Nice review, definitely agree, Maomao is one of the best MCs in recent memory. I also found it impressive how well the show was able to connect even the seemingly one off episodes to not just the overarching story, but also the themes throughout. It made these less consequential episodes more engaging to watch after noticing that the show tends to do that, and it made them better in retrospect.
