yeah listening to the pedals and wood rubbing and knocking is fantastic on this. it adds something organic but lets the production stay clean. Abby Gundersen uses the piano internals like an instrument on her latest album too.

About 4 seconds later, I was like "OK nevermind".
absolutely. I heard the tempo and rhythm and thought "well, odd choice", and after some seconds in I loved it. That's a version I can actually listen too. The Piano is fantastic and her breathy sounds. Just wow.

She's wonderful but I can't help but have the same feeling I do when all of the new generation of singers take this on... it's not a soft song. It bold and strong! This version, though musically beautiful, just doesn't grab you by the neck the way it should. None the less. Nice work

Perfect vocals. Nice guitar playing. Tasteful piano. There is just some terribly disturbing mechanical noise that is sometimes almost as loud as the vocals.
Do you mean from the piano? Maybe Jack and Nataly should buy him a new one for his birthday/Christmas rather than going to Mars! ; )
@@David_Thompson Don't know what it is but it sounds kinda broken. If it would be more subtle it would be kinda charming. It's just way too loud compared to the vocals.

I've just noticed the mic on the top of the piano looks to be the same beast used in one of my favourite Stories videos of all time with Gaby Moreno - as well as bird song the mic is sensitive enough to pick up people doing building work 3 blocks away... Shame as the vocals and strings border genius!

Perhaps because my first encounter with this song was through Screamin' Jay, I found myself waiting for India to kick into a higher gear and ended up disappointed. But a beautiful cover nonetheless.

It’s probably to do with the artist who made it famous. The original version is also a bit… idek
