You can go to "My eBay" and then "account", then go all the way to the end of the "account" page there you should find subgroup named "Promotions and Surveys" uncheck all boxes and save. I guess this will help you!
Thanks, Bekhruz but I tried that several times over the past few months and I keep getting promotional emails from eBay. I will be finding out if cancelling my eBay account will do the trick, though.
