best :)
Terrific video. Jeremy is a great addition to the GCN Team/Family!
Cracking ride, thanks JPow! Si is like Jeremy's uncool cousin who visits the States, tries to act and sound cool but fails, like all us English people do. But still got a lot of love for you Si! 😂
I wish I was paying better attention and knew Si was nearby. Looking forward to seeing more of Jeremy.
Really appreciate this channel. Thanks!
Thanks for the love!
Even if I didn't love cycling, I'd love the GCN travelogue videos...
England meets New England. Jeremy is super fun and cannot wait for some more of his features. Great addition to GCN!
Wow, what a ride through that scenery
That was just awesome! Very inspiring. Thanks!
Excellent video! Really captures the essence of riding in New England. Don't need to call it "gravel riding". This represents touring anywhere In New England or The Adirondack Mtns or the Finger Lakes of New York. Good job!
This is my favourite type of videos on GCN. Every one of them motivates me to go out on the road :D
I love when you guys film the epic rides.. it looks like such an adventure. I always imagine myself taking it with you. I’ve been looking for a riding mate for two years and no luck.. everyone over here in canada is too lazy and unadventurous.
Being from the area, seeing this is such a trip. Very cool. Shoutout to NCC!
It was so nice to hear Jeremy saying thank you for people who stepped out of the way. Nice to see people still have manners
This is Brilliance
The part where you swam reminds me of when my father sister and I would go swimming in the 34° F northern Saco river after long rides in the white mountains. Nice job showing Simon the works, Jeremy
Great film, what an amazing day with great company and beautiful surroundings. And top new addition to GCN 👍👍👍
Thanks Colin, we're really excited to have JPows on board!
Paul “Jeremy” Revere’s Ride. The British are coming!
awesome. amazing bike rides are everywhere!
Had no idea that Jeremy was a fellow Masshole! So glad to see Massachusetts and New England getting some good cycling air time. Warmed my heart. Hope Si enjoyed the Dunks experience!
Thanks for the reminder to ride for fun once in a while.
Great piece, your content is getting better and better.
Next up Lake Tahoe. Maby Mt Diablo?
The west coast disserve a little consideration.
Gaimon and Pearce (Vegan Cyclist) have the West coast pretty well covered. Except, less for gravel and more for road. Show us the B-roads, fire roads, and undiscovered places.

Thx GCN. You guys touch the soul =)
Fantastic, it's on my bucket list.
Great video!! Just added this to my bucket list. Thank you GCN!
Blinded by the Si,
Stripped down like a goose
With no feathers what a fright
This makes me super happy. I live in Northern CT (5 minutes from the MA border) and after 30 years, trying to get back in to cycling. Looking forward to learning about some local terrain!
Totally cool you guys ventured out into our own little western Massachusetts towns! Been watching you guys and gmbn for over a year now!!
This is my fave GCN vid. I really want to go see these places for myself.
You guys need to visit all parts of USA...different areas are so drastically different!
What a great ride! And what a great addition JP will be for GCN.
