Absolutely loved the transperency! We've been following you guys since the OG van build! I always love these year end recap videos and especially loved seeing some of your RPMs! -Cody
Well done! I have a tenth of your subscribers and earned about $4k. Great growth after last year. I really wish I could go to a workshop hosted by successful RUclipsrs for all the ins/outs. What a great year for you.
Thank you! Views is everything for YT Adsense but brand collaborations really moved the needle for us this year obviously. I think that would be helpful I thought about going to something like vidcon or travelcon but tough with a kid!
Ok I was wrong about Adsense being the biggest money-maker. My bad. :D I like these vids you do breaking down the $$. I've often thought of doing the same type of vid, breaking down how much the channel made from Google's adsense, but I fear the numbers (6 figures) would have a negative impact on the audience if that makes sense.
Great video Kevin. I’ve been watching you guys since 2019 and glad to see the channel grow. I’m building our new van from both of your build series. Thanks for that. May you guys grow a lot more 2025 so Taylor doesn’t have to work. Happy New Year to you Taylor Wyatt the next KJ 😜 and family! ❤️
Appreciated the Ad Sense recap as a smaller channel! Are you noticing higher revenue with gear/product oriented content? We’d love to focus on trips and story based videos, but they don’t attract nearly as many views.
Awesome so glad the discount code is still kicking, we enjoyed our AC!!! Unfortunately our affiliate commissions ended after 2 months 😥 I wish I negotiated that one better!!!
Very helpful information! Brand collab/relationship deals seem like a great way to increase income but also take the added time to manage relationships. Have you ever showcased your process in building brand relationships to contracts? Having the goals and surpassing them is huge! The breakdown between Watch hours and Ad Rev is really interesting. I think you are spot on with the YT push to Ads at the beginning. This initial ad also is their push to YT Premium. We have a ways to go but it's so awesome to have targets like this. Thanks!
Nice analytics man. I am seeing more revenue month over month so thats a good thing. Need to start with some partnerships. Have to find something that would work well to start with. I had a couple partnerships for earbuds so we did some travel gear but need to double down .
Part of the RPM equation is that advertisers buy "slots" for their ads by Auction. So if it is a topic that they think is more likely to generate views they will pay more, and also depending on what your content is time of year may play into how much they pay. As a kayaker I get WAY less income in the North American winter than I do in the summer.
Kev. I have a question about YouTubing. All of the categories that you listed, are these categories we must seek out ourselves or are they automatic once we start posting routinely? I’m seriously considering this
The only thing automatic is RUclips Adsense but I think you actually have to opt in once you meet the requirement. All the other stuff is on you and must seek out, I spent a TON of time reaching out to brands emailing back and forth reviewing contracts etc. But once you get established it gets easier
Well done. I’m still not clear on how you can pay for house, health care, car and home insurance, taxes, etc if Taylor doesn’t work and you buy a boat. Air B&B your house? Other passive streams? Best wishes for success in 2025.
Unfortunately Taylor is still going to work with the boat just like she does with the van until we make more with YT, we’ll have to go back and forth. But we have our rental property / airbnb that does well and we have sold two vans that will help fun the boat buying. But boats are expensive which is why we haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet especially with baby 2 coming, it’s going to be tough
Kevin the boating space will be less crowded and will generate more views as less are doing this content. Did you make any money off of your merch? Is that an area you would like to increase?
We hope so!!! Regarding merch…We didn’t push it at all this year so no I don’t think we did, maybe one item but I couldn’t find a confirmation in my email so it could have got lost in the shuffle. We do plan on making an updated logo to add a boat and a potential new merch drop!
So, it looks like you won't be returning to the corporate world anytime soon! 🤣 "Entrepreneurs work 80 hours a week so as not to have to work 40 hours a week for someone else" 🤔 Did ever try to market the vlog to local area businesses to sponsor the vlogs? i.e they give you funding and you mention them (like an ad campaign)... not sure if that violates RUclips rules.... 😎🔨👮♂ btw... I just completed a 12 day stretch that with 30 private ski lessons... ⛷ 😅 HAPPY SNOW YEAR 2025! 🎉🥳
Haha heck no Lee, I’ll do whatever I can to be my own boss. I haven’t tried to market to local areas, it’s a solid idea! I don’t think it would violate RUclips. Dang 30 lessons!?!? Good for you. We got a trip lined up!! Excited to get on some ❄️

Appreciate it Cody!!! I always liked the transparency so wanted to pay it forward
I was a new watcher this year. Enjoying the videos even though I'm watching them out of order. Hopefully you do better than just break even.
Thank you!! And welcome to the channel, we appreciate you being here!

Just wanted to say that we did our MB DIY build during Covid and your build videos were very helpful and got us watching you. Thanks
Glad they helped!!! It was a win for both of us cause I was getting feedback throughout the build!
Thanks! We enjoy this video every year. We find it interesting and informative.
Thank you Terry! I appreciate it!
Happy for you folks....you put in a lot of work to make it happen....All the best in the New Year....Hugs and cheers, 🤗🍻
Thanks Obie and Laurie for all the continued support!!! happy new year to you both!!!
#6 will be the money maker. Nice work!! Really enjoyed your series with that massive Truck camper. That's the dream right there!! :D

It was sooo fun we loved it! But a bit out of our price range!
Dang that’s amazing!!! Hopefully we get there one day, our views arent nearly as high as yours yet!
Thanks Kevin for these datas. Enjoy New year’s eve, and already a happy 2025 to you, Taylor, Wyatt, and parents ;) See you in ´25
Appreciate Samuel!!! Happy New Year! Wishing you the best as well!
Thanks for sharing all that. You really broke it down to understandable data. You definitely earned every dollar.

We just bought our Velit 2000R AC unit because of your videos and used your discount code!
Awesome so glad the discount code is still kicking, we enjoyed our AC!!!

Yea that really moved the needle for us! But consistent growth is great that's awesome!!!

That makes sense and the type of advertiser, for finance for example banks and real estate gurus pay A LOT for ads!

Good informative regarding your funds, but next time a little glimpse of Taylor and Wyatt please 😊😊
thanks!!! haha fair enough, they're the star of the show!

With you and Taylor as a nurse, you should be around 250 ish righ?
I wish!!! haha
