hey man i have a 2007 E550 and looking to do this same setup. I must be missing something on what the cutout dimensions for the exhaust tips, can you by chance send me what the measurements are? that would be awesome. also on what your J-pipes cost.
I went with the same set up (29 inch J-pipes) but I still get drone under constant load from 1100 rpm to 1500 rpm. The only difference is that I went for an H-pipe instead of an X-pipe ...I wonder if that makes a difference?
@@sgj762 no, C219 5.0, but it's a W211 underneath with exactly the same exhaust system as the W211. I ended up losing the H-pipe & putting an extra pair of short glasspacks in the middle with no crossover. It's just right now. No drone, but the lovely V8 burble is always there in the background.
Where did you get the J pipes for the car? Just curious. Thanks. Also I read your blog...did the J pipes make the car quieter over all or just interior wise.

+Omar Awad ~$200 for tips, $500 for rear section, $120 for mid section. I did this over time, so it would have been cheaper if I had done it all at once. I also chose to use a high quality shop, and that cost a little extra. Worth it, though--especially compared to the cost of a system from Meisterschaft, Brabus, Eisenmann, etc.!
Nelson Omolo A true "straight pipe" exhaust simply means that there is literally a straight steel pipe that starts right after the headers. There is two different types of straight pipes, cat-back and catless. Cat-back means there is catalytic converters but after them there is straight pipes. Catless simply means straight pipe all the way through. An exhaust system usually has these components in this order: Engine>Headers>Primary Cats>Secondary Cats>Resonators>Mufflers
Damn thats such a beast sound there man.. Made me now want to add a j pipe and an X pipe..to my E500.. What brands have you used for the pipes and is your exhaust the stock one?

I can definitely see the quality, it's a great sound and it looks very sharp. Nice project :)
Can someone explain to me what makes a straight pipe exhaust. Is it deleting the mufflers?

How do u like it, and is this ur daily?
I love it! Yes, this is my daily. Very easy on the ears with the J-pipe, makes a great daily.
Daniel vlogs how much do custom builds normally cost???
Did u have to get the amg bumper?
No, just cut out the stock bumper.
what did you use, haha don't want rough edges
Thas how it supposed to sounds 😮
What x-pipe did you use?
Generic x-pipe brand, it may have been Magnaflow. Shouldn't really matter which you choose.
Cat in place or deleted?
both cats in place, he's just removed resonator, muffler and put in j-pipe to act as a muffler for the drone

Visar K correct. X pipes are 12 inches, your resonator is 18 inches
That mf sounds a lil Camemed
