i think you're the only person ive found who played the part at 2:00 (just like the orchestra), and im so F**king happy right now! thank you for being alive
Haha, glad you like it. Wasn't so sure how it would work out on piano, but wanted to experiment anyway. It sounds damn bloody good in the orchestra version though.
I really like the original version of this song, but I also really like the changes you've made to it. I think you did a really good job of adding your own touch to it without taking anything away from the original piece.
Update: finished the piece today! 🎉☺️ I also realized the last page is a repetition of the previous one; whereas you played it in the video with extra scales. It sounds wonderful both ways 🙏🏻🎉🌸 Thank you for the arrangement. I do prefer it more than the official book ☺️
Hmm, I no longer have that sheet music though. I do have a recent updated one that's now available on Musicnotes. Should be a lot more accurate, including all the "ad lib." runs. Anyways, congrats on finally finishing learning the piece. :)
damn ! ive heard many to zanarkands but this is probably one of my fav on youtube. really like the sound of it! all of your videos are great as well. keep up the great content!
*Sheets are now available for download at my website (link is in the description).* No need to request it from me any more. :) Edit: No longer at my website. Sheets are now available on Musicnotes! bit.ly/3kIH2MG
Really nice cover. I've been waiting for ages for someone to do a version similar to Distant Worlds. The original arrangement was a little dull and this adds that beautiful counter melody to spice it up. Gonna learn this for sure now. Thanks for the sheets.
Among other To Zanarkand piano versions, I find yours the best because of a hint of the orchestra arrangement (my favorite part!!), and other playing of notes :D
I love how you break the rhythm and present like 3 or 4 variations of the same tune but in different timings. My brain however is having a hard time shifting the timing fast 😝 I’ve been practicing since yesterday to nail the shift. I managed to get 2 timings right. The third is currently difficult 😅
You did well! But I also wish you included the measures which the violas played a long note before leading into the new part. In fact, I wish you do the exact notes as the orchestra version. Can you? That will be perfect!
The embellishing counter-subject played by violas + cellos in the tenor range is repeated by the violins in the higher register, but in your version you only played it once in the higher register. I want that counter-subject repeated twice once in tenor and once in soprano.
I like your version most out of all videos on RUclips. What kind of practice/theory book (if needed) to play fast appergios? With my current ability, I cant play the fast left hand part in the Piano Collections. Although I’ve been self learning for almost 5 years now, my skills and technique has bene long stagnant, as I only learn how to read notations, so whenever I learn a piece, I have to utilise my memory only and if I ever mess up, then I have to start all over again. Personally, how long did it take you to master this piece from scratch? How would you rate the difficulty of it?
Regarding fast arpeggios - A very good tip would be to realise that you don't actually need to physically connect the keys for the legato, even when changing hand positions / for finger crossings. I'm not sure how to explain this in text, so I hope you get what I mean. Understanding this one concept could be a game changer in your playing. I don't remember how long I took to learn this. I'm guessing not more than 10 days, maybe a week or even less. This one isn't that hard for me. As for having to start all over again whenever you mess up, I would recommend that you simply force yourself to begin playing from various points in the piece, so you can counter the effects of using too much of your muscle memory.
@@jeremyngpiano Unfortunately I haven't quite got your first part :( I will take note of your last advice though. Do you have any particular practice/theory books that might help? Im aware of Czerny and Hanon practices, not sure if you use them to improve your skills. Thanks a bunch
See if this tutorial video helps (Shifting Vs. Crossing): ruclips.net/video/-JF_bBsFpHk/видео.html Yes I did do a tiny bit of Hanon / Czerny exercises, but I really don't anymore these days. You can acquire a lot of technique simply from learning more repertoire. That's what I do.
Jeremy Ng thanks for the information. I got your notification while practising To Zanarkand (OG) ha. Will add the middle part of Ending Theme to it, though that means I’ll have to transpose the score to match the OG’s key.
Jeremy I have a question. In 1:30, the right hand is supposed to complete the left hand scale? In the notes there’s an overlapping note. I noticed your right hand played F# twice?
Yup, you're right. It's easier to play that way, but you have to be aware that it's part of the LH accompaniment line, and the 2nd F# is part of the RH melody line
Jeremy Ng Done with this part! It worked :) but ironically I found it a lot easier to play the first F# with the left hand and immediately follow it with the right hand. It should be a lot easier with the right but I’m weird I guess 😅
I've taken down all sheet music from my website as I've decided to stop giving them away for free. You can still support my work by purchasing my currently available sheets at mnot.es/JeremyNg. This one should be up there as well within a few months. I will be posting the download link in the video description when it's up.
**edit** just saw your other response. Can't wait to buy these sheets!!! Also ignore the email I sent. I'll keep checking for their availability. You're very inspirational. Shared on Facebook. Hashtag right in the feel goods!!! Do you happen to have sheets to your version? I just bought the ffx collections and would like to sprinkle in a little of your awesomeness. The link didn't work.
Very nice variations!! I like your version a lot. I like the original, too, but you make it seem a little bland. That is, compared to yours it's a little boring.
Seductive.

2305 low your Zoloft dosage dude !
Yeah. Jeremy’s version is more interesting than the official piano collections. Not sure why they arranged it so simply like that.
I love how you made the third quarter of this piece more faithful to the orchestral version. I'm going to try it out tonight.
Perfect, amazing sound
I really like the original version of this song, but I also really like the changes you've made to it. I think you did a really good job of adding your own touch to it without taking anything away from the original piece.

I know this is four years old but I love your work. (Zanarkand is honestly my favorite song of all time and you replicated it perfectly)
Thanks man!

I really liked the improvisation part! Sharing it !!!
Your improv enriches the entire piece and intensifies the emotion.....
Thanks! It's not an improv though. Everything was planned.
So relaxing, I listen to this as I study
You do? That makes me happy.
So epic, makes me want to cry when I hear it!!! Great job Jeremy!
Thanks, Libby. :)
Nice,I learn this song because this video
3:36 *starts standing ovation* really great FF covers!
Thank you!
TIDUS WHYYYYY???? Brings a tear to my eye every time, well played sir

I played almost every FF game but FF10 moved me the most. And this piece in particular causes major heart bleeds 😭💕

Wow! This melody is so beautiful and gentle!!! i like it!!! =)

This is my favorite version of this. That part at 2:00 was beautiful.
Awesome to hear!
Its just awesome!

Noooo, you're making me want to play Final Fantasy again now...! :D
Beautiful music ^^

Where do you mean exactly?
@@jeremyngpiano The little improvisation you made between the main tune. Like 0:40 and 0:49 I'm done with those. Now I'm dealing with 1:11 :}
@@DettolObsessed Ah, I see... I remember being pretty satisfied with how that turned out.
@@jeremyngpiano It's a joy to play. Thanks Jeremy! Hope I can keep it up till the end!
Good luck!
My great dream of epically playing this song was kind of dashed, in a good way. Not that I can't do it, but pretty sure I'll never rock it that hard
Do it anyway! 💪
wow.
Oh my god this one's incredible. The part from 2:00 is not the same as the original version. Did you make it up yourself ? because it's so brilliant.
Thank you! I wish I did, but I actually shamelessly stole that from the orchestral version. ;) You should check that one out if you haven't already.
Yeah I already saw the orchestral version but tbh I still prefer your performance for the part from 2:00 ;)
