Awesome, so very happy you liked it and it helped. Sorry I did not reply soon, RUclips is horrible at delivering notifications.
You go into safe mode the long way. The easy way: (keyboard) hold down the Windows Key, and "R" at the same time (this activates the "run" prompt). Type in "msconfig", click "ok" (everything will be apparent from here). Select "boot" tab", select "safe boot" and "apply". Select "restart now". Repeat to exit safe mode.
Same difference, larger prompts this way and less to remember for my viewers, I want to keep it easy for everyone
I found the video incredible, congratulations, since it was the only part where I found a guide to change the drivers from my Ryzen 5 2400g to my new graphics, an Rx 5600 xt. I thank you for the detail with which you make the videos a huge balance from Colombia

thank you so much for this guide. Just ordered this exact gpu on amazon it was on sale 30 dollars off the original price. I'm assuming the driver issues with AMD are okay now seeing that your install went smoothly.
Well, people are still having issues, but make sure you are on the 2004 version of windows which just came out, that fixes a lot and follow this guide to help you remove the older drivers: ruclips.net/video/Qh2xEUXWeqs/видео.html. if you have issues just let me know and thank you so much for your kind words, they mean the world to me.
Nice clean, easy to follow tutorial. But I couldn't help noticing you have your AIO rad installed upside down, hoses should be at the bottom as to not choke the pump or cause bubbles or loud mechanical noises over time. Other than that I love the build look
It's not upside down, stop echoing Steve's video, if you need to echo someone's video, go over to jays2cets and watch his video where he debunks Steve's. Steve made 3 long videos about it, and many people didn't watch them all so I have gotten many comments like this. This is not wrong, plus because of the memory I could not install it the way I wanted and also, the tubes are too short and if you watched the video you would see it was impossible aside from the length, to get the tubes at the bottom.
Hey I’m pretty new to computer building, currently building my first one right now and I have this exact graphics card. I was wondering what the point of all the software you had us install was for? Was it just to ensure the graphics card works & efficiently get all the benefits? Thank you!
Being new, then this is the perfect site for you, I am here to help. So DDU, one of the pieces of software which extracts itself (doesn't install) is to clear your PC of older drivers which often times cause issues, especially on older machines where tons and tons of software has been install/uninstalled, etc.
After I had you strip the system of older drivers, I had you install the latest AMD driver which allows you to get the full performance from your card. You get the full performance from it, because there are not older drives which may not overwrite when the newer drivers install which could mean you have tons of older drivers which newer drivers trying to access features not built into those older drivers, causing blue/black screens or worse.
I had you do it carefully as to not strip your amd chipset drivers, if you had an AMD chipset on your motherboard. AS a new builder, you may want to check out this video as well, it might help you fill some gaps you may have missed. ruclips.net/video/8JuC_Dpm6-c/видео.html
Thank you for the video! I am build up a new desk top. I found the GPU fan is not working after connecting all the necessary wires. The CPU fan and the motherboard fan are both working fine. The monitor cable is connected to the GPU's HDMI port. The monitor has no signal when the desktop is powered on. How to install the 5600XT for a new laptop?
You are so very welcome my friend, very happy you liked it. So the fans should not turn on till it hits about 60°C.
Wait..... how to install this for a laptop?
@@ThisBytesForYou my apology, it's a desktop. It turned out that the motherboard I purchased was defective. Thank you for your kind answer!
@@KamilaValieva-fan ahhhh ok, I was incredibly confused, haha, so very happy to help you my friend, please let me know if you need any additional assistance, always there for you.
Hi I know this is an old video, but before inserting the GPU do you have to do the ddu process or can you just use the and reset?
You could do it both ways, and no mater how old a video is, I always respond.... unless youtube does not deliver the message to me, which does happen often
man i really need your help, i bought a new Powercolor Radeon RX 5600 XT Red Devil 6GB OC and i just don't know how to install the dirvers, before i had an intel graphics card HD graphics so i switched the old and put the new radeon gpu but when i want to install the drivers for it it's shows me an error 173 and says that it can't detect my grahpics card, please help !!
did you watch this video?
I currently have a td 580 and have the latest Radeon software, I just got the sapphire 5600xt and I was wondering if you need to uninstall the old drivers even though they look the same?
normally I would say yes, remove it but with the current software issues AMD is running into, I would say to leave it and let it auto detect.
did you get any problems with this card, and if so is it a small ammount of people that gets driver problems? I really want to make the most out of my money but do not want an unreliable drivers :)
so I did run into the issue, but this video will help you resolve them, sadly many are having the issue, but most are resolvable by the video and you need to make sure you have the latest HDMI 2.0b cable or the latest DP 2.0 cable: ruclips.net/video/Qh2xEUXWeqs/видео.html
It tells me to restart after the drivers say finish download I restarted and it isn’t coming up to finish the download??
start the install again, and is it windows tell you to restart or the amd drivers?
Dosent the Gpu get in touch with the 4 black cubes on the right side of your motherboard (Where u plug in your ssd's)?
Nope, fit's perfectly fine.
how many degrees does it play? and have you had any problems with the drivers of 20.4.2?
1 of your 2 questions was answered in this video, you might want to check it out. As for temps, thats coming soon.
When I tried installing the drivers I got an error saying there is no amd software found.. error 173
Have you tried the steps I mentioned in this video, maybe this video will help you more: ruclips.net/video/Qh2xEUXWeqs/видео.html
I get to 9:53 where it is installing and everything seems to be fine before it crashes and my screen goes black. Ran DDU in safe mode, took out old card and put in my new gigabyte 5600xt. It powers up and everything but it can’t make it past installing the drivers for it.
2 tests, when the monitor goes blank, what happens if you press control+alt+del, does your screen show the task manager, if not, turn off your monitor, then turn it back on, do you get anything? I have noticed this yesterday, that fixed it for me. If not, let me know, there are a few other things we can go over.
ThisBytesForYou Thanks for this but it was too frustrating so I just exchanged the damn card for a 2060 instead. Was definitely worth it too, because I didn’t go through any trouble with nvidia drivers.
anytime my friend, sorry I did not respond sooner, youtube is horrible at notifications, i have nearly 400 videos and I have to manually check each video for comments I may have missed that youtube didn't tell me about. Happy i could help a little, but how are you liking the 2060 and which one did you get?
It doesn't let me complete the last download that let's me factory reset do you know why that'd be?
download DDU, download the latest driver, boot into safe mode, run DDU like I show you, then restart the computer and reinstall.
What if theres no display when everything is connected and fans are on? Tried with different motherboard, tested motherboard with another gpu.

Could you load the 14 gbps BIOS file, the fastest and quietest BIOS for those with the 12 gbps model? I've already overclocked and it's stable at
14gbps, at the same temperature as the standard watch. If possible, for sure your video will be one of the most accessed in relation to this video card, for those who have the model with the 12 gbps bios
so this is the card with the 14gbps BIOS, so I will test it, overclock and test again, so stay tuned.
Hey, thanks for the video! I decided to get this in the Thicc III version because of you. I'm having a problem though...
I'm new to PC building and I'm trying to install the Thicc III into a computer that someone else set up and the cable to go from PSU to graphics card seems to be missing.
The card has both PCIe 8 and 6 pin connections and there is only 1 spot available on the PSU. Can I just buy something like a "PCIe 6 pin to PCIe dual 8 pin (6+2)"? Will that work? I read somewhere that there need to be two ports going into the PSU for this card, is that true?
Hello my friend, so very happy I could help you in your decision. As for the cable... so that I can help you correctly, can you please let me know the manufacturer and model number of your power supply? And yes, it is true that PCIE connections need to be separate from different threads, it wasn't that way last gen, but as cards require more wattage and amperage, it has become true.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thanks for the reply! I have a "Seasonic FOCUS 550 Gold SSR-550FM 550W" PSU. Wow, so I'll need to disconnect something from my PSU to make space and buy 2 separate cables?
@@kevrywhere so you may be good with what it brings, since it is not a very high powered card, but just in case you could use one of the 8pins from the strand and then buy something like this from my amazon affiliate link, it will turn a SATA power cable into a PCIE cable: geni.us/6bFoBt and always a pleasure my friend
@@ThisBytesForYou OK so just to confirm, I MIGHT be good with the one cable but if that is causing problems I can also grab that cable you linked, right?
Again, thanks a ton for taking the time to help me with this issue. You have earned yourself a loyal viewer here!
Upgrading from a rx 580. Couldn't I just uninstall the AMD software in add and remove option in windows?
Normally I would tell you no, make sure to do this because it makes sure your driver is perfect, but due to the issues going around right now with AMD drivers, I would think it would be best to stick with the driver you have now, then when the card is in and working, upgrade from within the software.
I followed your directions. New card doesnt send signal to monitor, nor does the old one now that I removed nvidia drivers. Asus board has no on board video. AMD is not in on Sat. Any ideas. I've tried a new pci slot. Nothing working.
Not sure how I'd get comments on youtube but I'll check back. Number for text or phone is (847) 455-5542. Name is Phil if you have any idea. Thanks.
Sorry my friend, I will not call you, can you imagine how my day would be if I called the hundreds of people I answer everyday? Verify that your cable is securely attached to your monitor and video card, I know this sounds VERY stupid, but it happened to me. Also, make sure that you have the card seated properly into the PCIE slot, firmly. Then also, if your connecting the card with an HDMI cable, make sure the input on the monitor is set to HDMI, or if its DP, make sure the monitor is set to DP.
Please edit your comment above, remove your phone number, you don't want the internet calling you.
I just bought the xfx rx 5500 xt thicc ll pro 8gb and I was wondering if instead of picking the 5600 graphics on the amd website like you did, and pick the 5500 one would work? I don’t know how exactly to set mine up and I am still waiting for my card to come in so I was trying to learn how to install it
They are the same driver. If you extract the driver set and read the ini, they list a ton of cards. So yeah, you could pick the 5500, 5600, 5700 and older, they would all work. Mind you, even older ones have different drivers, but you get what I mean.
ThisBytesForYou thanks for the help!!

I do a reinstall for reviews everytime, to keep everything perfect and clean, for a regular use, this process would work
Hey so I just watched the video and installed my 5700 xt but after following everything and installing the card in the pc and went to start up the pc but I get no hdmi signal to my monitor from my pc. Any ideas?

Ayoo can someone help me i just bought a better graphics card but it’s the same brand do i have to download anything or should i be good ?
Hello my friend,... have you watch this video, I tell you everything here.
If we didn't have an old card graphic and this radeon rx 5600xt is the first should we do the manipulation in the first?( i have the Gigabyte z390 ud motherboard btw)
If you are using on dye graphics (CPU graphics), yes, remove the AMD, Intel or NVIDIA drivers first, then shutdown. Plug in the new card, connect the monitor to the new card, power your machine on, go into the BIOS, make sure to select the video card or PCIE as the graphics and not the cpu, then boot into windows and install the drivers. I hope I have helped you my friend.
@@ThisBytesForYou thank you ;)
you are so very welcome my friend, I am so very happy I could help you. Please let me know if you have any other questions, always happy to help.
this is my first card so do i just install it onto my motherboard and then install the drivers?
Have you watched the video?
I'm too lazy 2 DDU my updates, I install AMD and nVidia driver updates as they come. DDU can, however, come in handy though if a video driver installation fails or certain features are not working correctly.
thats what its meant for, and I download the latest and greatest too, gotta stay ahead of the curve ;)
When you did the factory reset, does it reset the GPU BIOS as well? I have a sapphire 5600xt and I think it has the most up to date bios and I don't want to mess with the bios that works. I'm currently having an issue where red pixels are streaking across the monitor. Have tested on another monitor and with different cables HDMI, DP and is same issue, which is why i suspect it is the GPU or the driver. I plan to follow your video instructions and see if that helps, but yeah, does it mess with the GPU BIOS? Thank you.
No, it will not change the bios, but If you see the streak on another computer and monitor, it sounds to me like your card has issues, get it rma'ed
I did as you said in the video. Still same issue. What is interesting is that at the lower res it doesn't happen. But at native res of 2560x1440 and 144 hz, the issue happens. As detailed above, not the monitor or cable. So sadly I'll have to follow this up with the online store Umart.com.au who doesn't seem to have a store in my state. Going to be tough to get support during covid times and restrictions. Damn these red and blue artifacts on my new computer and monitor! :(
@@ThisBytesForYou here is a link of what is going on from me: ruclips.net/video/ebHIJPomR34/видео.html
note that I can see the pixels as red or blue, but the video has some grey pixels instead of red/blue... I used Radeon software to capture the video. Does this help me to determine if it is a driver issue or hardware/GPU issue?

yes, that does happen a few times, that's why I show in this video, to make sure it goes all the way, its soooo easy to miss. Great that that you got it my friend.
DO I still need to make the instalation of the BIOS like people say online? Because the card has been out for almost a year and I will buy it next week. You didn't do it here so I don't know if it already comes fixed
What do you mean BIOS installation?
@@ThisBytesForYou I'm not sure what it is but people say that you need to manually instal the GPU bios, I had no idea GPUs had any sort of bios but if you look it up, when this came out people had to do it. I'm assuming now it's fixed
@@Voldemorts.Nipple oh oh oh, I see what you mean, no you don't have to do that. I have linked in the description to where you can get this exact card, which is the 14gbps card. The card that "needs" to be flashed is the 12gbps card.
I put "needs" because you don't need to do it and flashing it, you risk bricking the card because not all 12gbps cards can be flashed to 14gbps.
It's not that it was broken, so it's not really a fix, it's just a way to squeeze extra performance out of the card.
I hope I answered your question.
Helo again😍

I have restarted many times and the same. I have put my old card back in and after a few restarts that will display again as normal. I have checked the connections and all fine. MB: MSI B450 Gaming Plus. PSU: 500W EVGA and Processor is R5 2600X. Any idea what might be causing the issue?
Thanks
so when you say you are not getting any display, do you at least see the BIOS post screen, just not windows? Also, are you connecting the PCIe connection?
@@ThisBytesForYou No display at all (no signal) so I don't even see the BIOS post screen. I have the PCIe power connectors, 8 pin connected to the 5600 card (blue light coming from 5600 card so I presume no issue with power). I have pushed the card into the PCI slot to make sure it is firmly in as I read on the comments here someone said this card sometimes does not sit in the PCI slot fully and that this cause an issue.
so yes, the pcie slot is one thing, but if the machine looks like its booting fine, I think the issue is that the hdmi cable is grounded, make sure that the hdmi cable is fully inserted into the hdmi port on the card and that its not resting on the piece of metal in between each expansion slot, thats happened to me before.
@@ThisBytesForYou I don't think its the HDMI cable. There are no plates in the way of the HDMI cable. Any other ideas?
Its not an issue with drivers, since you can see post. One thing you might want to try is on another system, to see if it works or take your system apart and build it outside of the case. This will tell you if it is not seated properly or the hdmi is not seated properly, might also help if you had another hdmi cable to test with, I get that it works with the 1050, but just give it a try.
As I was trying to instal my RX 5500 XT Thicc II, the two tabs on the end are blocking me from getting the card into the PCI-E slot, where do I put these two tabs? Btw, my case is an NZXT H510.

Great video. Now I install my new Asrock RX 5600 XT. Let me ask you about the fan of power supply. The fan should be positioned down the box or towards the cabinet part. Thanks
Thank you for the compliment my friend. From first hand experience as a product development engineer for Alienware, then later Dell when they bought us and Velocity Micro, the fan should be positioned down towards the desk (always keep your PC off of the ground, and please don't tell me you have it in a cabinet, she needs to breathe). I have done tests on hundreds of machines (it was my job) on airflow, circulation and heat, with the fan facing up, you are robbing the system of precious cool air it needs to run properly, heat rises, cool air sticks to the bottom. Circulation of air of course will not be all cut and dry, since usually (hopefully) there is more air coming in your case that being exhausted (positive airflow). The other thinking on that is as you work on your PC (I like to work on mine standing) things fall, screws, liquid, dust, etc and they will fall into your power supply, and you don't want your power supply to do more work than it has to.
This is why systems should not be on the floor or an enclosed space. There is VERY little to no cool air in an enclosed space, you are recycling warm air throughout your PC. On the floor, you are sucking up dust, dander, hair, maybe even bugs, none of which should be inside of a PC. I hope this helps.

@@ThisBytesForYou last question, is it a problem when i deinstall the driver without safety mode`?
I hope its not the last question, I love helping. Yes it is, but not everyone realizes it and thats why so many have issues. When you uninstall a driver in regular mode, windows is still holding on to the driver, maybe not all of it, but some of it, and not always either. So when you go to install a new driver, you can't overwrite the portion windows is using, so that becomes a potential issue. In safe mode, windows is not using any drivers or software, so when you install it, its gone. A few directories and registry entries might be left behind, because of sloppy code, but DDU gets rid of all of that.
So when you boot back into regular windows, the canvas is clean and clear and a new driver can be installed without any potential issue of older drivers being left behind causing issues and you get to receive the full performance your component can deliver.

it is not, if you watched the video, it tells you why it is the way it is. I have built like this for years, no issues, longer than Steve has been reviewing, and sent to many customers as well, professionally.
@@ThisBytesForYou ah ok, my bad. Just looking out for ya!
no worries my friend. I thank you for it, and I know the issue that he was referring to, however I did make one mistake, I should have slid the AIO lower, still tubes up is fine, but jut slid down. There is a floor that the radiator fits through, that the tubes could not also, because of the memory and heatsinks, I could not place the radiator at the top. Literally thousands of configurations have been sent out like this, not many come back, and if they do, it's usually shipping damage.
I going to save everyting I earn from RUclips for a Monster PC. I got my first Sponsor, so I'll make some money in no time. What Sponsors do you have? Mine is a fitness clothing.
Good and bad I guess, I don't have any sponsors my friend. I don't know what I will do if I am approached with sponsorship because it could potentially negatively impact my honest reviewing, everything I get is either through hard hustle or I buy it. I want to grow large, but I kind of fear what could come from it. I want to make sure no mater what, EVERYTHING I DO is 100% honest, because if I lie, why would you bother to see my content.
When you do end up saving enough for your PC, please let me know. I am an Amazon affiliate, so I could suggest parts for you tied to my affiliation (don't worry, that means I call link up anything on Amazon, no just specific things) and it would help me out. Thanks for stopping by my friend, checking out my video and commenting, it means a ton to me.
@@ThisBytesForYou , thanks! How much money I need for the best PC? I mean with Titan GPU.
Titan is not what you want, you want a 2080TI. Titan is more for workstations, but it can game as well. Let me get back to you later tonight with that info.
@@ThisBytesForYou , I'm planing to make video games in the future, so I need the best.
@@FILIPFIXTIGER nice, well actually, if you look in the description of this video, you might get some nice ideas with my system specs
This is probably the worst designed gpu I have ever seen it was so big it didn't even fit in my pc
Well, you normally have to check the measurements when you order a card and compare it to what you system can handle, that's not their fault. Also, I found the card to perform amazingly. Sorry it did not work out for you.
@@ThisBytesForYou no I mean the actual size of the card it was the same length as my pc
I get that, but they tell you the size of the card, it shouldnt be a suprise
