Mrs P. Is giving you an early Christmas gift. You had better be quick before the bank of Mrs P. Shuts its door again.have a wonderful Christmas and a great 2025.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
just loved the episode with the poplar. Saw the FF's video on it which was great, so was good to see your vid on it as well. great work by all involved and as you said - shows what farmers actually do!!!
Tree operation looked good to me Reg Andy and Rich brilliant neighbours to help out
Cracking video as always mr. P. No one was hurt that is the main thing 👍👍👍
Absolutely 20' or 25' if it can fit. The space will fill up VERY quickly. Thank you Julie! You're a great planner Ian.
Who let the funky farmer loose with a chain saw 😮🫣
Gentleman of leisure master of nothing love the channel
awesome to see you all Reg Andy Richard you!...
Evening Ian, Not been to good just woke today fell asleep and just woke up, I did see you the other day when I was watching 👀 Richard and friends cleaning up the tree 🌳, It still looks the same wet 💦 and windy 🌬️ we all the best to you and take care of yourself and stay safe.🚜⭐️🤶👌🎅🤶🎄
Ian, the longer you wait the more expensive it becomes. Go for it mate. 20ft is the sensible way to go.
The cattle look happy in the new sheds
As my late dad said when he had the urge to work he would sit down till it passed
Tea and Bacon roll is ok with me, good idea to get the kit out of the worst of the weather.
Ok you have permission, go and do it. Concrete will come in all good time.
Now something i learned over the years
The most expensive thing in a truck, when it is transporting a load, is air.
To translate this into your machinery store is !!!
Ask Tim to assess your machines and see if it is possible to use some of the height to make a pallet length upper level store ,
like a small loft. But accessible with the skid steer. Think in cubic meters not in sq meters
Just a thought
Always been a great believer in keeping machinery clean and under cover..
Great update - go for the widest option!
Could you make the north end extension longer rather than wider? If you then clad the side and back it would create a nice courtyard and give the cattle more protection from the wind maybe?
Also, look back at your videos and find where the pipe was run!
Concrete floors can go slippy like old shippon groups used to do bad walking in wellies
A very good Tuesday evening to you all
Surely you can relocate the gate to allow two 15ft extensions
@@leomcnally4999 unfortunately, no. The gate shares a post with the public footpath. I can’t move the footpath without a load of red tape and expense.
Your like us all get idea in head has to be done attractive sheds tats a good one .happy xmas to ye all
To me it only sounds logical that roofspace is preferred over a concrete floor. Putting machines under a roof is so nice. And storage you never have enough.. 😊
Just maybe Julie giving permission that quickly a cynical person might just think that she possibly has some form of ulterior motive, but then again maybe she just loves and respects you and your good ideas !!
Morning Ian, I’m working on yesterday time😂. About having a bit extra on “there”, well enough said.
Do as Julie says Ian. She ok for it to be done, the cows are happy as they are, they never had concrete base so they not going to miss it. All your implements can be stored under cover..Ian,,,it’s a no brainer. GET IT DONE
Mrs P will change her mind when you put the new kitchen in the new extension.
Hi Ian, at 6.08 the cloud looks like my favourite aircraft, Vulcan bomber 😊
Get on a do it Ian , you can’t have enough, buildings . As you say , not good leaving your kit
Outside . Doesn’t do it any favours . 👍
to confuse you , make a shed near the sawn wood so that the tree team is dry on a rainy day 🙂
Things are going along MR, P happy cows.
Good stuff Ian just built a tractor shed myself. Could you come out two bays and move the gate up behind the rubble pile. 🤔
@@FlyingFergyMan
Sadly no, the public footpath is the boundary that we can’t move.
Gates can be moved... don't forget the new sprayer will take up a lot of space.. 😉
....and the Sprayer will want to be protected from Frost with Antifreeze Sprayed out though the booms,
🎉🎉🎉🎉Was that a bale with tarmac on its bottom or had that one stacked on top. Wouldn't the field gate enable you to store equipment off barn's both sides so items wouldn't get totally buried 😊
The wind through the trees sounds different based on whether the leaves are on or not
Have you ever thght of running a tracer wire with your pipe so you can locate it
30:49 great content again
Putting sheds up is very addictive you end up walking round the yard thinking I could put a lean too on that or build a shed there.
Strike while the irons hot Ian as Mrs P hasn’t had her new kitchen yet , and I do think extending the barn would be good for the machinery.
You can find 110mm pipes with a pair of steel wires. Try it out over a running hosepipe ;-)
Is it a dexter thing, that they don't have feet issues or luck? Just watching Tom and Charlotte
Cracking vid as ever bud
@@jsw-farmer4140
Beef animals are far less susceptible to foot problems than dairy, and the older the breed, the fewer the problems again.
Im sure you have your own plans reasons for extending the lean to roof but id think about putting 2 bays onto your middle barn for 2 reasons im sure it will cost more but it will give you more storage and help shelter your 2 apex barns plus if you put an addition to the lean to your either not going to be able to feed the cattle at the rails/panels or else if you leave space for feeding you will lose a fair bit of floor space for the machinery to sit on but im sure you have already thought about that
Weren't you planning on feeding the cattle from outside via the feeding barriers , will an extension thwart this, or not ?
An extension will actually improve the feed barrier idea Mick, everything will be out of the weather.
In the long run Ian putting your equipment under cover will cut down on the maintenance cost Cracking video
Were you biteing your lip when watching the lads cutting and moving that tree, site safety out the window 😂😂😂😂
I was clenching in all sorts of places Pat. 😬
why not straighten out the fence line, adjust/straighten the gate accordingly, and go for the 20 ft extension? If you're going for 15 you might as well do 20, cover more of your kit and then maybe you could add some yorkshire boarding at the end too.
No no first Mrs.p her new and upgraded kitchen. After the congreet. We did talked about it in Sundays lives.. first Mrs.p her kitchen.. this plan is put on hold.
15'..... 20'... Drainage issues...? You talked me into the 20' solution Ian! 😅😅😅
😮Well Ian first rule of building a shed work out what size you want and build it twice as big cos it'll never be big enough 😂
Not a Dam thing wrong with leaving a Legacy Mr. P! Go for it, has Trump would say Drill baby Drill Mr. P is going to Build baby Build. 😆😂
Forget the gate way go more bays new gate off corner new building 👍🏻
Another great video ian wish we all could help with barn extension i still doing lottery had no wins lol
Extending the barn seems to be a good idea but you will loose acces to your feed barriers (which you currently are not using anyway). Lots to consider!,
remind Ian putting the kit there get involve the side to see the cattle there you know what i mean!
dont need to concrete machine shed but can extend past gate just park tractor in front of gate so you can move it to open gate its a good idea
I personally would make it as large as you can afford as you will regret not doing it. As you need it for storage, harrows, muck spredder, till sower, chemical sprayer, mower, post necker, mulcher, let alone trailers and another kit you require. Let alone bobcat and tractors
sounds daft but can you move that gate over a few meters ???? get the full 30ft 2 bays. i guess the side and back on this new bit will be clad and concrete walls
@@tractorman810
I can’t move the gate because of the public footpath.
@FarmerP can you not apply to move the path over a few feet or do you not have the room?
@@Dandeano Have you ever tried to move a footpath Dan? Look it up, then you will understand. 👍
@@FarmerPfair enough, just thought I'd ask the question
Go for it if you can afford it do it life is to short
After you’d stored a few thinks under that side, while waiting for the panels, I had a feeling that something like this just may be coming sooner than later 🤔
Or is it worth going forward a bay rather than sideways?
No Gareth, I want to keep the outside yard area as big as I can, and maintain line of sight from my bedroom window in case we ever get intruders.
concrete in the summer its dryer and hot it would dry really well
Concrete is best done when it's cool and damp. Drying out too quick weakens it.
Hi, IF Julie reads the coments, make sure he uses this "NEW" planned extention for what he said, getting machines under cover. I'll bet he has cattle in it IMO, lol, knowing tight farmers, I'd have thought a couple of old HGV wagon sheets, would have protected those outside implements, just fime for many years at a quarter of the price, IF that. Anyway, my money is on it being used for cattle, in a "change of plan" after it's built lol. You wait and see Julie, lol
Which would you say is your avocation the tree business, or farming?
Put two on and move the gate, it's two post's, a morning's work if you put your mind to it.
20ft is half a job and will always bug you, and after you'll regret it.
@@neilmiles9211 I can’t move the gate because of the public footpath Neil.
Put a wooden stile in there , to keep you legal, move the gate where you want/need it, "simples"😁
Your welcome 😁
Seen this on Richard's channel as well make some decent firewood now
great video has always farmer p ian and Mrs p mother in law p Mikey mille baby pullen Sam emma Abbi and holli and miss biskit miss crumble miss gypsy miss pepper and miss pickle miss Muppet 👍
If you're not growing so much corn over T'other Farm, would there be room to store the Haymaking Machines over there in the barn as it seems to get used over there more anyway ?
An idea could you not move your field gate to the right that would give you more room to play with 👍
@@sylviapearce5469 l can’t move the gate Sylvia, unless I move the footpath…. It’s more hassle than it’s worth.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Have a bigger building and move the field gate
Joined in with the conversation? Is that code for taking the mick out of people 😂
Usually Dan, yes 😄
2025 - I’m building a shed to house the shed building equipment for the shed that’s gonna house my new sprayer, the concrete will have to wait 😀
Well, hope you’re right and I hope the cows don’t get sick, especially with the worms the raining seasons like you have problems lost a lot of calves pass away or something to do with the ground and they got into the barn getting the cow sick. I remember I don’t want to see another cow die for something stupid
The adults are ok William, it was the new calves that suffered last year, the bugs got in before their immune system was ready.
The problem is you get a new barn then you buy more farm gear after then you can't put them under cover why don't you get large covers to pertect your old gear and new gear in the future 😅
👋😊
good idea having a implement shed but whilst your making changes you could alter your feed barriers as they are absolutely useless they need to be at the same level as the floor, you must be able to see how crap they are.
Actually the barriers are exactly what I planned and wanted Peter, I was quite prepared for the little calves to escape, the slope of the ground restricted my options but there is no need to make any adjustments. Only you can see how crap they are.
Have to say with probable new kit next year, space to keep it under cover seems like a sound idea. However, why are you proposing an open lean to cover for your expensive kit when you have an enclosed/locked barn that is full of firewood, wouldn't it be better to have the firewood under the proposed lean to?
@@miketaylor8777 Aha, a thinking man Mike 😄👍🏼
Got to be a 20ft bay, you know if you did 15ft you'd only say I wish I'd gone 20ft 😂
Can you not move the gate
I think a 20 to 25 foot
If you care to look at the Farming Fixing and Fabricating latest video, they show a Kawasaki Ridge 1000cc unit to replace your Dad's Kubota. Much quieter than your test drive of the other day. P.S. Can you not use the sheet you bought for the Zago to cover the mower and other kit ???
👍
I wouldn't have a eucalyptus tree anywere a building thier branches just fall off and more so when it gets warm
@@emmetparker5269
We don’t come across much storm damage involving Eucalyptus.
😀
very good video as always 👍❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Funny no money for concrete but 2 machines and another new shed lol 😂 need to show me how to get money from you tubers top man
@@andyrichardson9213 I most certainly couldn’t do it without the added income from RUclips Andy. You folks are all helping me build this stuff. At least you can see what im doing with it 🙂👍🏼
hi how u
See where the market goes on concrete price and steel price if its cheaper to concrete do that first
Just move the gate no brainer then you can put it somewhere else
I'd give up on concreting the yards. You do like building things for sure and to justify it, concrete gets slippery when wet. cows slip and split themselves so its not really safe for them. So spend the money on shed s for your kit and sleep well at night knowing your cattle are safe and happy!!!!
👍👍👍🇮🇪
concrete is nice but roofs are better
Ian. Why do you need the gate you have two others ?
go up to footpath
15 or 20 feet? Go Big or go home. You'll regret going 15.
Concrete is for wimps real farmers use gravel 😂😂
All I can say, poor old farmers!
Thank you Robert, Your comment has added a penny to the build a barn fund 🙂👍
You can't turn down the permission for a new erection at your age Farmer P, 😀😀, On a serious note. instead of concrete why not consider asphalt,
👍
