Here is Roger Ebert doing what he does best, responding to another person's review of Better Luck Tomorrow. This is Ebert in top form, showing a passion for film performances that made him famous. Respect to Justin Lin and his crew for the content. Support his movies. "Its not about races, just places faces. Where Your Blood Comes From Is Where Your Space. Is I've Seen The Bright Get Duller. Ahead of his time. Or, maybe we’ve gone backwards. Who knows.
❤
Roger Ebert via Justin Lin unintentionally supports the Fast and the Furious Franchise.
I love ebert
Ebert the Communist
Common W
Just wondering if Ebert would stick up for the film if he hated it. He gave it four stars. “Not just a thriller, not just a social commentary, not just a comedy or a romance, but all of those in a clearly seen, brilliantly made film.”
He is correct but he should have applied this same outrage to his own review of The Hitcher (1986). He was outraged at that movie for not being what he personally wanted it to be.
Now there’s 4 black series figures on the shelves at target for almost $30 bucks 🤦🏻♂️ miss the simpler times
Much respect to Roger Ebert.
hell fucking yeah roger ebert
Don't forget that Jurassic Park (1993), Catch me if you can (2002), War of the World (2005) and Adventures of Tintin (2011)
Roger was not only an unparalleled film critic but also one of the greatest essayists of his time. A brilliant writer.
0:50 What did that other dude say back?
I loved Roger Ebert. What a great man he was. Here’s a great example why.
Dumb asses. The bonus disc has the original theatrical versions. Sure the quality wasn’t as good as the remastered special editions but it should be persevered. Makes me mad seeing them ruin art.
To this very day, when I watched a film made before his death, I look for the Roger Ebert review.
2024 ❤
Must have been liquor up entering the movie
This was in 2002. And we still haven't learned a lesson... F*CK!!!!!
Roger HATED racism, I consider myself and anti-racist but Ebert loaded rascism with such passion that its almost scary, honestly? Goals
God I love that man.
Roger and I had a lot of posthumous disagreements, but this was pretty rad of him to defend these artists. I'm glad they respected his wish and laid his embalmed body to rest beneath the Sundance stage, where he resides with unblinking eyes in the darkness to this day.
Welcome to the realm of Condescending pricks.
Ur over 30 yrs old...get over it
The only film critic I listened to. He was always fair.
I sat behind Roger Ebert for a movie at the Telluride Film Festival in 1992. He was friendly and didn’t act like a “celebrity” at all - just there to see a film like everyone else. He was the genuine article, and it’s good seeing this clip where he absolutely nails the proper point!
RIP king 👑
Say whatever you want about Ebert, this man LOVED film. He's greatly missed.
Asians are only allowed to do kung fu and run away from Godzilla. How do people not know this by now?
Ebert was such passionate about the art
What movie are they all talking about??
Legend. Film criticism is nothing without his voice.
Indeed! Roger has been quoted several times as saying, "no one sets out to make a bad movie." Can you imagine any other film critic saying that? Most of them, it seems, have their minds made up about a movie before they even see it; They go based purely off of whose involved with it, be it on screen or behind the scenes. Roger recognized how hard and frustrating the task of making a movie could be, and never criticized or praised a movie for the sake of criticizing or praising it.
@@KrisCreiderwhat about it?
This is why Roger Ebert was, is, and always shall be the BOSS
It’s always white people saying stuff like that. So pseudo liberal they don’t realize how racist they’re being. It’s like they people who say “I don’t see color”
“shut up nerd”
What movie was being discussed?
He's a dirt racist
Meh. Who cares
He ruined so many careers, glad he is no more.
YES HE TAKES ALL RESPONSIBILITY 😂...Ur over 30 years old buddy. Get over it
Ebert was one of the good ones.
Ebert battling PC and whiny wokism to defend the film-maker's vision.
*preach Mr. Ebert* 👐
His reasons for getting up and speaking are his, but what he did speak was simple logic. What's scary is how many people are cheering and championing this because it shows how far away this kind of approach - logical thinking - is from the norm of the masses. He smiles as he sits down at the end because he knows, with full confidence, that he's won this argument because he knows, with full confidence, he spoke pure logic.
Even when he lost the ability to speak, his voice still resounded with passion and intelligence. There will never be one like Roger ever again.
I loved Roger because he was so uncompromising in his opinions. When he informed me what movies were worth watching he was usually right. Later, I discovered his rich intellect after he lost his voice and wrote weekly essays on his Roger Ebert blog. They are still there in the archives.
No surprise that Roger gave the film a full 4 stars on his website.
We have a representative on the CBC I would not call him a film critic rather a film blogger. Why he is on the CBC network is beyond me. Every film he represents on Friday has to be seen is a positive light as to not to offend anyone. Why bother with this segment?
"There's not enough discourse..." And, somewhere in San Francisco, a monkey's paw slowly started curling...
I work in tv/film i watched every single review of ebert and siskle the information i learned was better than any class in school
I have the right to not spend my money on movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the greatest film critic of all times is youir money!
