She was due for a refit before the breakout of WW2, but it never came. When she was worried to stop Bismarck, she had yet to have her refit and still had her relatively weak deck armor. The salvo fired by Bismarck hit her deck and penetrated to her citadel. This ignited an ammunition storage area which made the Hood explode. The other ship that Accompanied Hood, Prince of Wales, was new and suffered from technical difficulties which forced it to retreat. Had Hood had that refit, things might have gone differently that day.

Erm... HMS Hood was an Admiral-class Battle cruiser. Not ‘considered to be by some’, WAS. In fact, was the the last battlecruiser built for the Royal Navy. Anyway, aside from a questionable promotional video script, she’s a fine ship: better than her PC incarnation. Still tricky to use though.
@@thatryan What do you mean by 'you want a T7 BB'? As in, if you want a tough, brawling ship then Hood is not for you. Hood, with armour closer to a cruiser than a true battleship, plays best like a cruiser: keep distance by kiteing a target, using speed and stealth to find and exploit vounerable targets. The tricky part is that in game she is, of course, a battleship thus takes a team position opposite an enemy battleship in the matchmaker. If your team needs you to play the damage sponge roll, all you have going for you is your best in class hit point pool. The 'tricky' part is balancing what your ship is actually good at (being the biggest, baddest cruiser at the tier) and what your battlefield role, matchmaker and team need you to be.

1:20 it is sad that the developers are lying to all of us, on the mobile version, hitting the citaldel is completely rondom, you can aim at the superstructure and somehow get a citadel. And now the developers are claiming that the ship have some unique characteristic, ever tho it is fake.

Actually the AA of the Bismarck were quite good but the swordfish were to slow for the AA system made for faster and bigger planes
