Marshall has one of the few voices I can relax to on RUclips. His content is both relaxing and thrilling at the same time. A deep calm voice on a journey to find the reason of a broken magic machine.
Marshall, you don't give yourself enough credit. YOU are the reason we watch. There's a few watch repair channels, but Marshall makes it feel like he's talking to you, not a classroom or viewers on RUclips. You feel like you're his apprentice sitting next to him, listening to him teach you. He's so good at explaining the process that you actually start to understand how it's done. It's Marshall, not the subject, that keeps us tuned in. Of course, now I'm tearing watches apart because the subject matter is interesting, too. And I hate "shorts". I do watch most restoration videos on double speed, but with Marshall narrating, I want to learn everything he knows lol. There are a few "greats" on RUclips; Sreetips for gold refining, Hand Tool Rescue for restorations, and Marshall for watch repair. All others are held to those standards.
As a guy about to retire from working for 45 years. Marshall has made me want to take up watch repair as a hobby. I know it will take time to understand all that is needed to completely repair a watch but I have lots of free time to slowly enjoy this new hobby.
I stumbled upon WWR on accident. Now,I don’t miss a video! I’ve always been fascinated by watches. After watching Marshall I can honestly now listen to his videos and picture what is going on. Not that I don’t watch the videos, but I will put them through the audio on my truck while I make my hour commute to work and again, without watching, I know what he’s doing. Love your videos, Marshall. Keep them coming. ❤
I started watching Marshall's videos because I love to tinker and found them very interesting. I eventually started collecting watchmaking tools and tried my hand at basic repairs and servicing. Now I am totally hooked and absolutely love this hobby. Thank you Wristwatch Revival!
I remember being served a wristwatch revival video, watched it on silent. Saw he had a magic playmat. Then watched more not on silent and was like “That’s… that’s Marshall?” - hooked haha.
.....you know that thing when you here someone's voice, but don't know what they look like. Then you see their face and your like....NO WAY! Well, that's me now😅! Glad to finally put a face to your voice. Feel like I've met an old friend. Love your content Marshall, have been binge watching for the past few weeks. Very calming, very enjoyable and VERY HAPPY to invest an HOUR of my day into watching one of your videos. Looking forward to the next one already. Thank you.
YES!!! It's like finally meeting the DJ on the radio that you've listened to for years! I am happily surprised to see he's not what I expected. I think I expected to see a skinny nerd with tape on the nose bridge of his bifocals and a pocket protector in his shirt pocket. I'm really glad to see you're a pretty normal looking dude! Laid back looking but I can tell by your attention to detail that you really DO CARE about what we're seeing...and hearing! I totally love your content! Keep up the great work, Marshall!!! Cheers, peace and much love from the San Joaquin Valley in California! 🎉✌❤
Marshall! HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of your hour long videos. I know it’s a massive amount of work on your part, but you don’t have to ask this girl! I’ve just found you in the last week and I’ve watched quite a few already. And I will continue to do so. Sure, please the shorts crowd, too. But don’t underestimate the pleasure an adhd brain gets from having content like yours!
Preach, Marshall!!! RUclipsrs are similar to, say, consumable/ fast fashion versus quality, timeless (no pun intended) fashion. I feel that the content creators always going for the fast, failure/ redemption arc in 15 mins are ultimately creating a burnout trajectory for themselves. I love Marshall & WR precisely for his thorough, high quality, focused attention to his craft- and the genuine & information packed story telling. ❤️
Marshall, I’m such a huge fan. I’ve been watching your videos for some time now and your the reason why I began my journey in the watch making world. Love how long your videos are and your voice during these videos are amazing. Watching this interview explains everything to me. Amazing job!! Thank you and keep it going please!
Marshall, you do a fantastic job with WWR. You are the reason I got started trying to repair one of my Elgin pocket watches. Yes, I now have a container of parts but I have really gained an appreciation for watch repair and what you do with your channel.
Great interview and love hearing the behind the scenes. Wouldn't mind seeing a link to this on the Wristwatch Revival channel as well. Solid questions too!
Hi Marshall, I wonder if I'm the 1st person to say this, but your voice is the true magic. You could do audio books on the side. And you are on the money about if I have to view them cut the whole onion, then I have moved onto another video.
From hobby, to enthusiast, to career. First guy I've watched repairing watches, this guy is just a natural, to listen to him get excited when something just drops is just amazing, I can relate so much!
I love Marshall his brain is like candy . I can’t get enough of him . The details of him working is super interesting . I have watches now to work on I have equipment and my hobby of watch repair is so much fun . Thankyou for showing his face it’s nice to see him . 👋🏻
I really LOVE the longer videos! I get so much more detailed interesting information. You know SO MUCH. But you still have the thrill of how cool little cogs and pieces of martial magically can count time accurately! Genius!
@Marshall worrying about hour long videos: A few months ago, I accidentally stumbled across one of your videos, I think it was the “not today, scammer” one. I had no intention of sitting there for an hour, and I wasn’t even really looking for that. But I sat there through the whole thing, and was mesmerized. And now I’ve made a workspace for myself and bought some tools and giving the hobby a serious go. So I’m just affirming that the time you’ve put into it is worth it.
You HAVE NAILED IT..... its simple for us to enjoy!!!! You keep it super top notch.... I am burnt out car guy... Perfect Edit.. I have been a sub for year or longer... Before listening to you here and now Mr. Marshall. I truly just enjoyed learning about something New. Your content led me to fixing gaming controllers because there BIGGER. And saves me & my coworkers $. That aside. I missed totally how you relax my anxiety. My main appreciation is Just YOU & YOUR STORYS. I LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING THE TOOL KIT!!!! & TRAINER WATCH!!!. Thank you for your time and effort. ❤ U Man Sam
I look forward to seeing a new video. I wouldn't care if the videos were 2 hours. Marshall you are the best. Love the history you give, and seeing how you get to the end.
Loved the interview, just as I love his channel. I watch out of fascination for another restorer who does something SO much more complicated than my tube radio restorations, and he started the channel pretty much for the same reasons as I did. Congrats, both of you.
Such a delight to hear WWR's method of editing is the exact same process I've developed for my small channel, as he was my initial editing inspiration. Takes so much time, but it clearly pays off!
Marshall, When I was 12 (1974) my 90-year-old uncle gave me five Boliva's he had - 1940's. I had never ever talked to him, yet I would listen to his stories while I could not keep my eyes off of his watch. When he passed his Boliva's came my way. What jealous siblings and cousins did I inherit!
My second passion is also watches. When I first watched one of his videos, I was like.hmmm I recognize this voice lol. The magic playmat he uses for his videos gave it away.
@@humansofmagic I think it's a fun aspect of this upload; you only maybe for the algorithm might want to put Marshall's name in the title? Been listening to your podcast on and off for a little while now. Don't remember how I originally found it, but as a big podcast and audio fan -and magic player- it was bound to happen I guess!
Kudos Marshall. I love your videos. There are many out there but you are the most engaging by a country mile. Now I know more about why that is. (Currently gathering the tools and materials and too many non running watches off eBay - lol)
Yes, RUclips videos need to be a certain length to appeal for the audience, however, some things need not be short. Watchmaking vids is GREAT, I repeat GREAT slow TV, in which case it does not matter that it takes an hour or longer. Do not be so flustered about it
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I feel like you got this masterclass level insight from this episode first hand, and then you started your video with 5 seconds of silence and 100+ words and numbers on the screen

completly agree with his comment about ads, i dont believe that these people do use the products the cash grab for, unless i am wrong and most of the people on u tube shave their balls

Also he gets so excited when it works! His excitement is contagious.

Big fan of WWR ! The videos are awesome. Marshall also has a "radio" voice that make the videos very pleasant to watch.

I started watching Marshall's videos because I love to tinker and found them very interesting. I eventually started collecting watchmaking tools and tried my hand at basic repairs and servicing. Now I am totally hooked and absolutely love this hobby. Thank you Wristwatch Revival!
Marshall rocks! WWR is YT gold. 💫

Marshall, I do outwardly appreciate your lack of ads. It's a key reason I enjoy your videos.

I find the voice very calming, I'll actually watch 2-3 videos before I go to bed and it definitely helps
I see a main spring insertion montage in the future! Now THAT'S what I call ASMR!

Awesome to see your face. Your content is always amazing!
Your videos are excellent! They are very entertaining and relaxing. Rarely do I watch other videos of the same length.
Marshall has a floating voice it's grabbing people and just go onnnnn
Marshall! Now I can put a face to the voice 😂 🤙🏼
Love his videos, love his format. Now we have a face to the voice.
Love your channel. Your narration thru your videos is what's the best part.
I love marshal voice ! I then learn about the watches bit I m mostly fan of the channel due to his voice and the way he shares his knowledge !❤
" I want to make the best compelling video I can" ....well you certainly do that Marshall - brilliant stuff, all round! Question: are you left-handed?

Strange to put a face on the voice! 😂
Marshall, you tell a great story. Super entertaining.
It took me more than five whole minutes until I realized that LR was referring to Limited Resources and who you were even talking to 🙈
hahaha my bad, should've been more clear. btw, how'd you find this video?

Do you have video for zenith 2552pc
Love the editing, sad it wasn’t longer lol
wait for the full interview, that's going to be much longer and will also have more on Wristwatch Revival
I think the hiccups and mistakes you make makes you human and that makes a good video!
Don’t care about watch’s, just like the way you make videos. Liked your stuff so much I looked at watch channels and thought damn they can’t beat ya
Love this guy.. what’s his website?
how do we get in touch with Marshall
I have watched for years but never seen his face. I didnt think he'd look like that lol. I always pictured Jeff Garlin doing it because they sound alike
Love WWR. I'm guessing this channel is Magic the Gathering related. Keep mentioning LR. What is that?
Limited Resources - one of the best Magic The Gathering podcasts around.
The Bob Ross of Horologists.
I wouldn't care if you added a sponsored by section to your videos. I think it's pretty easy to skip anyways.
