Oooff!!! Your genius just scratches that itch everytime. Pro players would appreciate your teaching skills, but for the rest of us, it’s just manna from heaven (whatever that is). It’s hard hard work and needs hours and hours of practice but, eventually, there’s that smile on the face 😄 You make dreams come true. I just wanna boogie all night long. Thank you so much for making that so. 🤗
Hello Jay! This is Nozomi from Japan! Thank you SO MUCH for the wonderful videos! My husband found this channel yesterday morning and I am so happy that he did. My husband and I started blues in New Year last year and it has been a year and 8 months now. I bought several books but could not figure out what to practice but here you are! You are my hero Jay!! I will practice along with your videos! Thanks again! Arigato
Jay - Your videos are hands down (pun intended ;) ) the best boogie woogie tutorials available - The no nonsense and honest teaching is perfect as a beginner
I am on a boogie woogie quest and you are the Sherpa. Thanks so much. Such a fun genre!! I watch everyone that teaches piano. Jonny - Bennet - Hewitt - Marigold, Schineder and of course the gorgeous Aimee Nolte 🙏🙏🙏 But gotta tell ya - YOUR STUFF ROCKS (or should I say - BOOGIES!!!!!). Thanks so much! So great! Keep going. The space is not too crowded if you are bringing GREAT content like this!!! Encore!!!!!
Love these videos. No chatter, no fancy animated graphics, no crap film angles. Just straight forward, easy to understand tutorials that I can play along with. Thanks!!
Thanks for all your help! Been playing blues guitar for decades and just getting back to my first instrument. The tutorials are awesome. Keep them coming!
These videos are great, quickly becoming my go to for any new ideas! Please could you do a more advanced tutorial on how to combine scales like Cm/A. Keep up the good work 🔥
I know it was not part of the lesson but loved that ending at 0:28 and turn around riff like at 3:45 love them they sound so groovy. The tone you get from this keyboard is really great and tone from the chords of course. Great playing as normal my boogie friend
Hi found your channel and gives easy to follow tutorial,i noticed your forte is boogie but anu content on slow cocktail blues since its related?how about you concert boogie woogie keys onto a ballad jazz 😂
I'm 3 months into learning the piano (close to 1 and a half years on electric guitar), and Im really into hard rock, metal, heavy metal and that sort of stuff (Slipknot, Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Three Days Grace etc.) But...... You can't beat the BOOGIE WOOGIE! I love Boogie Woogie. It fills me with joy everytime I listen to it, it's hard not to smile when the boogie is being played.. I'm on a quest to learn the boogie woogie and I'm gonna track my record and upload it! Thank you for the tutorials! :) Do you have any tips on what scales to learn for some runs whilst playing rhythm with your left hand? Edit: I know that C G F and D are really popular, but could you play runs with other scales too? Thanks again!
Thanks for your comment 👍I like heavy metal too. Unfortunately I can't play guitar.. but like playing Deep purple stuff by the late great Jon Lord🎹.. your right though, no matter what music your into, you can't beat a bit of Boogie Woogie.. As for tips, stick with learning in key of C and focus on only 1 (maybe 2) left hand licks at first. The blues scale is a fundamental part of blues and boogie woogie piano so best to get familiar with it ( check my blues scale video out )... 'keep on Boogieing' 👍😎🎹
@@jayacoustics9150 That's awesome! Thanks a lot for the advice, I'll definitely check that video out! I've been practicing for about an hour and I was able to play the left hand while going up 2 octaves with the right, my goodness the crotchet beat is challenging for a beginner like myself, but I felt very good when I reached that 2nd octave!
All you ever teach is left hand patterns. Would really love to learn some right hand licks and hammer one. You boogie woogie instructors seem to focus on nothing but the left hand to which I have mastered. Right hand improvisation would be nice
Thanks for your comment... Unfortunately I've not done a backing tracking track video for this yet.. I do have other backing tracks on my channel though...
Thank very much. Can you clarify for me your left-hand turnaround chords here?Watched a few times and not quite sure which notes - and are you varying it? I can see two or three options I could play - which are yours?
This is awesome! Can you do or do you have any more blues licks videos. Love the blues and your the Master. If you could do some blues licks perhaps compound licks or combining licks that would be greatly appreciated. Mj
I'm not managing to make the transition from exercise 1 to exercise 2... could you please add it in a written music sheet form, so my brain can see how the hands fit together? Many thanks. Very cool video.
WHY NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT IS TO PLAY BOTH HANDS TOGETHER… I’m going to finish the conservatory the next year, and it’s very difficult I want to CRY :(
Yeah, Hand Independence is the biggest challenge in learning Boogie Woogie for beginners for sure. But it can be very easily overcome by having the right approach. Have you made any progress so far?
@@jonahschwickert Bro I’m not even a beginner 😭, I just tried once, things always work out for me like for the first or second time, I don’t really have difficulty but THIS idk what happened lmao I don’t even listen to this kind of genre, a friend of mine asked me to play sum like this, and I did it at my form lmaooo
@@Cadenci1111a Gotcha bro haha. Cool that you're trying out new stuff though. Boogie Woogie is awesome. I have a free training on what it takes to learn Boogie Woogie, too. It might give you some insights especially with hand independence. It's in my channel description if you want to check it out.
Excellent! The piano is there. Our friendship is not flowing as it should. The guitar hurts my fingers. The piano is nicer to me. When I try to play it feels that I am playing different notes. C does not sound like the C other people play. There's something wrong here. I think it's my ears or it's me. I used to eat the food of other people plates in my family. Of course it was the same food , but the food of other people 's plates tasted much better. Go figure!
Thanks a lot, you’ve got the best tutorials here on RUclips 👍
Cheers🍺 Glad you like them!🎹👍

I love your content. you're easily one of my favorite piano players on this site and I love learning from you. Keep it up 👍
Wow, thanks!🎹👍
A lot of piano instructors talk laboriously but it doesn't click. On the other hand, you don't talk but demonstrate and it clicks instantly.
great exercise to practice
Nice👍😎..
@@jayacoustics9150 right hand ok, left hand ok, both together not working good ... I need more practice
Wow tutorial and lesson, thanks. Just to get my left hand into the routine ✨🎵

I consider this already a more advanced tutorial. If you manage this hand independency, then you can combine also scales. Just practice them

Is it me or was the right hand staying in the C blues scale without transposing while the left hand moved to F or G while playing the walking bass?
What is the quaver and crochet beat?
I don't understand how do you know what are the key you can play that are not on the blues scale?

how do you know which "improvising chords" to play?
you dont really explain how the notes you play that arent on the blues scale come into play
Oh come on, highlight the notes for the whole tune, your killing me here 🤣🤣
Try not to show-off in the intros it can be off putting to those starting out.
