That Ryan’s Hope preview was interesting. I loved Kim Harris and I liked the Kirkland family. So I didn’t get the fan anger about their storyline. But RH was the last soap I started watching. So I knew very little about the Ryan family itself. I got to watch the show on Soapnet from the beginning and Holy-you-know-what! I got why fans were mad about the Kirkland’s being on more than the Ryan’s. And of course, Delia was my favorite character back then.

Nora is a really good villain. She helped to keep this storyline interesting. I liked the background music that was playing while Nicole and the doctor were on the phone. This phone book story isn't doing anything for me. I didn't find it interesting in 1982 or now. I do wonder how much advance notice Henry Slesar was given that his contract with the show was going to end.
Henry Slesar was given his 15th anniversary party the second week of April 1983 and fired 3 days later. He was told not to create any further stories. I agree the Phone book story took forever to get going and when it finally did, it still never got out of the gate. The story started in September. And here it is already in December now 4 months later and we are still talkinga about that stupid list of agents and will be for the next 5 months!!!

Raven is right about Valerie Bryson. Valerie is so anoying. I was really happy with how the character was written out. April Scott, Deborah Saxon and Jody Travis, have substance to them. Valerie just has none. This not about Leah Ayres. She was great as an actress, it's just that the way the character panned out was disappointing.
Henry Slesar just ran out of steam and ideas at the end. The Nora Fulton murder was brilliant. But the phonebook storyline just never took off. It started in September with the intriguing idea of a list of agents with their cover identities blown. Here it is now four months later and we’re still talking about this mysterious list of agents and nothing has moved in the storyline. And we’re gonna continue to talk about this list of agents for another five more months.
Valerie never seemed to have much of a story. At one point she was part of the Kelly-Valerie-Jim triangle, then a Sky-Valerie-Jim triangle, and now a fifth wheel in the Sky-Raven-Ian triangle. I found Buffy to be more interesting than Valerie, but I don't blame the actress (Leah Ayres) at all. I liked the actress.

Yes unfortunately I don't believe Soapnet repteated anything of RH past 1981 so these have never been seen before.
Soapnet didn't go past 1981. Ilene Kristen I consider as my sister and a friend of mine for over 35+ years. Wasn't a fan of Kim or Kelli

I like Leah, and it's so funny when I originally watched it I liked Valerie. But rewatch in 2015; I found Valerie a bore
