Nice video as always!! Really like it too see these exotic airlines being reviewed 🙂 keep up the good work mate
Thanks a bunch! Appreciate it
I did the same
Air Algerie should stop flying until it gets its act together. Just sounds like this was horrendous experience.
The cabin is so dirty!!!! No excuses for that. Thanks for sharing.
That's a shocker of a flight for business class ... the cleanliness ... can't complain about it, there is NONE ... and that food ... makes Air Koryo looks like haute-cuisine ... safe travels 🥂
YIKES! If I had a parachute, I would have used it 😝😝😝
Love it, yesss!! 🤣🤣
Excellent video. I'm glad that you were not arrested when taking the pictures in the departure hall. That shows that Algeria is evolving.
I haven't flown AH since decades, when it was a correct carrier.
Algeria being a rich country, Air Algérie being a public enterprise, they ought to have more decent airplanes.
It's a matter of governance not money.
New airplanes showing up should hopefully bring new life to the airline as well. It’ll be great to see and I hope to go back and check it out once that happens

The people mover is actually called a mobile lounge. Aside from Dulles, CDG also had such large people movers for a long time, though I don't see them these days in any of the videos on RUclips.
Great video, I'm liking your content. Nice work!
Thanks! That’s interesting, I didn’t know they were at CDG
@@PatrickSheaAviation yep I rode in those a few times at CDG, back in the day. In '02 and '04 if memory serves me correctly. Quite large as well.
Tom Scott did a video about them a few months ago
incredibly informative! appreciate the clear explanations. Thanks' for sharing that's give us a clear idea about the company but i think there is no other alternative carriers that operate that same flight?
Air Canada does actually fly to Algiers as well, so you do have another option. Hopefully when Air Algerie’s new fleet arrives, they’ll be competitive again
Thanks for this objective review & for flying this plane/route so we don't have to.
Thanks!
Algeria .never 😊
Another great review. I love your style and tone. I think when we travel as much as you you do we are sometimes spoilt with the service in premium cabins on some airlines. I too would be disappointed with the first meal it looked dry and bland but the pre arrival meal looked OK ish.. Seat wise being 6ft6 Id have taken its got to be better than economy view for width and legroom but I fully see how you can be disappointed with the cleanliness and shabby old/tired cabin. Have you tried Icelandair's Business class product across the pond? Its Premium Economy Plus id say price wise and service wise with a comfy business class seat, decent lounge in Iceland and free stopover programme on US-Europe Itinenaries
All valid points! I haven’t flown IcelandAir. I was supposed to but then Covid messed with my plans. So it’s still on my list
Excellent video If it right out Frankfurt Germany in Canadian French it's spelled as Francfort sur le Main which is where Air Canada 845 is coming from. Speaking of the air Algérie business class seat old version it is exactly the same as a Cathay Pacific 1990s Long Haul seat and the Regional Business class seats also Korean Air Prestige Class B737-9B5/ER pre retrofitted B777-300 like HL-7573 unless retrofitted to resemble the A321-271N. IFE screen is in your right armrest. I'm wondering which of the Legacy carriers in the United States still use this setup in the domestic fleet.
US CBP Stamp is MTL for Aéroport Pierre Eliot Trudeau provided you went back to California from Montreal via Newark Airport. For Canadians go to Montreal Airport to Florida they would simply drive to the US border Plattsburgh,NY or Burlington, VT that way they can simply pay the domestic price. There are 2-2-2 business class seats are flatbed example of these in California are the Korean Air Airbus A380 services. Also 2-3-2 flat bed seats SFO/LAX PR Mabuhay Class Korean Air Prestige Class B777-3B5/ER sleeper seats.
For me, I recently flew the A330-200 to Algeria from LHR, it was so much better compared to the video and I’ve enjoyed the new variant cabin it was clean and refreshed, food wasn’t cold and the cabin crew were more interactive.
That’s good. I’m hoping to see a total revamp with the new aircraft arriving. I’d hate to see new A350s being neglected in the same way

Hey, very interesting video! Hopefully they start flying their newer wide bodies on this route soon. I would have been upset too flying on the one you were on. Did you need to get a visa to fly to Algeria or did you just transit through Algiers?
I did need a visa for Algeria, but if you transit, then there’s no need. I would think once their new aircraft arrive, that we will see the upgraded product on this route… or at least I hope

I’ve never flown Air New Zealand but their SkyCouch intrigued me. Especially because of how expensive their business class can be
The joys of traveling. Equipment swapping does happen, and it either elevates your experience or forces you to throttle back on your expectations. Ultimately, comfort (discomfort), good (bad), superior (inferior), etc, are relative to the individual and a matter of definition - most notably when there is no choice in the matter.
Those headphones are actually used for the “music” channels. I remember AVIANCA’s 767s in the 90s using this system. They even play movies on the bulkhead TVs! 😂
Totally. Although the music and live ATC channels weren’t working on the seat controls
Sad to see that most of flight reviews from North African airlines end up with so many negative points, especially about the lack of cleaning and cabin maintenance.
It’s the unfortunate truth at this point. I do hope the management can start to take some pride in their airlines with new airplanes and airports coming so that they can start a new chapter, as they have the culture and location to really offer a wonderful product

Excellent coverage. I never flew with Air Algérie business class nor have I ever been on such a long flight, but I'm actually quite surprised that besides the seat size, there is pretty much no difference between Air Algérie business class and economy. I'm pretty sure even the meal is the same.
How much did you pay for this ticket?
Good notes! This flight was around $800
I only managed to watch 9 minutes of the video so far, YIKES! This was rough. No IFE for a 12 hour flight. I'm shocked, don't know why anyone would book to go on this. Thanks for trying it, I'll be sure to avoid.
Great video and beautiful photography from you. I also travel with Air Algerie. It is amazing ✈️
I recently flew Air Algerie's new 737-800 from Moscow to Algiers, the cabin is freshely new and its not dirty, seats are slightely enjoyable and the food is... Very delicious. It doesn't matter. If the horrible crew members don't get fired, Air Algérie will sadly remain trash. Today aug 4 I took the same flight and the crew was awful, just 3 crew members were working, the pilot was insulting passengers. I still hope one day this company at least gets better.

Nice footage! It's my first time running into your channel. Your video could really benefit form a higher quality microphone for the voice-over; there's quite a bit of echo. A simple, dynamic USB mic could be a great solution for you! Or you could record in an environment with more soft surfaces.

As an Algerian traveler , I’m using Air Algérie most of the time .. and I can relate to your video and experience, but I can truly say that it’s dépends, sometimes you have also flight with planes much much cleaner and with plate much tasty . You had a pretty tough experience I can see, but trust me air Algérie worth better than that …
I definitely want to return once they have their new fleet and see how they renovate their brand. They could definitely do something special with it
Never fly with air algerie!!!
Adding to that. also they use the new retrofitted aircraft to doha , dubai.
all the aircraft of Air Algerie are dirty.
If you need to be in the newer business class you should take abother route, like Algiers-Doha or Algiers-Dubai Algiers-Beijing, they use it more frequently in these routes
I do want to come back and try the new product, although I am a little confused as to why they don’t use it on Montreal, one of their longer flights
@@PatrickSheaAviation maybe for the density, they need more number of seats 💺, or just forgot to set it properly due to late execution or unrevised policies, I mean it's common for our country to set slow solutions or cover plenty of problems 😔😕, anyways whenever you feel like you can try it, I'll be waiting to see the review 😁😉
@@PatrickSheaAviation I have to say the cabins are also dirty and have little leg room when extended and small storage boxes, but the overall is much better than what you've been into, and the crew service and food quality adds more to the equation ofc ❤️
Could you please précise that Air Algérie has three new cabines in their A330 being the 7T-VJA / 7T-VJB / 7T-VJC, which are no longer being deployed for montreal- Algiers. Please look at the cabines of these 3 aircraft registration. Also Air Algerie has ordered new air craft that should come in a few year.
Yes, I did mention that in the video. I am excited to get out there and try the new aircraft once they arrive
Terrible configuration for business class. Thanks Patrick for your nice, simple and understandable video
Thank you! Now I’m waiting for their renovated business class to start showing up so we can see if they really do take this opportunity to improve themselves
have you previously taken air canada for the same destination.
recently the air canada flight left 23 hours late, because the pilot had missed a connecting flight to reach algiers, and once airborne, the in-flight cathering service as well as the menu were deplorable
compared to what air algerie offers
That sounds horrible! But it is understandable as it’s not the easiest airport to get to, comparatively to other airports nearby
At least when you fly Air Canada you get acceptable service, clean cabin and good entertainment. I hope one day Air Algérie will stop being so terrible.
Hi Patrick what a disappointing and frustrating conditions you gone thru your Air Algerie long haul flight. I'm Algerian and never jump on Air Algerie flights when heading overseas coz deeply in my mind and in prior I know what disappointments I definitively will face if not aircraft interior conditions it will be flight attendents attitude and arrogance and food quality service. Air Algerie allows these disappointing situations with firm intention to strenghthen and root frustration into passengers bodies and minds. All Algerians are well familiar and hitorically experienced with Air Algerie service quality turbulances. Good luck.
That’s unfortunate. I would love to come back and try their new airplanes when they arrive in a year or two since I did enjoy my time in Algiers
The crew is definitely the worse in this trash airline
Hey! What’s the name of the app you use to track your localisation ? Thanks
I use ForeFlight for that. I use it for work so I have the paid subscription to it. But it does come in handy at times on airline flights
As soon as Emirates started flying to Algiers from Dubai, my family and I directly started going on it since air algeire was bad
What is the device you were using to determine your position?
I use ForeFlight for my job flying at home, and it was able to help me with my position for parts of this flight
And, just like that, Ethiopian economy from Buenos Aires looks like a lavish excursion. The state of that cabin!! The mere fact that you ate what they served you in there... Sadly, I experience flights like this regularly travelling through Africa, India and China. And, however long these flights are, I usually keep my hands firmly in my pockets let alone have a meal.
Having said that, your trainers have seen better days.

Yeah i think people forget their experience with the same company gonna defer. Depending of did you get the old still fuctionning gear or new gear/renovated gear
Depending if you got good employees who take their work seriously. Or the bad employees who dont care about their job quality etc

Air Algérie ordered many brand new A350-1000 and A330neo aircrafts to renew its long haul flights fleet and also 737-9 max for short flights , so we expect much better in the future for sure…however they should have definitely refurbished the current fleet in the meantime, I mean it’s still operating!!!

I had to give them a fair shot at least 🤷♂️😂
Wow! I bet there's worse. Relax
This is what happens where people working in those planes (and for the company as a whole) are hired based on accountaince and not on skills and competence.
That is exactly the problem. Air Algerie jobs are among the most demanded and they go for connected people with no skills. Not only they have no skills, they also feel protected and can't be disciplined. Same issue for all big government owned companies, and that is why they run a deficit almost all the time.
You should try the Air Algérie a330 to dubai or doha route they use the new a330 not the old ones

I have flown them economy class and it was wonderful. Still haven’t tried their business class however
Nice video and fair judgement
As someone who works inflight catering (and an avid aviation fan who loves air travel), I guess I can safely say that the plane isn't as sanitised as it could have been 🥲 And as for the meal service, the tray set-up and main course didn't really look as pleasing as I expected for a business class flight. Awesome video, nevertheless. :)
Thanks man. Glad to hear the input. The plane and food definitely had a strange smell…
Im getting OCD just from looking at the seat. But great review regardless !!!!!!
Thanks! And totally… the seat is driving me crazy every time I see it
You might want to do next a review of Royal Air Maroc. Just to do a comparison between the three North African Airlines .
That one is definitely on my list. I’ve only ever tried their economy class, but it was wonderful
This was an extremely informative video , the plane was in a deplorable, unsanitary, and in extreme disrepair.
The worst parts for me were the following:
1. The absolute filth , the tray table & where it was housed, the stench of said tray table. The floor that was home to the cockroach. The bugs in between the glass of the window. Which for me , calls in question, the ability of the cabin to remain pressurized ( correct me if I’m wrong) .
2. The worn & disrepair of the cabin. The lack of air vents , overheating in the seat ( on such a long flight) , The broken foot rest, and tray.
3. The inattentive nature of the cabin crew, were they too busy relaxing to attend to the passengers? The lack of communication by the pilot & crew.
4. The food was very disappointing, and unappetizing. Did you later get food poisoning?
Overall, I would definitely avoid that flight, possibly the airline. Given the fact, that the crew was so inattentive, and prioritized socializing with each other ( on your Montreal flight back to Algiers ) . New equipment won’t correct that.
Great video, very informative, I look forward to your next flight video.
1. Air Algerie's planes are always so dirty and It's clear that this is the worst point for Air Algerie. Even though they are less dirty in newer cabin, they remain disgusting.
3. Cabin crew with Air Algérie are usually unconsistent. Sometime you find an amazing crew that just make the flight look amazing, other time you find horrible person that just should not be working with human being.
4. Even if the food don't look great in this specific flight, it is usually one of the great thing for Air Algérie. Moreover, no matter what, the food is always clean and don't forget that Air Algerie catering also make the food for Emirates or Qatar, so they have potential.
The government of Algeria is saying that they want to improve quickly the airline, which they haven't started yet in the service. However, the pre-pandemic economy with Air Algerie was great and Business class was bad and that is because it used to be a family company.
These are all great points! Luckily no food poisoning for me. Now we stay waiting for the new aircraft and see if things get better 🤞
I am an algerien and it so true what u said , unfortnntly we all experienced this bad experience with air algerie 😞
Well I do hope the new aircraft will bring new life to the airline and I can’t wait to get back out to Algeria and try it out
quel cauchemar! (what a nightmare) such a gross n sketchy experience (the 'eau de vomit' tray table was def revolting, never mind the overall ambience of uncleanliness), so sad that this older model is what they've assigned for flights to YUL, at least you caught a nice view of MTL on descent (lightning n all) altho deplaning seemed like a royal headache. kudos for persevering thru that, you certainly won't catch me flying with them
Here’s to hoping the new fleet is way better 🤞🤞
After he said a roach ran across his feet I screamed 😂 thats absolutely disgusting. They need to use their updated 330 for that route....false advertising
The worse is that they always make videos and pictures of nice crew members but once you get onboard you get surprised by how mean and unprofessional Air Algérie crew members are.

Good to know. Exciting!
@@PatrickSheaAviation yeah 😅
It is the 737-600 which is a NG.
Ouch! This would seriously stress me out! Always check Seatguru for cabin configs and avoid surprises!
Oh I always do… unfortunately this one’s not on there
Hello, do you mind share the App name please ? and if there any equivalent for Android ? thank's
It’s just the ForeFlight app. I use it when I fly for work. I’m not sure about android but it was designed mostly for Apple products
il y'a combien d'heure de vol entre Alger et Montréal ?

I Flough over 60 airlines and have to say that Air Algerie is more decent than most EU companies except big ones (klm lufthansa)...and most importantly I experienced the best landings with Air Algerie
Well then maybe something was off on this flight, but I’d choose the EU airlines over this flight. I am curious about Air Algerie’s new product so I can see how that compares at least
How the airline is not embarassed to sell this product as business class is beyond belief... I have no words... This would also be honestly a horrible economy class service, let alone business... woow, speachless
Yea… it’s tough. Their new fleet can’t come soon enougg
Can you try Air Canada Montréal Algiers??? Plsss
I definitely want to try Air Canada’s long haul service, although I haven’t chosen an exact route yet
What a torture, I am sorry for your experience.
bro there is no torture 😂
North African airlines just cannot compete with more innovative carriers such as Qatar or Turkish Airlines more committed to higher standards.
That’s very true, but that’s also not their market. They work more on point-to-point travelers. People will fly with them for the direct flight options at least
Crikey! That's a Business class meal? I dread to think what was served in Economy 😨
Hi men, I can understand your point of view, I'm french but each time I go there to visit my family I regret paying 3/4 of a Paris-Tokyo flight for just 2 hours and a horrible service...
You'r not the only one complaining about this company, every Algerian or people who went there hate it !
Not very accurate though cuz I did fly with air france from UK to algeria and was horrible. So it's depends on the plan condition that u flying with at the time
But you're not french , you're Algerian freeloader
@@mikeflyer2059 De toute façon, il a remarqué par lui-même que cette compagnie est désastreuse, principalement en raison de ses équipages.

What's that yellow plane?
ASL airline france
Safe to say there are room for improvement here, but bear in mind that this is a tier world country, created only 60 years ago. They will learn and get better ❤ you can’t compare that experience to big country carrier as Algerian standard are way lower than ours. Good video !
I want to add that unlike its neighbors (Morocco and Tunisia) there is almost zero tourism in Algeria, in comparison.
Well said! I do believe that compared to other countries on their level, they are still below average, but at least they have new airplanes on the way… so the best is yet to come
there is a video about Air Senegal on this channel, it's interesting to watch it to see the difference.

Same shit different continent
superb mister
Thanks!!
Patrick, I believe these two "main" meal services are very poor. Someone flying on Business and paying full fare on this airline should sue them!
I do agree. They have a lot of improvements to be made in all corners of their products
I traveled with Algeria Airlines twice, the flight was fine and the food was good and delicious, but unfortunately the plane was old and dirty, and the behavior of the flight attendant was bad.
OK as in American Algerian here I cannot tell you how much Algeria pisses me off I flew in Algeria one time and I probably want to go back ever again they are just bad but hopefully with the new airplanes they will be better. I’m willing to give them another chance in the future, I prefer to fly Delta with a stopover in Paris, I definitely understand your frustration and I thank you for making this video to bring awareness to the problem
I’m Algerian-Canadian. Whenever I book a flight on Google Flights, the first filter I set is “exclude: Air Canada; Air Algérie” 😂😂
Although…. I may even choose Air Canada if I flew this route again 😬
@@PatrickSheaAviation for sure, Air Canada>Air Algérie, all day any day
How much did you pay for this flight ?
This flight runs for about $1000 USD
@@PatrickSheaAviation I am sorry that you had a bad experience, I’m Algerian and I never fly with AA on long distance. But seriously when you pay $1000 for business class from Algiers to Montreal you would expect this service. Also I don’t know if you mentioned the price in the video but it would make sense to add it. I don’t excuse the quality of the service of AA, I think it was terrible 🙃
@@samabd3665 it’s always great to hear from locals on these videos. That’s all good and true. I do look forward to trying out their new aircraft once those do arrive. Algeria’s location and culture puts it in a great spot to make a great airline, it just needs some work and desire from management
@@samabd3665 Everything is terrible in Algeria since 1962, every body knows this !
Dirtiness is a culture in Algeria that's why i'm not shocked by seeing this plane so dirty !
@@anthonydelcoure1264 your comment is terrible because Algeria is one of the best countries to visit. 1962 is our year of independance. We prefer to live in a country that is dirty than having the nasty French people enslaving our people… are you French ?? From your comment we know how dirty your are inside and out.
hii may i suggest paying attention to the volume of music compared to the speaking , and a better mic would totally help too , thanks .
