I havent found a way to make my scalp stop itching but I find if I leave a centimeter of root out when bleaching the bleach doesn't touch the scalp and won't cause irritation. I also just started using 7 or 10 vol developer and do a few sessions which has caused less stress if it does end up on my scalp and also more gentle on my hair!
That developer you were using with the bleach is designed for demi-permanent hairdye so that´s why the concistency was off. 13vol does work fine with bleach usually but it just takes a longer time. I´d recommend using the wella welloxon one since it´s not as liquid as the colour touch one ☺
I think your hair turned orange because the color you used was a very light green, nearly lime and it got a lot of yellow in it, so it mixed with the pink to make orange, maybe a more blueish green would get the job done. Anyways, it still looks good!!
Also FYI (from a hair stylist) - bleach baths are far more damaging than just bleach. Shampoo portion opens the cuticle and lets the bleach destroy your hair (but doesn’t it lift the color that much) Maybe try this next time: use let’s say X gramms of bleach powder, mix it with 3X peroxide (so 3 times the amount of powder) and bleach your hair with that (instead of a bleach bath)
a common trick hairdressers use to help take off some of the burn from the bleach is to mix in a bit of sweet n' low (sugar substitute idk if the name brand matters or not) idk why it works but that's what my stylist friend told me to do when my scalp started burning
You said a few videos ago that you wanted to try some hair products for making your hair healthier, well bleach damaged hair needs protein, so try using gelatin powder! Science-y Hair Blog (she's an OG curly girl) has a recipe which is literally just 2 1/2 tsp of gelatin powder and 75 ml of hot water. It's pretty much the only DIY protein treatment that actually works because it's hydrolyzed protein, so it actually penetrates the hair shaft.
I think you've bleached your hair SO much that your scalp has developed a hypersensitivity, allergic reaction, sort of thing. Your body is telling you to stop. That's a warning from your own body. Honestly, I would heed it if I were you. You don't want to end up with a severe condition like alopecia, or worst of all, skin cancer.
Yeahhh even tho i love the bleaching changing hair colors, i think the same... maybe she should take a long time before trying something like this again
actually love the end results. It's like it was intentional but now fadded. And it's like a fire with some green strikes very interesting color.... Also sorry if u're developing an allergy. Bleaching my eyebrows was my fav thing but now it's just so painfull...
I use to bleach my hair all the time and then one day out of the blue just developed an allergic reaction to it and broke out in hives used aloe gel to help it
Girl-the same thing happened to me with the hair color I have in this profile picture. I finally did get the neon pink out of the ends, and I finally got all my hair to a white platinum blonde after four months, and I still have white platinum hair, but I cannot keep it up because the two month duration between bleaching the roots (the schedule I have to stick to in order to keep my hair from breaking off-with K18 treatments the whole time) it is too long between root bleachings to get even bleachings-even when I let the salon do it with shadow roots, which I despise on me-so I am too afraid to go back to full root bleachings, and I loathe the shadow root so much on me (I am a natural red head and even though my stylist is the best-I just hate the upkeep and expense for a look that just is never exactly what I want.) I am seriously considering a good platinum blonde wig to let my hair grow out and regain its strength. I fear wigs, but I fear my hair falling out even more. Ugh-platinum blonde-it’s a love hate relationship! But you’re adorable no matter what hair or lack of hair you have!!! You could look hot with a shaved head! Good luck!!!!
Use ion sensetive scalp 20 vol for roots. I use that on my roots and it never burns u can even do 10 vol and leave it on longer 30-45 mins. Never use 30 vol on roots I also heard cream lightener burns less on the scalp as well u could also put coconut oil on ur head priar as well or make sure ur hair is oily I highly recommend ion cream lightener with ion 10/20 vol sensetive scalp developer
Not sure if you do, but if you take some certain ssri's (lexapro, zoloft etc) for a prolonged time your skin is susceptible to irritation from chemicals.
Im not on those rn but I did get prescribed some other medicines (for a different skin issue I had going on lol) and I feel like that might be the cause of my problems but I’ve been off those for like 2 months now so it’s kinda weird
I’m sorry to tell you but 30 is a higher developer than 20. The higher the number the stronger it is. It burns because it was too liquified. The thicker the mixture, the more gentle and faster it will work. Also the developer may not be gentle enough for your scalp if it burns. Love you, best of luck in future hair endeavors ❤
It was probably expired. Go buy new stuff. Old bleach powder and developer does this sometimes. I didn't realise until I started only bleaching once a year, sometimes it goes stale
think the powder an developer really didn't like each other like the developer didn't like activate the powder enough to do its job very strange but maybe stick to same brands ❤ an roots my partner has eczema an we just dont touch the scalp but you could see how much gap you can leave or see if theres any nicer bleaches or lighteners that are maybe better for skin problems I'm not sure though is a tough one 😅
I had a similar reaction to schwarzkopf bleach because of the fragrence in it. I'm super sensitive to fragrence. Switched to a different lightner and developer that both have no fragrence and no problems now. IDK if that could be your issue or not, but thought might be worth mentioning. I get eczema sometimes too and it was because I was using body soap with fragrence. Figuring out what chemical could be triggering it could help, if its a chemical reaction issue.
Use sensitive scalp one like from ion, i promise yiu won't feel anything even with 20-30. I've had same problem with any other developers and started getting chemical burns even from 10 developer!!!!
should have used the darker green to tone it cause the neon green just turned lighter mixed with the conditioner and it diluted the green from toning the pink out better
a darker green would have turned her hair a much darker, green, and orange mess. you need to match the value of the colors you use so you dont overcorrect. what she needed was a green with just a tad more blue in it. and in my opinion, i think this is the best color correction she's done so far
Could you use a gentler bleach like one that only lifts 4 shades instead of 9 with a 10 developer but leave it on for longer? Don’t know if that would help.
Honestly, the bleach powder she’s using is incredibly gentle on the hair and is one of the best bleach powders around. Up to nine levels means that’s the maximum amount of levels it would lift, and the number of levels it actually lifts depends on how long you leave it on and the volume developer you use. So, using a lower volume developer, like 7 or 13 would lift less (in the same amount of time) and be more gentle them using 20 or 30 volume. But it is always recommended to use the same brand developer (preferably from the same product line) as your bleach powder because they work better together.
Maybe your scalp itches because it is too dry? The oil of the hair is protecting the scalp so dirty hair is much better for dying or bleaching hair. Maybe your hair wasn't dirty enough🤔
I agree with the other comment, you would rock a bob! And I'm so jealous of your hair that still feels healthy, i bleached my hair at home once last summer and had to chop it all off:D your hair is too powerful!
Ngl you might be allergic to bleach! I dyed my hair so much until I got a really bad bleach job from someone who left it on WAY too long and I ended up having scabs & face swelling. Ever since then when I’ve dried dying my hair my face swells and I haven’t dyed my hair in years. You can develop allergic reactions very easily.
It will probably take you longer to do, but next time you bleach your roots, make sure to not put any bleach on the skin of your scalp & maybe use a bleach that is a bit less strong. The chemicals are bad for everyone's skin but if you have eczema, then you should be extra careful to not cause extra irritation
You may have developed an allergy to common ingredients in developers. That happened to me. Try a sensitive scalp developer. Ion makes one and it’s my go to.
She could also have developed an allergy to her shampoo. That happened to me a few months ago. It was a shampoo I'd used for a while, and then all of a sudden, I had dry, itchy, scaley patches on my scalp. I swapped to a different shampoo and conditioner because mine wasn't in stock, and it cleared up after a few washes.
Maybe look at Stella Cinis technique when she uses the color wheel... i know you wont get platinum but you said you wanted to prep for a different color, maybe you can get that new color in one step?? ❤❤❤❤❤❤hope it works out, queeeen
BlondeMe melted both mine & my mannequins hair off. I know its most peoples go-to but i’ll never touch that shit again 🙅🏻♀️ i swear some batches are just battery acid
I really think (from experience) you should use a cheap permanent box dye in ash or neutral blonde level 8+ (usually labeled on boxes as 80, 81, 90, 91, that beginning number is USUALLY the level) it'll even out blotchiness and in most cases it will take all the semi permanent dye right out. Less damaging than bleach as well. Good luck!!!
You may be developing an allergy to persulfates. It happened to me and it was a slow process that started with itching and eventually the last time i attempted bleaching my hair it was full blown hives on my arms plus dizziness and difficulty breathing. The more u do it the more sensitive u become to it. I cant even be in the same room as hair bleach now. Totally ruined my hair dresser career path. Its what can happen from over exposure, especially after a viral illness (like covid)
I might have contact dermatitis or just a very sensitive skin and in my experience, I try to not make the bleach touch my head. It'll expand anyway so you can leave like a 0.5mm of roots. Also, immediately removing the bleach from my face/ears/neck makes the symptoms less...bad (though I still get red patches around my face and hair for like a day). Another important thing - do not let the bleach sit on the hair for longer than recommended (which most us does from time to time, right lol). I dont count the minutes from when I finish applying the bleach. I count them from when it first touches the hair. So I bleach my hair twice, first the back part (then wash it out), then the front part. Usually, the place where I finish applying the bleach only has it on it for 20 minutes, while the starting place sits at like 30-40 minutes, but it gets light enough anyway because I put a shower cap on it to trap the heat. I feel like if nothing helps, you should try to let your scalp rest for like 6 months and then try bleaching it again, maybe the flare up will be gone by now. Wishing you luck Lindy, this really sucks ;-;
If the bleach is so irritating on your scalp try to leave a few centimetres of roots and try to avoid the scalp. Could be the developer tho, all brands are different
went to the dermatologist again and turns out I randomly got eczema lmao any eczema girlies out here who know how to stop ur scalp from burning? 😬
my friend has exzema, she uses 6 vol (which kind of sucks but it doesnt burn) and she does it in a bleach bath
I use clinical strength dandruff shampoo and it makes my eczema go away
I havent found a way to make my scalp stop itching but I find if I leave a centimeter of root out when bleaching the bleach doesn't touch the scalp and won't cause irritation. You can use an old toothbrush to bleach your hair, without touching your root. Also amonia free should help. Be careful though, but good luck
Not bleaching it? 😂
honestly that platinum fading into neon green plus the coral colour looks great. gives summer vacation vibes.
You are being generous lol
I see the vision if she fully commited it would look really cool and different
It looks amazing!
My thought exactly
wait i actually loooove the end result!! it’s giving opal!
The bangs look SO good on you!!

I think the easiest way to go platnium would be busting out the scissors and cutting off the red dye and give yourself that bob 😉
The bob with the micro bangs would look so good.
Came here to make the same comment
Holy shit the end result is gorgeous tho! Love the green/orange ends
"My hair is stretchy right now"
"I'm still going to try to color correct"
Lindy your commitment to the journey is commendable if not stressful lol
Semi permanent hair color isn't damaging, it's literally just conditioner with color
It’s like the blue hair dye process all over again 😭
Can you do self tanner make up or drag transformation pleeeaaassseee?
Try Blondme peroxide, they have less than 10 volume and it works great

Have you ever tried no ammonia bleach ? I always use no ammonia bleach, 20 vol developer and it works great, no oder, no itch.
I use to bleach my hair all the time and then one day out of the blue just developed an allergic reaction to it and broke out in hives used aloe gel to help it

Actually loving the end result! Looks like strawberry kiwi hair haha
Well t18 tones out the pink/red tones! I promise it works!
I'm in the process of getting red out of my fringe so I can go cotton candy it is being so stubborn 😢
Pablow brill. Like the videoooooow
You can use ketchup to cancel out the green and the ketchup does not have enough pigment to change your blonde hair. 😊
i'm gonna wager a guess and say your hair turned orange because you used a very yellow green (and not a lot of it) to tone a very reddish pink
these videos always cheer me up after having a bad day. keep them up xx
Not sure if you do, but if you take some certain ssri's (lexapro, zoloft etc) for a prolonged time your skin is susceptible to irritation from chemicals.

You probably had an allergic reaction to the new peroxide on your roots
I also wanna add I think there’s something wrong with that developer the entire bleach didn’t seem to work properly
You should try dandruff shampoo
I’m sorry to tell you but 30 is a higher developer than 20. The higher the number the stronger it is. It burns because it was too liquified. Maybe rock the roots a bit. Just don't bleach all the way to the scalp and give your skin a break? If anyone can make it work it's you
You should have put purple over the pink and it can fade to be silvery
Hair stylists in this chat must be spinning out of control😂
Do you deep condition regularly? Use sulfate free shampoo?
Use sensitive scalp one like from ion, i promise yiu won't feel anything even with 20-30.

Time to Bob it ✂️
I feel like your eyebrows are thinner every video aha ! you rock this look ♥
Test strand who?
Honestly it sounds like you have contact dermatitis on your head not eczema
Contact dermatitis is a type of eczema.
I think if you let your hair get greasy for a day or two before bleaching, your natural oils will help protect your scalp
I LOVEEE how it turned out, also, it looks even better with the bangs, you look beautiful! 🖤
You may possibly be allergic to ammonia

she said it’s itching and felt uncomfortable so I guess that’s why she had to rinse it off early.
I physically could not handle it lmao felt like someone was scraping my skin off
@NadjaHlm Sounds like the developer and the bleach had some kind of reaction. Or she used a shampoo that reacts to bleach.
Not you gaslighting yourself at the start into thinking your hairs healthy 😅
Omg girl please get the aphogee 2 step protein treatment
How do you always end up looking so good? 😅 you have nice canvas to dye over this coral with something else now
Did you say... 30 is lower than 20? My friend... that's backwards. That's probably the immediate irritation!

You may be developing an allergy to persulfates. I read somewhere that if its stretchy, rinsing it in apple cider vinegar will neutralise the alkaline in it thats causing the damage???
If the bleach is so irritating on your scalp try to leave a few centimetres of roots and try to avoid the scalp. Could be the developer tho, all brands are different
Let’s call it watermelon hair?
Color Touch is just for toning 😭 hope your hair & skalp isnt that burned
