Thank you for this very helpful tutorial! Especially very helpful detail and in the slow motion left and right hand separately and together. May God bless you and your loved ones.
This channel deserved to have much much more subscribers. Very beginer friendly and yet with all popular boogie woogie riffs and patterns. Thank you so much!
It’s the only one I’ve been able to follow! I’m now playing boogie. Absolutely no chance with any of the other channels whos songs are either too childish or they just can’t teach!
Wow, the slowed down explanation detail is superb. This tutorial has helped me unify my left and right hands... I've been super excited, but think i've now over done the playing as my hands and arms are hurting, but it's worth it :) Thank you
Greetings! What woud be the proper fingering on tthe "chop" in C, to add the dominant 7 (Bb). I have be using My #2 (forefinger) on My left hand. Thank You
Great tutorial, thank you very much. For the left hand can I use index-finger after middle-finger. instead of middle-finger shifting? It feels like speeding it up becomes easier that way.
@willingeprins thank you very much 😊😊😊 I’m really pleased you like it 😊 yes of course , go ahead and use your preferred fingering, lots of people use that fingering 😀 thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
Really great! Thanks for sharing. My only wish is that you taught the riff you used towards the end of the piece (@ 0:39 & 11:18). Perhaps another video going over that one? Keep up the great work.
Hi @Glynn Owens 😊 yes this is lesson 1 of a two part tutorial 😀 lesson two will be uploaded in the next week or so and will cover all of chorus 2 😊 it will cover from 0:27 to the end 😊 sorry that I didn’t make that clear in the title 😬
OK I'm gonna have to steal the right hand riffs at 4:08 and 10:57 :D. noticed some Boogie Woogie Stomp chords in that like a lot of the older boogie players did. Easy to follow I already know which video lesson I'm gonna do my kinda Boogie Warm Up video based in Gm with some riffs I use mostly the minor blues scale and slides
@woogieman007 excellent, steal away 😁😁 it’s a cool riff isn’t it 😊 I learnt it from PineTops boogie Woogie 😊 it’s in Boogie Woogie Stomp too but slightly varied 😎 have fun 😀🎹
@@boogiewoogieandbluespiano Yes that one used in Boogie Stomp like you played I play it slightly different, sounds the same just the notes in a differnt order but every piano player will play it to how they like it. I would like to learn more turn arounds as I call them intros and endings as mine are pretty bland. There is one I love by Brendan Kavanagh which i can kinda play but just struggle on the ending rundown. And hey if you not already have a listen to my video think it's called Boogie Woogie Warm Up a thew videos back as I said which I'm gonna base my 2ed lesson. my first was of Saint's Go Marching In
@woogieman007 yes exactly, we all play things a bit differently which is part of the fun of this music 😊 I need to learn more intros and endings too . I have a very cool “break” in mind actually that I could use as an intro …. So that’s the intro to my next original covered …. Now I just need a middle and an end lol 😂
Hi, Nice tutorial. I am learning the boogie woogie in your very pedagogic book. I was wondering : is the lick at 04:10 (starting at the end of second bar) another lick on his own or it is a variation of lick #1, page 33). Kind regards
Hi 👋🏿 are you referring to Arthur Migliazzas book , How to Play Boogie Woogie ? Let me know if so , and I’ll check that page for you 😊 thanks for watching 🎹❤️🎹
@@olivierdescamps3988 hi 👋🏿 sorry for the delay ! It’s not a variation of lick 1 . I think of it more as a descending variation on lick 5 ( page 56) although lick 5 doesn’t use the Bb or B . Page 59 may help explain why I think of it that way though 😊 please come back to me if that’s not helped 🎹❤️🎹
@@boogiewoogieandbluespiano Thank you very much for the explanations. I have progressed very well in this song. I was wondering about the choice of the « lick » (I don't know if you can call it that) with the left hand. What does determine to use one " left-hand lick" rather than another ? Here you use the one presented on page 24 (2nd bar of track 8) of Arthur Migliazza's book. I bought the score of your arrangement of the « boogie woogie stomp » (shown on another video) and there is a small variation on this « left-hand lick », with the addition of a note (C) on the 3rd beat. Would it make a big difference to play the "boogie woogie stomp" with the same lick as this boogie woogie n°2 ? It would be interesting to have a discussion about the choice of left-hand lick. As I now master it quite well, I'll also be interested in other boogie woogies with the same « left-hand lick » as boogie woogie number 2. That's a lot of questions, but it's a really exciting field !
Fabulous lesson , an iconic boogie put within reach of folk who are relatively new to boogie , explained with complete clarity .Hope we don’t have to wait too long for your next !! What else is on your to do list , hope it’s something like sixth avenue express ?I am currently learning a version of Cow cow blues.
@Simon Cogan thank you so much for the super feedback, it inspires me to produce more content ❤️🎹 Part 2 of this video will be uploaded in about a week 😊 I haven’t recorded it yet 😁 On my to do list so far is part 2 of this and another left hand tutorial and a performance video . I must look into Sixth Avenue Express 😀 I learnt cow cow 🐮🎹 last year but never got it to a very good standard 😑 I’ll look forward to your video of it 😎
